Lin Xuan Qi drank his wine quietly, while he noticed how Qian Shi had taken control of the gathering ever since Qian Shi had stepped into it.
Young master Heng went on and briefed Qian Shi on what transpired but Qian Shi’s face was relatively calm and composed.
When he was done, young master Heng gestured to the servants and the servants began scurrying around.
They helped to prepare the soap and food with the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence for Qian Shi to try them out.
"Since I’m late, here are three cups of wine as my apology." Qian Shi picked up his wine cup while they waited, and proposed three cups of wine as a toast to the young masters.
The young masters quickly picked up their wine cups and returned the toast.
"Ah." After Qian Shi was done with his toast, he gave out a satisfying ah and glanced over to Lin Xuan Qi, "It’s great to et soone as talented as young master Lin.
"The Da Qian Dynasty needs more young n like you to contribute to its prosperity."
Lin Xuan Qi cupped his hands at him and said, "I’m just a lowly rchant, there’s nothing much I can contribute except to make more money."
"Really?" Qian Shi asked and rubbed his chin, "I’m sure you can do much more than that.
"As a rchant, what do you think of the rebellion that happened in Hong Feng City?"
Lin Xuan Qi frowned when he heard the question.
He wasn’t going to go into his drivel about how the tax regi and corrupted officials were the main cause of it, so he tried to wriggle out of it and pass the baton over to the Governor.
"It was devastating to the businesses and livelihood of everyone in the city.
"Thankfully, the Governor was able to take control and squash it."
Lin Xuan Qi went on and briefed him on how the Governor beca much more diligent and helped to bring down the price of the rice.
"Interesting..." Qian Shi lowered his head and rubbed his chin, pondering on Governor Tan.
In Qian Shi’s mory, Governor Tan was a corrupted old fool.
It had surprised him to hear from Lin Xuan Qi about Governor Tan’s capability.
Qian Shi thought that he would have to check when he was done with the gathering.
The gathering was the usual affair for him so far, but Lin Xuan Qi had given him a sense that he was trying to undersell himself.
Qian Shi wanted to push further but when he saw Huo Fei Li safe and sound smiling at him, he decided to stop for now.
Huo Fei Li being so close to him has always made him worried with Huo Fei Li’s antics.
If Lin Xuan Qi was soone that could make Huo Fei Li more mature, it would be good enough for Qian Shi.
There were after all, much more pressing issues he had to attend to.
Lin Xuan Qi gave out a sigh to himself silently when he saw Qian Shi done with his question.
His objective for the gathering of getting the dealers and marketing his soap, had been reached and he would like to be able to enjoy it in peace.
It would be a torture for him if he had to talk about other things.
Finally, the servants ca back with the basin and a plate of braised at for Qian Shi.

One of the servant girls brought the basin with the soap and fresh water over to Qian Shi, and Qian Shi tried it out by washing his hands with it.
He raised an eyebrow when he felt his hands being squeaky clean.
And when he brought his hand to his nose, he could sll the fragrance of lavender on it.
"It is more impressive than I thought it would be." Qian Shi exclaid and the others nodded their heads in agreent.
Qian Shi had seen so many gifts to the imperial palace that he had beco numb to them, most of which are gimmicks or didn’t work as intended.
All of them were to get into favor with the emperor.
But the soap in front of him had done what was promised and Qian Shi was impressed.
He figured that his uncle, the emperor, would be very happy to receive one as a gift.
Qian Shi turned his head around, glanced at Lin Xuan Qi and exclaid, "Young master Lin, you have undersold yourself.
"I think you are more than a lowly rchant and you are indeed as talented as Huo Fei Li had told ."
Lin Xuan Qi shook his head and said, "It’s more than doing it alone.
"My buddy here, Sima Long from the Sima Family, have helped a lot with everything."
He patted Sima Long on the back and Sima Long quickly nodded his head.
Qian Shi gave Sima Long a nod and felt that Lin Xuan Qi was trying to make use of the Sima Family as an excuse to make his achievent seem smaller than it is.
He decided to pause for now and figure it out later.
Qian Shi picked up the chopstick and had a mouthful of the braised at.
And this ti, his eyes opened wide when the savory taste from the Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence hit his taste buds.
He was no stranger to the food in Yi Hong Lou and he knew how it was, but what he had in his mouth was sothing different.
It was so much more tasty and elevated.
"This is so good, even the chefs in uncle’s place aren’t as good." Qian Shi said and stuffed another mouthful of the at into his mouth.
He also thought how great it would be if he could get so of the so-called Lin Clan Taste Transcendent Essence for his uncle.
When the other young masters saw his reaction to the food, they chuckled and said, "You look exactly the sa as we did when we had a taste of it."
Young master Heng shook his head at them and said, "Nonsense, I’m sure Qian Shi would have had much better at his uncle’s place.
"It’s great to have a change of taste on so occasion."
