In the past, the area of the second and third ring roads in the Capital City was filled with many four-courtyard houses. However, almost all of them have been demolished now, replaced by residential communities and tall buildings, making the remaining four-courtyard houses quite rare.

That the Cao Family’s four-courtyard house remains intact naturally implies that the Cao Family’s connections are not simple.

Even an ordinary four-courtyard house in the Capital City might be worth over a billion now, mainly due to the location.

As Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu along with the other two won got out of the car, Cao Ling and Cao Long had already co down.

Upon opening the door to the four-courtyard house and entering, Ye Qiu realized the house was indeed spacious, probably over a thousand square ters, a type that has an outer four-courtyard surrounding another, forming a "hui" character pattern, making such a four-courtyard house even rarer in the Capital City.

Now, Cao Long and Cao Ling first led Ye Qiu to check on his third great-grandfather’s condition.

His third great-grandfather lived in a separate place in the backyard.

When Ye Qiu arrived there, he saw many persimmon trees, a small courtyard, and a well, exuding peace and quiet.

Though the place itself is in a bustling city area, it harbors tranquility amidst the chaos, creating a symbiotic balance.

Ye Qiu didn’t see any other mbers of the Cao Family, so he followed Cao Long.

"Doctor Ye, my third great-grandfather is resting inside."

As Liu Lingxiu and the other two won stayed outside, Ye Qiu went in with Cao Ling.

After all, Cao Ling was part of the younger generation and here to visit on behalf of her grandfather and father to see the third great-grandfather.

When Ye Qiu just entered, he sensed a very strong aura of death.

The sll of death was extrely unpleasant.

Additionally, there was an unpleasant dicine sll, the odor of disinfectant.

The sll was a mix of traditional and Western dicine.

The lighting inside was alright, and the air was breathable. As Ye Qiu approached a room, the stench beca even more unbearable.

Even though Cao Long visited his third great-grandfather often, he still found the sll barely tolerable.

Cao Long now just led Ye Qiu and Cao Ling inside.

Soon, Ye Qiu saw a large solid wood bed inside, a kind that is rarely seen nowadays, crafted in styles of yore.

An elderly gentleman lay there resting.

It was the height of sumr, and the air conditioner was on inside; otherwise, it would have been unbearable.

"Third great-grandfather, it’s Cao Ling from Jinling here to see you."

By generational terms, this third great-grandfather was the brother of Cao Ling’s grandfather’s father, separated by nurous generations. But in these large families, connections remain quite close.

"Third great-grandfather, it’s ."

Cao Ling walked over, holding the frail, bony hand of the elderly man with visible veins, speaking.

The third great-grandfather seed a bit unable to recall who Cao Ling was.

In his mory, there were many descendants, and since Cao Ling had lived in Jinling for years, not leaving a deep impression. Moreover, with mory deteriorating drastically with age, he couldn’t rember many things.

Holding the third great-grandfather’s hand, Cao Ling stood, while Ye Qiu, standing aside, already clearly understood the present condition of the third great-grandfather.

The organs inside were starting to decay, and soon, there would be a false recovery before he would leave this world.

By all accounts, reaching nearly ninety years was considered a long life for ordinary people.

After all, birth, aging, illness, and death are natural laws of life that no ordinary human can avoid. So people live longer, while others may succumb to illness at fifty or sixty.

Ye Qiu stood in silence, while Cao Ling just held her third great-grandfather’s hand, and the third great-grandfather seed unable to speak even if he wanted to.

After a while, coming outside, Cao Ling looked sowhat distressed, partly due to the illness of her third great-grandfather, which made her indescribably sad, and partly due to the unbearable sll inside.

Once outside, Cao Ling looked at Ye Qiu and asked, "Ye Qiu, how is the third great-grandfather really?"

"I’ve just assessed it; in normal circumstances, within two days, your third great-grandfather will undergo a false recovery, and then, in a day or two, he will leave this world. Birth, aging, illness, and death, the natural laws of life, cannot be avoided by anyone."

Everyone knew this.

Though Cao Ling once believed Ye Qiu could save her third great-grandfather, at least allowing him to live a bit longer, it now seed improbable.

And Cao Long felt this was more natural. If Ye Qiu claid he could cure the third great-grandfather, he wouldn’t easily believe it.

Nevertheless, Cao Ling representing the Cao Family from Jinling to visit the third great-grandfather still showed filial piety.

Just at that mont, Ye Qiu spoke, "The condition of the third great-grandfather is that his internal organs have begun to decay, and an aura of death pervades. Normally, it is indeed beyond saving. However, I can."

You can?

How could that be?

Cao Long couldn’t believe it.

Ye Qiu reportedly could cure the third great-grandfather’s condition.

"Ye Qiu, are you serious?"

Cao Ling couldn’t believe it either and asked.

Although she and her grandfather, uncle, were well aware of Ye Qiu’s incredible dical skills, Ye Qiu also just ntioned that her third great-grandfather’s internal organs were beginning to decay.

It’s like plants or animals that start decaying - how could you possibly save them?

Lin Xiang, Liu Lingxiu, and Xiaomai, who hadn’t gone inside just now to check the third great-grandfather’s condition, could discern from Cao Ling and Cao Long’s expressions that the situation was grim.

Unexpectedly, Ye Qiu appeared to claim he could save him, which was too surprising.

"I can at least let this gentleman live for another ten or twenty years."

Ten or twenty years?

When Ye Qiu said this, Cao Long and Cao Ling were even more amazed.

Especially Cao Long thought Ye Qiu was talking nonsense – how could that be possible?

Soone like an old tree about to wither, how could it be saved?

Is it a dead tree encountering spring?

It’s also still a dead tree.

However, in the present condition of the third great-grandfather, the hospital had long pronounced a death sentence, or else he would have remained there for further treatnt.

"Doctor Ye, are you joking?" Cao Long asked.

If Ye Qiu dared to joke about his third great-grandfather, he wouldn’t be happy.

"My ti is precious; I have no ti to joke with you. Regarding your third great-grandfather’s condition, if I treat him, within three days he will surely recover and then live for another ten to twenty years before dying naturally."

Cao Long was indeed too shocked to speak.

While Cao Ling was full of joy, if things were indeed as Ye Qiu said, inviting him over was certainly the right move.

"Doctor Ye, quickly, save my third great-grandfather!" Cao Long exclaid.

"No rush."

Ye Qiu said.
