"What is Lee Zhen Ren doing?"

The woman stepped away from the wolflike creature’s carcass.

She shook her head and glanced around at the surroundings.

Several other n dressed like him in cultivation robes arrived after him.

"Thanks for saving my life! You’ve got to kill that creature before it destroys the formation array." The captain ca out of the shock and shouted at the woman.

"We know what to do." The woman held her sword up to her head and shouted, "Disciples of the Six Pulse Sword Sect, kill that beast!"

"Yes, Martial Sister Ruo Zhi!"

The other disciples gave her a nod, and they encircled the remaining beast with eerie huge feet.

Its face had no resemblance to a human, with its nose bulging and deford.

Dark small eyes of the beast turned and glanced at the black pillar not far away from it.

Roar.

With its huge legs, the beast leapt towards the black pillar.

The disciples that were nearest to it lunged at the beast with their swords glowing with a white glow.

Thud.

The tips of their swords hit the tough skin of the beast but weren’t able to penetrate through it.

Blades of their swords bent and rebounded.

Sending the disciples flying away from the beast.

"Useless!" Ruo Zhi muttered and lunged at the beast.

While she moved rapidly towards the beast, her body gave out a white glow, and she was engulfed in it.

The glow gave out a bright flash and beca the form of a sword.

Roar.

When the beast felt the gust of wind coming at it from behind, it gave out a roar and turned its body, giving a turning back kick at the woman.

Its feet made of tough skin and flesh, however, weren’t able to deal much damage to the woman’s strike.

Splatter.

The feet kicked onto the white glow, and it was ripped into pieces of flesh and blood.

They splattered all over the ground, and the beast could only give out a roar in pain.

With her sword in her hand, Ruo Zhi from the Six Pulse Sword Sect turned her sword at the beast, ready to thrust it into the beast’s neck.

But the beast swiped its leg which was destroyed at her.

Blood spurted out from the wound and ca at Ruo Zhi’s face.

She quickly spun the blade of her sword to ward off the blood.

Splatter.

All the blood was successfully flung away by the blade of her sword.

However, when she glanced ahead, the beast had gotten away and was now next to the black pillar of the Formation Array.

Roar.

The beast looked up into the sky with dark and gloomy clouds gathering.

Imageries of his life with his family passed through his mind.

The mont when he held his firstborn child and was smiling with his wife ca up again.

He would do anything to try and bring them back. But it was already too late for him.

They had starved and perished.

All that he could do now was to make sure no other family would suffer the sa fate as him.

The beast’s body started to beco bloated, and it was soon twice the size that it was.

"Get away from it!" Ruo Zhi shouted and leapt away as far as she could.

The other disciples were a mont too late.

Everyone witnessed what happened next with their mouths open wide.

Bright red glow emitted from the beast’s body and after that, a huge explosion ensued.

Boom!

The explosion shook the ground and everything within a hundred ters was blown to smithereens.

Cough.

Dust and debris were everywhere, making Ruo Zhi give out a cough.

She was hurled away and stumbled through the ground.

Using her sword, she turned the blade downwards and plunged it into the ground.

Making use of it as support, she slowly staggered onto her feet.

Her heart sank when she saw that nothing was left of the Formation Array.

There were only body parts, blood and flesh strewn all over the ground.

Her fellow disciples from the Six Pulse Sword Sect were nowhere to be seen.

Ruo Zhi glanced over in the direction of Lee Zhen Ren’s residence and tried to run towards it.

The streets were now in chaos after that explosion.

Pedestrians were now jostling with each other trying to get back to their hos.

The festive mood was now gone.

Without any authorities to control the situation, no one was sure about what was happening.

The best thing they could think of was to head back to the safety of their hos.

Boom!

Another explosion could be heard, and they could see a pillar of smoke rising from the northwest corner of the city.

"Damn!" Ruo Zhi cursed while trying to shove a man out of her way.

The man got hurled into the air, smashed into the wall and lay motionless.

"Murder!"

"What’s happening!"

"Soone please, help us!"

It had caused the crowd to cower in fear.

She wasn’t in the mood to entertain them, and she continued on her way.

How dare these mortals obstruct her way.

If it was any other ordinary day, she would have made sure they were dead by now.

But today was an important day and everything went awfully wrong.

...

"Hehe." Eunuch Xin gave out his usual laughter when he saw the pillars of smoke rising from afar.

"I think it might be better if you head back for the city." He stood and pointed at the pillars of smoke to Hong Hai.

Hong Hai narrowed his eyes, took a quick glance at the city, and turned back and glanced at Eunuch Xin.

He realized why Eunuch Xin was on the run ever since Eunuch Xin saw him.

"What should we do senior martial brother?" One of the disciples from the Qing Feng Sect asked.

Hong Hai held his sword at Eunuch Xin and pondered his options.

If they went back, they might not be able to capture Eunuch Xin to find out what other plans the Dark Lord had.

But if they stayed here and engaged with Eunuch Xin, Hong Feng City might fall.

However, Hong Hai didn’t have much ti to think through it.

Eunuch Xin suddenly squatted down and held his palm on the ground.

His head lifted and glanced at Hong Hai with a devious smile.

"Hehehe. It’s too late now even if you want to."

Hong Hai began to feel the earth trembling a mont later.

He glanced up and saw clouds of dust rise from behind Eunuch Xin.
