Lee He Song looked up at the gloomy sky with dark clouds covering it.
He walked out of the prison and glanced around.
There were few pedestrians nearby and only a few visitors to the prison.
He spotted so beggar kids trying to beg from the visitors, and he approached them.
"Old master, help us and your good deeds might help your family mbers in the prison." One of the kids tugged his cloth and begged.
Lee He Song shook his head and said, "I’m here to make a deal."
"Deal?" The kid let go of his grip on Lee He Song and glanced back at the group of kids behind him.
Another one of them stepped forward.
He was much taller and burlier than the other kids, who were thin and frail.
"I need you to keep watch on the prison for the next two days.
"If anything happens, run and inform , Lee He Song, in the Lin Mansion."
Lee He Song said and took out a piece of silver from his sleeve pocket.
The beggar kids’ eyes opened wide when they saw the piece of silver.
The leader of the kids ca up to him and took the piece of silver from Lee He Song’s hand.
"The beggar sect will honor the deal." He said and tried to clean the piece of silver with his ragged sleeve.
Lee He Song nodded and walked away from the beggar kids.
He had trust in the Beggar Sect to fulfill their part of the deal.
With them keeping an eye on the prison, if anything happened, he could try and co to his old friend’s rescue.
...
When Lee He Song arrived back at the mansion, Lin Xuan Qi was just done with dinner.
"Master Lin, I’ve inford Hun Xiong Kun about the birthday celebrations tomorrow, and he replied that he will consider your suggestion." Lee He Song briefed him on what Hun Xiong Kun had said.
Lin Xuan Qi nodded and said, "Master Lee, thanks for the hard work."
He had tried his best to warn Hun Xiong Kun, and whatever Hun Xiong Kun decided to do was his own fate.
The only fate that he could decide was his and those under him.
"Auntie Sue, prepare more food for Master Lee." Lin Xuan Qi said to Auntie Sue, who was clearing up the dining table.
She nodded her head and replied, "Yes, Master Lin. I will get it done."
After she left, Lin Xuan Qi sat at the dining table with Lee He Song.
Xue Cong and the other servant girls were either back in their living quarters or doing their daily chores.
"How was it in the prison?" He asked.
Lee He Song gave out a sigh and said, "I’ve arranged for my old friend, Liu Ju Zheng, to be moved to a cell further away from the prison cell where the robbers were.
"But it might not be enough.
"So, I’ve asked soone from the Beggar Sect to keep an eye and inform if anything happens."
"Beggar Sect?" Lin Xuan Qi didn’t know that they were present in Hong Feng City, so he was curious.
Lee He Song nodded his head and said, "They are everywhere in the city.
"Every beggar you see is a mber of the sect, controlled by their handler.
"And these handlers are under the control of the sect master."
Lin Xuan Qi recalled the number of beggars he had seen in the city and said, "The sect master must be soone powerful to have so many mbers."
Lee He Song shook his head and said, "No one knows who the sect master is.
"And besides that, martial art sects will never be as powerful as those cultivation sects."
After he finished his sentence, Lee He Song gave out another long sigh.
Lin Xuan Qi could only nod his head at Lee He Song, knowing how Lee He Song felt about not being able to cultivate.
"Master Lee, here’s what I can muster with the supplies I have left in the kitchen." Auntie Sue ca into the dining hall with a bowl of noodles and a plate of braised at.
"I hope it’s enough for you."
"It’s more than enough." Master Lee thanked her and picked up the chopsticks on the bowl.
"Enjoy your dinner and have a good rest." Lin Xuan Qi stood up from his seat and left the dining hall.
He got back to his room and poured himself a cup of tea.
It had been a long day for him.
Sitting in his seat and sipping the tea, he relished this peace and quiet he had in his room.
With his energy replenished from the al, he planned to practice the Daoist Five-Elent Cultivation Techniques again, before going to sleep.
He placed the empty teacup down onto the tea table by his side.
After doing so, he stood up and walked into the center of his room, where it was most spacious and free from obstructions.
He diverted his Five-Elent Qi to his heart and threw out a punch.
The fire raged within his heart, and his punch gave out a booming sound when it broke through the air.
Lin Xuan Qi was pleasantly surprised by the improvent, and he proceeded to continue with the practice stances.
After diverting his Five-Elent Qi to his other organs, he finally was able to divert it to the last one, his kidneys.
The humidity in the atmosphere could be felt by him when he did so.
It made him feel that he was subrged in an ocean of water, an essential for life.
After he was done, he tried to divert his Five-Elent Qi into all the organs at the sa ti.
From what was written in the manuscript, if he was able to do so, then he had mastered the practice stances, and it would be ti for him to move on to the next stage.
Soon, the Five-Elent Qi circulated amongst his organs.
With every cycle the Five-Elent Qi completed cycling through his organs, he felt stronger and could sense more of the Five-Elent Qi in the surroundings.
