269: Chapter 270: Kill One Each Night 269: Chapter 270: Kill One Each Night Li Xiaofei didn’t finish middle school; instead, he started to mix around because he had a low level of education and was quite young.

Not keen on laborious jobs, he started working in bars and nightclubs under the guidance of a fellow townsman.

The base salary at bars and nightclubs wasn’t high, but there were commissions on sales, like those on alcohol, which were quite substantial.

Additionally, there were tips from the custors.

So of the big bosses gave hefty tips, which ant that his monthly inco from the bar could be at least ten to twenty thousand Yuan.

For Li Xiaofei, this was quite satisfactory.

He switched between several bars and nightclubs, finally settling down at the Night Colors Bar.

Over ti, as he beca familiar with more regular custors, his monthly inco significantly increased.

Li Xiaofei planned to mix around for a couple of years, save so money, and then buy a house and a car in Jinling.

Now, during the late-night hours when business bood, Li Xiaofei was constantly moving in and out of the KTV rooms in the bars, frequently delivering booze and fruit platters to the VIP rooms.

The more he delivered, the higher his commission, and with a bit of luck, he would also get plenty of tips.

Li Xiaofei had just co out of one of the VIP rooms, where a generous wealthy woman had stuffed a wad of cash directly into his pocket.

Li Xiaofei didn’t count it, but he knew it had to be at least several thousand Yuan, which ant his inco for the month would be even higher.

As he humd a song, he suddenly felt himself bump into soone, or maybe soone bumped into him.

In the dimly lit, crowded bar, it was normal to bump into soone or step on soone’s foot.

As an ordinary bartender, Li Xiaofei looked up to apologize when he suddenly slled a nauseating stench.

He thought the toilet had exploded, spilling its contents everywhere, but when he looked up, he saw a young man with disheveled hair and dirty clothes staring back at him.

When Li Xiaofei saw it was Zhang Yi, he imdiately recognized him.

He knew Zhang Yi, and they had so conflicts, possibly because of those wealthy won.

But after Zhang Yi was poached by the “Norwegian Forest,” Li Xiaofei felt indifferent about their previous conflicts.

He knew he should thank Zhang Yi, as his departure allowed Li Xiaofei to earn more tips.

“Hey, Brother Yi, how did you end up like this?”

Li Xiaofei asked in surprise.

Li Xiaofei wasn’t aware of what had happened at the “Norwegian Forest” bar last night, so he didn’t know that Zhao Ruibing had fired Zhang Yi.

What he also didn’t know was that the Zhang Yi in front of him was no longer the sa person, but a corpse instead.

However, Li Xiaofei found it strange.

How could Zhang Yi have changed like this?

Did he fall into a manure pit?

Zhang Yi didn’t speak as he headed toward a restroom, and Li Xiaofei followed him in.

He knew Zhang Yi must have co looking for him, but he was puzzled as to why Zhang Yi had such a vacant look in his eyes just earlier.

In his line of work, despite the cunning and stealing of business, loyalty was still highly valued, and Li Xiaofei bore no grudge.

Seeing Zhang Yi looking so odd made him even more curious.

Li Xiaofei followed Zhang Yi into the small restroom where Zhang Yi had his back turned the mont he entered.

Li Xiaofei took out a pack of Soft Zhonghua cigarettes and offered one to Zhang Yi.

When Zhang Yi didn’t take it, he lit up one for himself.

He felt that the foul odor emitting from Zhang Yi was similar to that of the unflushed toilet, perhaps even worse.

“Brother Yi, you should really take a shower!”

Li Xiaofei spoke.

However, just as he finished speaking, Zhang Yi suddenly turned around, grabbed Li Xiaofei’s neck with one hand, and his grip tightened around Li Xiaofei’s throat.

Li Xiaofei appeared fearful, and as he struggled, he could not understand how Zhang Yi had grown so strong.

No matter how much he struggled, Zhang Yi’s strength only seed to increase, making it impossible for him to breathe, let alone scream.

As Li Xiaofei grew more terrified, Zhang Yi pulled out a sharp awl from his body and stabbed it directly into Li Xiaofei’s neck.

Quickly, the awl pierced Li Xiaofei’s throat.

Li Xiaofei tried to struggle, tried to scream, but the blood violently sprayed out from his neck.

It stained the door panel of the restroom.

Now, Li Xiaofei’s condition resembled those common scenes where chickens are bled out; slowly, Zhang Yi was draining him.

Until the floor was covered in blood, and Li Xiaofei could no longer move, Zhang Yi’s hands too were blood-soaked, yet he seed not to notice.

In the dim and foul-slling restroom, Zhang Yi let go of the now-dead Li Xiaofei, ca out of the restroom and quickly disappeared into the night after leaving the ‘Nightshade Bar.’

The blood near Li Xiaofei’s body kept pooling, and the scent of blood grew stronger.

At first, other patrons thought it was just the nstruation of the won, but sothing felt off.

When they opened the door and saw Li Xiaofei dead in the toilet, that patron scread loudly.

“There’s a dead person!”

“There’s a dead person!”

The bar’s security quickly arrived, then discovered Li Xiaofei dead in the solitary restroom, the fresh blood emanating from his throat.

Deaths in bars or nightclubs are common, so due to drug overdose and others due to brawls, but, if investigated by the police, it would cause major issues.

Thus, after discovering the situation, the security imdiately notified the duty manager who, after knowing the details, inford the boss above him.

As the boss above instructed not to call the police, the duty manager and security didn’t call the police but handled it quietly instead.

Li Xiaofei’s body was silently taken out by the security, even placed directly onto a van, which then drove away, eventually dumping it into the river or burying it sowhere.

If the police were involved, the bar would have to close and would affect the other custors coming there.

The bar owner also had to compensate Li Xiaofei’s family, so now, simply having soone take the body away solved the problem.

As for how Li Xiaofei died, the security would investigate and then inform the duty manager, who would tell the boss above him.

The two security guards reviewed the surveillance footage from inside the dim bar, and could only see a strangely dressed man and Li Xiaofei enter the restroom, where Li Xiaofei was grabbed by the neck and then stabbed in the throat with the awl, slowly dying.

Now, when the two security guards went to look for Zhang Yi, he had already disappeared.

Inside the ‘Nightshade Bar,’ although so people were aware of the death, most were not, and the security quickly sealed off this information.

The restroom was also quickly cleaned up, making the whole incident seem as though it had never happened, but the employees knew that there was one less bar worker, Li Xiaofei.

Thus, rumors spread that Li Xiaofei died in that restroom, and among the bar staff, it was acknowledged.

Moreover, they believed that Li Xiaofei must have offended soone he shouldn’t have, which led to his death.

When Zhang Yi left the bar and disappeared into the night, he soon returned to the apartnt complex.

The two security guards saw the oddly dressed Zhang Yi enter the complex.

They noticed that Zhang Yi’s clothes were stained red, but they didn’t dare get close because of the foul sll, so they didn’t know that those red stains were the blood Li Xiaofei had left on him.

“One kill a night.”

Zhang Yi muttered to himself.
