Now reading: Chapter 206: Sand in Porridge?! from Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls, a Eastern novel by ShinyZebra.

Lin Xuan Qi leaned forward and briefed Hun Xiong Kun on his plan.

"I will be setting up charity porridge all over the city, and in the anti make use of the opportunity to employ those in need for my other businesses."

"Would it..." Hun Xiong Kun was worried that the charity porridge would affect the rice business they had.

Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and explained, "The charity porridge would be so diluted that it will just be enough to keep those needy alive.

"And they can’t afford the price in the first place.

"But it would be enough to make the other rice rchants nervous.

"They wouldn’t want to be the ones holding on to their stock of rice when the price falls down."

"Why keep the porridge diluted? Wouldn’t it be better to feed them properly and make it even more pressing for the other rice rchants?"

Hun Xiong Kun asked again to clear so of his doubts.

After taking another sip of his tea, Lin Xuan Qi explained once more, "If the porridge was too filling, then it wouldn’t be the needy that would co for it.

"I will add sand into it if I find those that aren’t the poor and unfortunate coming for the porridge.

"And it would deter the other rich rchants from taking advantage of the porridge.

"Trust , I’m very sure that’s what is going to happen.

"It will make it unpleasant for those who genuinely need it but that’s how things work."

"I see..." Hun Xiong Kun nodded his head and cupped his hands to Lin Xuan Qi, "Thanks for enlightening ."

It was the first ti he had thought about it in this manner, and he tried to recall past events.

And most of the ti, it played out like what Lin Xuan Qi had anticipated.

Whenever soone tried to do the charitable thing, the rice, essential supplies got hijacked by the corrupted officials or robbers instead.

Giving the bare minimum and making it as undesirable as possible might be the best way in these tis of chaos.

"Then, I shall not bother you anymore."

Hun Xiong Kun wanted to stand up and bid Lin Xuan Qi farewell but was stopped by Lin Xuan Qi.

He gave Hun Xiong Kun a smile and said, "Master Hun, well actually, I’ve got other news for you."

"What news?"

Lin Xuan Qi gave out a burst of laughter and said, "It shall be my wedding soon, and I would like to invite you to attend the wedding ceremony on the big day."

Hun Xiong Kun also gave out a burst of laughter and congratulated him, "That is indeed great news.

"It’s a good ti to get married and settle down.

"I will bring my wife and kids on the day."

He was glad to be invited and took the opportunity to get closer with Lin Xuan Qi.

As the business partner and the sole supplier for the rice of his business, it was beneficial for Hun Xiong Kun to do so.

"I shall send an invitation to you when the date is fixed.

"It would be an honor to et your wife and kids." Lin Xuan Qi smiled and walked Hun Xiong Kun to the gates of the mansion.

Hun Xiong Kun bid him farewell and left soon afterwards.

When Lin Xuan Qi got back to the main hall, he was all smiles.

Looking at the chest with the taels of silver inside, his face lit up with the glare from the silver.

They were such a godsend when he needed them the most.

Lin Xuan Qi could now execute his plan for the charity porridge and recruit new workers for the factories and the mansion.

He also required more guards for the safety of the factories and the mansion.

The ten guards he had right now wouldn’t be sufficient enough to handle so many when the new recruits ca in.

With this in his thoughts, he went over to the kitchen.

Auntie Sue, i Jiao and the other servants were cleaning up, and so were already preparing the ingredients for dinner.

"Master Lin." Auntie Sue was surprised to see him at the kitchen.

She quickly put down what she was doing and ca to greet him.

i Jiao also followed closely behind, worried that the lunch might not have been to his liking.

"Was the lunch bad?" Auntie Sue lowered her head and asked.

She was confident in her skills so far and thought that she had adapted to his taste with more seasoning.

But she was anxious that she might have overdone it this ti.

To which, he shook his head and gave her a smile, "No, lunch was great as usual."

Auntie Sue and i Jiao gave out a sigh of relief and smiled at him.

"That’s good to hear." They were glad that it wasn’t about the lunch.

"However, I’ve got a task for all of you." Lin Xuan Qi said and pointed at the bag of rice in the kitchen, "I need you to cook a lot of porridge, make it as diluted as possible to feed hundreds of people."

"Porridge? Diluted?" Auntie Sue glanced at him, looking confused.

i Jiao also wasn’t sure what he was up to.

"I would be opening a charity porridge stall for the poor and needy, the weather is getting cold, most wouldn’t survive without getting sothing to eat." He explained what he wanted to do.

Auntie Sue imdiately bowed at him and said, "Thank you, Master Lin! I shall do my best."

i Jiao and the other servants also joined in and thanked him.

They knew he was kind and fair to them but wasn’t the sa when he dealt with outsiders or those who tried to harm Lin Clan.

So, they appreciated him being willing to help the needy.

They were after all, once in such a situation before they were welcod into the Lin Clan by Lin Xuan Qi.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head at them and said, "However, there are things that all of you need to take note of..."
