If it was just another day, Lu Ting would be excited at the good news that there might be another way for her to break her Nine Heavens Pristine Ice Dantian.
But this wasn’t any other day.
She had her mind on Huo Fei Li.
All that she could think of now was to heal him from his injuries.
Lu Ting ca up to Huo Fei Li after she entered the room and held his wrist up.
She placed her fingers on his wrist to check on his pulse.
While she did so, Lin Xuan Qi saw the worried look on her face.
He recalled that she wasn’t on good terms with Huo Fei Li when he saw them the previous ti.
Sothing must have happened and he decided to ask and find out.
It would also help distract Lu Ting from her anxieties so he did.
"What happened in the mountains?" He asked and poured a cup of tea for Lu Ting.
Lu Ting placed the wrist of Huo Fei Li down onto the bed and gave out a long sigh.
"I... We were up in the mountains trying to find the Spirit Herbs you’ve requested.
"And we t a strange man out of nowhere.
"He was alone wearing a dark robe with long black hair sitting by the river fishing." She said and picked up the teacup that Lin Xuan Qi had poured for her.
She took a sip from the teacup and shook her head, "The strange man asked about our view on being a cultivator out of nowhere."
"View on being a cultivator?" Lin Xuan Qi frowned and repeated after her.
"Yes, view on being a cultivator. And apparently he wasn’t too happy with our answers." She said and glanced over at Huo Fei Li.
Lin Xuan Qi frowned as this strange man reminded him of the Governor.
But he couldn’t pinpoint exactly why.
The Governor had asked him about what he thought about asking the cultivators to give up their powers and be treated equally as everyone else.
It seed like a coincidence to him but he took note of it.
Often tis, things that seed far-fetched might turn out to be true.
He decided that when Sima Ye or Sima Long arrived later, it might be a piece of useful information for them.
Lin Xuan Qi wouldn’t want to be too involved in the matters of the cultivation sects or rogue cultivators if he could help it.
Getting his clan bigger and stronger was his priority for now.
"Did the strange man say anything else before he turned violent?" Lin Xuan Qi probed further.
Lu Ting glanced at Huo Fei Li and sighed, "The strange man said he wanted to test Huo Fei Li’s resolve about protecting his loved ones and then the strange man started to attack us."
"Test Huo Fei Li’s resolve for what?" Lin Xuan Qi couldn’t understand and he shook his head.
It seed to him that Sima Long’s warning to him about cultivators being nasty people underneath their veneer of righteousness was true.
Rogue cultivators like the strange man could attack you suddenly for saying sothing that they didn’t like.
Lin Xuan Qi felt again after a long ti, how treacherous and dangerous the cultivation world was.
He had been dealing with his business so much that it made him feel like it was just another ancient dynasty with an emperor.
But too bad it wasn’t and he needed more than money to survive and thrive.

And while they were talking, Huo Fei Li suddenly gave out a soft murmur.
Lu Ting went over to his side and quickly checked on him.
She placed her fingers on his wrist and checked his pulse again.
This ti, his pulse was even more faint than before.
His body was also getting colder.
Lu Ting covered his body with the blanket and she started to make use of her Spirit Qi to help him keep warm.
Lin Xuan Qi saw her hand give out a white glow and it extended into Huo Fei Li’s wrist.
It seed to help a little and Huo Fei Li’s face didn’t look as pale as before.
But out of a sudden, she stopped and nearly collapsed onto the ground.
She too was tired and had exhausted her Spirit Qi along the way to sustain Huo Fei Li.
Lin Xuan Qi held onto her before she fell over and she steadied herself back onto her feet.
"I think it’s best you take a rest first." He said and glanced over at Xiu.
Xiu bowed at him and said, "I will get the guest room next door ready."
She turned around and opened the door of the guest room, and when the door opened, there were a few n standing outside.
It was Lee He Song with Sima Ye and Granduncle Xiong.
Lin Xuan Qi didn’t expect to see Granduncle Xiong.
Lu Ting’s jade pendant must’ve carried enough weight for him to co personally.
"Please co in." Xiu bowed at them and led them inside the guest room.
She hurriedly poured tea for them and went on to get the other guest room ready for Lu Ting.
Lin Xuan Qi bowed at them with his hands cupped and said, "Master Sima Ye and Granduncle Xiong, thanks so much for coming."
Granduncle Xiong nodded his head at him and said, "It is a good deed to help others in need."
He turned over at Lu Ting and glanced at her.
"Young mistress Lu Ting, we ca over as soon as possible.
"How is young master Huo Fei Li now?" Granduncle Xiong gave Lu Ting a smile and said.
Lu Ting stood up and bowed at him.
"Thanks so much for your help and as promised, I shall get you whatever you need that the Lu Clan can get for you."
Granduncle Xiong nodded and said, "No ti to talk about it now, let’s try and help young master Huo Fei Li first."
He glanced at Sima Ye and Sima Ye nodded his head back at Granduncle Xiong.
Lu Ting stepped aside from the bedside and Sima Ye took out a small Ruyi.
The Ruyi had a long handle and an end that was bigger which was shaped like a cloud.
He injected his Spirit Qi into the Ruyi and the Ruyi hovered above Huo Fei Li.
