Now reading: Chapter 2031 - 1991: Failing to Cherish Women from City’s Best Divine Doctor, a Urban novel by Seven-Step Prince.

Old Master Su told Su Luoluo she didn’t need to call anymore. He really had woken up, just still felt a bit groggy, and couldn’t rember a single thing from the past half month.

"Grandpa, before he left, Ye Qiu asked where you’d been."

"Where I’ve been... let think."

...

Ye Qiu drove back toward the Peach Blossom Source Villa Community.

When he got back to the villa, he saw Xiaomai was ho alone.

Obviously, she’d spent the whole sumr vacation stuck to Ye Qiu, so now Xiaomai felt a bit out of sorts when he wasn’t around. But after Ye Qiu and Lin Xiang went to school, Xiaomai was alone again, playing the Guqin.

Ye Qiu had originally wanted Xiaomai to go back to Jin University’s Music Academy for further study, but Xiaomai didn’t want to. She chose to stay at the villa instead.

Since Xiaomai was unwilling, naturally Ye Qiu didn’t push it.

"Ye Qiu, hasn’t Miss Lin Xiang co back yet?"

"Who knows whether she’s staying in the dorm or coming back ho?"

Just as Ye Qiu finished saying that, Lin Xiang called and asked, "Ye Qiu, where are you? I want to go back to the Peach Blossom Spring Villa."

After completing her registration and enrollnt, once Lin Xiang beca a student in Jin University’s Economics and Managent program, she could co back.

She’d thought Ye Qiu was still at Jin University; she went all the way to the boys’ dorm building, only to find that Ye Qiu’s car wasn’t there at all.

"I’m already back. Just take a cab back yourself."

Liu Lingxiu lived in the girls’ dorms and only ca ho once a week.

For Ye Qiu to drive back just to pick up Lin Xiang alone? He couldn’t be bothered.

There were taxis outside Jin University anyway.

"I... then I’ll take a cab back."

This bastard totally didn’t know how to cherish a beauty.

That was exactly how Lin Xiang felt about Ye Qiu.

Now quite a few guys in her class wanted to befriend her, but the minute Ye Qiu’s na ca up, they all backed off.

Of all the people they could provoke, they absolutely couldn’t provoke Ye Qiu’s woman.

Back in military training, Ye Qiu had beaten the instructor from Liu Lingxiu’s class so badly; those guys rembered it perfectly well.

Of course, even in this year’s freshman military training week, because of that incident, the current instructors no longer dared to act like before.

If they pissed off another student like Ye Qiu, it wouldn’t be as simple as just getting beaten up.

Ye Qiu sat on the sofa, while Xiaomai sat there playing the Guqin.

The Guqin did sound pretty nice when the place was quiet.

But these days, lots of people were into the piano instead, mostly because of the West’s influence. Still, Ye Qiu felt the piano really was great.

The piano had higher performance artistry and, in every respect, a brighter future.

"Xiaomai, how about I buy you a piano to practice on?"

"Piano? I’ve never learned it."

Xiaomai knew Ye Qiu was amazing at piano, and that Lin Wanqing was too.

Xiaomai had already t Lin Wanqing last ti.

It was just that she hadn’t seen Lin Wanqing for a while now.

And the Music Score for piano was different from the Guqin Score she practiced with. She’d have to ask Lin Wanqing for guidance.

Guqin Scores mostly used numbered notation, while piano scores mostly used the five-line staff. A small number of professional Guqin Scores also used staff notation, and to popularize piano art, there were quite a few piano scores written in numbered notation too.

Traditional Guqin Scores were generally single-line (right hand only), but as Guqin performance techniques developed—especially the demands placed on the left hand’s notes—more and more Guqin Scores started being written with two lines of notation.

In short, Guqin Scores and piano scores weren’t exactly the sa, but for Guqin–piano ensemble pieces, the music was unified into staff notation. Usually the upper part of the score was the Guqin part, and the lower part was the piano part.

"If I’m going to learn piano, I’d like to ask classmate Lin Wanqing for help."

Xiaomai said.

At lunch today, Ye Qiu hadn’t called Lin Wanqing, so they hadn’t seen her.

"Then contact her yourself."

By now, Ye Qiu naturally no longer treated Xiaomai as just an ordinary maid. He wanted to cultivate her into sothing like a little maid who understood music, chess, calligraphy, and painting.

Anyway, in the future, Xiaomai was his.

While Xiaomai was massaging Ye Qiu, she said, "I want to chat with Lin Wanqing."

"It’s not like I’m stopping you two from being friends."

In fact, Xiaomai knew that only Lin Wanqing really understood her music.

But because of her own status, whenever she compared herself to Lin Wanqing, she couldn’t help feeling an unconscious inferiority.

Even though Ye Qiu spoiled her, Xiaomai still felt she couldn’t compare with Lin Wanqing.

With how advanced communication was now, she could reach out anyti, whether through QQ or by phone.

As Ye Qiu was about to go upstairs, he said, "Xiaomai, Li Qianqian is coming over for dinner tonight. She might bring friends too. Buy more groceries later."

"Got it."

Ye Qiu went upstairs.

Over on Lin Xiang’s side, she hailed a cab at the gate and only made it back to the Peach Blossom Spring Villa about forty minutes later.

When Lin Xiang ca back to the villa, she saw Xiaomai there playing.

"Xiaomai, where’s Ye Qiu?"

"He went upstairs."

"That bastard just left on his own and didn’t even tell ."

"Ye Qiu said he didn’t know whether you’d be staying on campus or coming back here."

Although Jin University’s dorms for foreign students were really nice—apartnt-style and all that—

Lin Xiang didn’t want to live there. She felt it was complicated and unfamiliar, and staying at the villa was way more comfortable. She had no interest in living on campus.

As long as Ye Qiu went to school every day like normal, she could just ride along with him.

Of course, she’d gotten her driver’s license in Malaysia long ago; if she drove herself in the future, she’d definitely have to go to the vehicle administration office here to get her license processed.

Even if she’d already gotten one in her own country, she might still have to take tests here and do so paperwork.

All of that would take ti.

"Xiaomai, I didn’t expect you to be so good. Your playing is really beautiful," Lin Xiang said.

She’d long known that Xiaomai wasn’t just so ordinary maid, but from what she’d heard, Xiaomai had originally been a blind girl in an orphanage, making a living by playing music. It was only after she t Ye Qiu and he cured her that her eyes could see again.

"Ye Qiu probably doesn’t like listening to play the Guqin. He wants to learn piano."

"The Guqin is great too."

Maybe because she was ethnically Chinese, Lin Xiang really liked listening to the Guqin; it gave her that High Mountain and Running Water feeling.

As for piano, Lin Xiang knew it was popular all over the world.

"Ye Qiu bought this Guqin for ; he said it cost over ten thousand. I barely practice it now."

The Guqin had always been kept in Lin Xiang’s room. She’d followed Ye Qiu abroad to the Capital City recently, so she hadn’t practiced for a long ti. When she ca back, she found dust on it.

"Then isn’t Ye Qiu pretty good to you?" That made even Lin Xiang a bit jealous of Xiaomai. How was this a maid? This was clearly Ye Qiu’s woman, wasn’t it?

"He also said he wanted to go to Jin University’s Music Academy for further study, but I didn’t want to go."
