Capítulo 1896: Chapter 1856: Dr. Wei Bo

An hour and a half passed quickly. In the blink of an eye, Ye Qiu, Louise, and Liu Lingxiu were just eating so food, drinking beverages, and reading fashion magazines on the plane when the announcent ca over the speakers saying that they had reached the airspace over Berlin International Airport.

When Ye Qiu grabbed the luggage and backpacks of Louise and Liu Lingxiu and disembarked from the plane, the German beauty who had chatted with Ye Qiu earlier left him her contact information.

However, Ye Qiu felt it was unlikely he would contact her again.

“Qiu, you really have a way with won. That German beauty seems to have quite a good impression of you.”

“I won’t be seeing her again.”

After leaving the airport, they got into a taxi and went to check in at a five-star hotel.

As for why they didn’t go to Chinatown, it’s because Berlin doesn’t have a Chinatown like Paris does, so it wasn’t possible to go there.

In the taxi, Ye Qiu had a great chat with the taxi driver, who unexpectedly turned out not to be German but Swiss, although his German was very fluent.

Now the taxi driver drove to the entrance of a five-star hotel in Berlin. After Louise paid the fare in Euro cash, the three got off the taxi and approached the front desk, where a female receptionist warmly greeted them.

Ye Qiu requested a deluxe suite, and after the receptionist registered their passports and visas, Ye Qiu used a black card to pay the deposit.

Now Ye Qiu planned to stay for one week, within which he would visit the pharmaceutical factories.

After bringing their belongings upstairs to the deluxe suite and settling in, Ye Qiu said, “Louise, make the contacts first; we’ll take the car to check things out in the afternoon.”

The journey from Paris was not very far, but from Eastern Castle to Paris took more than two hours, and now it had taken nearly two hours to Berlin, and it was already midday.

Though they ate so food on the plane, Ye Qiu was still planning to take the two won out for a proper al.

German food tends to be heavy in flavor, so it’s definitely not as renowned as French cuisine and not as refined. Ye Qiu decided to take the two won out for steak instead.

Once they put their stuff away, Louise contacted Mr. Wei Bo, the president of the first pharmaceutical company, and they spoke in English, which was sufficient for communication.

They agreed to et at the pharmaceutical factory at half-past three in the afternoon.

After finishing the call, Louise checked the ti, which was a little past twelve noon.

“Qiu, we’ve made arrangents with them.”

“Then let’s go for lunch first.”

They had lunch at the five-star hotel, opting for steak.

In the past, when Liu Lingxiu’s family was poor, especially when she was young, she rarely ate beef, so she was very curious about the steak and other Western dishes.

However, since coming to Europe, Liu Lingxiu realized that eating too much steak and bread could get tiring, unlike white rice in Huaxia, which one could eat every day without getting tired of it.

This might be why Westerners like to eat steak, while Easterners prefer rice and noodles.

After eating, they returned to the hotel suite, and Ye Qiu suggested the two won rest first, as the journey to the pharmaceutical factory only took about an hour and a half.

The two won slept for an hour, then woke up for a quick freshen-up and dress before coming down with Ye Qiu, catching a taxi outside the hotel, and heading to the pharmaceutical factory nad Wei Bo.

Exactly an hour and thirty minutes later, they arrived outside the factory gates where a sowhat tall and robust middle-aged man was waiting.

“Hello, Miss Louise,” Wei Bo greeted, having learned that Miss Louise was from the French Gauthier Family, and thus he was interested in her identity, thinking she might be representing the Gauthier Family to acquire his pharmaceutical factory.

In reality, she wasn’t; what Louise was doing had nothing to do with the Gauthier Family, but her family status was handy for these dealings.

Wei Bo led the three of them into the factory’s office.

Upon entering, Ye Qiu was surprised to learn that this pharmaceutical factory had an archive spanning seventy to eighty years, from Wei Bo’s grandfather to his father, and then to him now, yet it had reached a stage where it might go bankrupt and shut down.

“President Wei Bo, your company has been developing for so many years; why is it deteriorating instead?” Ye Qiu asked curiously.

After all, factories like this in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry are incredibly profitable when thriving, capable of amassing fortunes, like companies such as Pfizer and Bayer.

“It’s the high research costs and intense competition; compared to large companies, we simply can’t compete. Our factory originally developed a drug for treating diabetes, which was quite effective, but other big companies quickly developed similar drugs, shrinking our market share. Without inco, workers and researchers are unpaid, and without funds, further research is impossible.”

Research, especially in pharmaceuticals, requires substantial support from talented professionals.

These talented professionals themselves represent significant financial outlay, not to ntion the hefty costs involved in the research process, alongside additional expenses like marketing and advertising.

Thus, the more powerful the pharmaceutical factories, the higher their annual research budgets, producing more finished products and generating greater revenue.

For instance, Viagra by Pfizer relies on just one dication to generate revenue akin to a money printer every year.

This is because it’s sothing needed by n.

“Can’t you mimic them?”

In Huaxia, one would typically start by imitation to keep the company afloat, then slowly grow and eventually develop proprietary products.

“Imitating other companies’ dications? That’s probably not feasible; we’d be bankrupt from lawsuits by other companies or even end up in jail.”

In Europe and Arica, patent rights are extrely strict.

“What’s the current situation of your company?”

“We haven’t been able to pay wages for two months now, and the employees have filed a lawsuit against and the company,” Wei Bo said helplessly.

Actually, he is a doctor, and on top of that, a pharmacology doctoral graduate from Berlin University, yet being a doctor is of no use when research requires lots of talent and excellent research laboratories.

So having inherited this company from his father, he expended substantial energy, and now he can only rely on external capital; otherwise, he’ll face closure.

Closure would be one thing, but if debts can’t be repaid, his life would be ruined.

“Miss Louise, if the Gauthier Family is interested, I think my company is very good,” Wei Bo said, looking at Louise.

Very good?

Then there would be no need for closure.

Ye Qiu felt that Dr. Wei Bo’s managent skills and the pharmaceutical factory itself might have issues.
