The boss and Er Gou leaped from the wall and landed on the grass patch of the garden.

They stood up and patted their knees, getting the dirt off them.

"This place is huge." Er Gou marveled at the mansion and land area inside.

He rubbed his hands together in anticipation of the valuables he could steal from the mansion.

"Stop talking and get to work." The boss said and they moved towards the main building of the mansion silently.

Every step they took didn’t make any sound.

The boss and Er Gou moved like ghosts and covered a lot of distance with just a few steps.

Lin Xuan Qi who saw what they did pondered on whether they were using so martial arts.

He hid behind a bush near the entrance of the main building with the cleaver from the kitchen in his hand.

His breathing got faster as the boss and Er Gou got nearer and nearer to the entrance of the main building.

When the boss and Er Gou stopped outside the closed door of the main building, Lin Xuan Qi ran out from the bush and lunged at them.

He raised his arms with the cleaver in his hands over his head as he got near to Er Gou.

Er Gou saw his stance and smirked.

What an amateur, Er Gou thought.

Lin Xuan Qi had exposed his body and legs to the enemy with his arms raised like he did.

Er Gou clenched his fist, took a step forward and punched at Lin Xuan Qi’s chest.

Boom!

To Er Gou’s surprise, he heard a loud boom when his fist landed on Lin Xuan Qi’s chest.

A trendous force ca back at his fist, travelled up to his arm and hurled him into the air.

"Er Gou!" The boss shouted.

He quickly reached into his sleeves and threw out a few darts at Lin Xuan Qi.

Thud.

The darts hit Lin Xuan Qi and dropped to the ground.

The boss’s eyes opened wide.

A cultivator or a martial arts expert?

The boss pondered but didn’t want to stick around and find out.

If Lin Xuan Qi was a cultivator, it was no wonder that the mansion was huge but was largely unguarded.

And even if Lin Xuan Qi was only a martial arts expert, Lin Xuan Qi’s level was way beyond his to be able to repel his darts and hurt Er Gou without even lifting a finger.

The boss cursed himself for not thinking about this possibility before he tried to steal from this place.

Lin Xuan Qi turned around, ca at the boss next with the cleaver held up high over his head.

The boss wasn’t dumb enough to make the sa mistake as Er Gou, so he quickly reached into his sleeves and took out a container made of bamboo.

After he took out the cap of the bamboo container, smoke ca out from the bamboo container.

Whatever was inside emitted smoke when it ca into contact with the air.

The boss threw the bamboo container to the ground.

Lin Xuan Qi’s eyes were covered by the smoke, and he couldn’t see much.

He slashed the cleaver down roughly at the location where the boss was.

Whoosh.

The cleaver ca down bringing with it a gust of wind.

But Lin Xuan Qi missed.

He quickly waved the smoke away from his eyes with his hands.

He had to narrow his eyes to try and see as the smoke was making his eyes feel pain.

Out from his impaired vision, he saw the boss helping Er Gou get up and both of them quickly fled.

Lin Xuan Qi hurled the cleaver at them.

To his surprise, when the cleaver left his hand, it shot at them with trendous velocity.

The boss only felt a chill going past him before he felt pain at his shoulder.

The cleaver had sliced through his shoulder and stuck in the wooden gates that were fifty ters away.

He gritted his teeth and didn’t stop.

Blood dripped onto the ground and left a trail as they ran to the wall.

Er Gou slamd into the wall and the boss stepped onto Er Gou’s shoulder and leaped to the top of the wall.

The boss quickly stretched out his hands and yanked Er Gou to the top of the wall.

This ti with the adrenaline pumping, he was able to do so in a single attempt.

Lin Xuan Qi tried to chase after them, but they were too fast for him.

And after they left, he stood where he was and took a few deep breaths.

He was still sowhat reeling from what he had just done.

Going against soone with a cleaver was a first for him.

Luckily, thanks to his undefeatable status within the mansion’s compound, he was unscathed.

If not, he would have been hurt or killed by Er Gou’s punch and the boss’s darts.

Words began appearing in his mind.

[Congratulations to host for fending off thieves from the mansion.]

[Reward delivered: Cloud-Stride Step Manuscript.]

Lin Xuan Qi was pleasantly surprised.

A manuscript appeared in his hands the next mont.

He opened the manuscript and glanced through the first pages.

It was a manuscript for a Qing Gong, a martial art style that allowed those who wielded it to have speed, agility and were able to leap over walls and dodge attacks.

Lin Xuan Qi got excited.

This ant that he was able to have sothing to increase his probability for survival.

He was invincible in the mansion, but he couldn’t be staying within it his whole life.

The Cloud-Stride Step would co in handy next ti when he encountered any danger.

Although it was only a martial art style and not cultivation style, Lin Xuan Qi wasn’t about to be choosy.

"Now, to clean up the ss."

After he cald down, Lin Xuan Qi proceeded to pick up the bamboo container and darts from the ground.

He also went to the well and fetched so water to wash away the blood trail left by the boss.

Lin Xuan Qi figured Xue Cong, Yue Jie and Yue Xin might not take it too well if they found out what he did.

He went back to his room, kept the manuscript and lay on his bed.

Within monts, Lin Xuan Qi fell asleep.
