Now reading: Chapter 1309 Treasure Hunt? from Code Zulu Alpha: Nerd in the Apocalypse!, a Action novel by Sky2316.

As weird and bizarre this instance was to our collective groups, we still took it as a win—but the faces of these young groups when I told them that we'd spend the rest of the day cleaning up this area were fucking priceless.

As much as everyone else loved bashing their heads and unloading bullets into their rotting heads, no one wanted to clean up their shit and pick up the spent casings right after.

*bzzt*

"Oh~ You fucks want US, your superiors to clean up after you, huh? Is that it?"

*bzzt*

*bzzt*

[T-That's not—/Umm…/Well, can't you?!]

*bzzt*

[Hold up did he just said yes?]

*bzzt*

"I said fine but yeah, I'll clean for you. However, anything I'll find over there will be just mine—"

*bzzt*

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[I don't know who the fuck you are, Joe—this is JP, by the way—but all the shit we're using belongs to them. We're a group. We stay in the sa spot, we look out for everyone else and they look out for us. That's the way it works. Including the spoils.]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[Psh, sounds like communism to .]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"A little, yeah. But you still keep so of your shit. Much, much~ better than taking all of them, no?"

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[Uh-huh. Just saying what's on my mind, sir.]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"You sound like you woke up in the wrong side of the bed, Joe. I'll tell you what: we'll stay here for one more night and if you're still pissed off about the redistribution of spoils and resources, you can put it all on ."

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[What are you implying, sir?]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"I'mma try to pick your brain about this but if you're not on the smart side, we can always bet stuff and the winner takes the cake. Heck, I'll even allow you to do it with my dogs. How about that?"

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[Hmph. I dunno about fighting a superior officer but I'm down to take a crack with your group. I mostly got what I want from mine.]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"Then you aren't jack shit yet. I would've taken everything I wanted by yesterday, not mostly."

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[I'm just being considerate, sir. I'd also love a challenge.]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"Then prepare so fucking ice and Ibuprofen in advance. Don't tell I didn't warn ya."

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[You seem confident… sir.]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"I am. I have deep pockets, too."

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[I hope, sir.]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"Heh. But if you lose everything, you'll be switching teams. Deal?"

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

[You'd actually have , sir?]

*bzzt*

-

*bzzt*

"Sure, I like honest people like you— An honest asshole, but yeah, I'm an asshole too, so… Anyway~ Why don't you fucks clean up that ss first before we talk? Fuck it, I'll even help— everyone in my crew help these kids. I can't just sit around and do nothing."

With that said, I really did jump to the train platform from the fire truck's extending platform—but it was more because of I wanted to take a closer look at those sitting ducks rather than picking up cases from the ground.

Still, despite how much I squinted and dug around their blackened and greened flesh, I had no fucking clue as to why these poor motherfuckers decided to get run over and get their bodies ripped apart by those bobcats.

However, I couldn't help but laugh at these kids' faces when I found shit from the stuff they didn't care to check—or didn't have the stomach to.

Because yeah, I found a loaded .38 Special with loose ammo, a knife, a pack of moldy weed, and a prescription of Oxycontin under the rotting at products from this defrosted freezer before I uncovered a bug-out bag—from the n's bathroom's vent—tightly wrapped in plastic sheets that had a ton of essential items.

"Huh. Whaddayouknow?"

"No fucking way— you planted those there!"

"No shot!"

"What's in it?! What's in it?!"

"Check the other vents! God fucking dammit!"

Obviously, I ca to possess another wheel gun that takes .357 Magnum rounds and a good ol' 1911—which were things everyone else would've loved to uncover themselves from a clean-up session—but what I'm more surprised about was that it seed like this goody bag were goody… bags.

Because from the things I uncovered from this bag were sealed copies of legal docunts, cash, pictures, and above all these was a map pointing to several places where sothing could be hidden or be a place soone could hunker down for maybe a week or two if they so needed.

But yeah, the first thing I did was have Ilana and June check out the na—or should I say the different nas—of the person on this ID with the sa picture of a 50-year-old dude, but on another note, I might just find out if this dude's alive by dialing the number on the back of one of the photos.

'Hmm… Not now… But those other stations though…'

So before anyone else could see what I saw, I just wore a blank face before I started skipping and making my way to the stations Artem and company cleared. I wasn't even sure if they had found those bug-out bags but if those things contained the sa stuff as the one I found did, it should've been made known to or else I'd have to give Artem a good talking to.

Without issue, I inford Iskoh, Morales, and the old man that I needed to check on the few stations in LRT Line 1 for sothing important—and since everyone else was just cleaning this place up—they didn't mind it as much.

Of course, they were also making use of our extra ti to subjugate, loot, and lock up the closer buildings or facilities though there should always be a person who would overlook everything that's happening in the EDSA Station.

Still, JP or Tennyson could handle that job—heck, even Aaron, and it didn't take long before Gil Puyat Station, the second station driving up if you'd co from EDSA Station.

Obviously, we blocked off the available entrances with a solid door and a solid lock—even going beyond by making sure no one could easily climb to the side by also blocking them off with sheet tal. But yeah, we also left the place with relays and surveillance systems so that we'd know when people or things tried to get in or you know, got in and took this place as their own.

And as I left, Ilana, June, Ibarra, and Quinn to guard our truck, everyone else followed upstairs.

"You saying Artem missed a rucksack like that filled with goodies?" Tatiana asked.

"Yep."

"And you didn't ask them if they missed them?"

"Yep."

"Why?"

"I an— I wouldn't mind them taking the spoils for themselves but it could've at least been put in a report."

"Trust , they wouldn't hide—"

"I do trust you—and them too, of course. That's why I'm saying they missed it. It wouldn't make sense for them to hide this particular find because they could easily request those things and I'll give it to them."

"So where is it then?"

"Around this station. Just have to find another vent or sothing…"

"There's no specific location as to where it is?"

"Yeah. The one who put it there just put this chest logo in the EDSA Station. I went from there and assud that the chest logos in here could be the sa."

"Huh. This place isn't as big though, where could he—"

Kaley cut in, "He could be a worker here, no?"

Tatiana asked, "What do you an?"

I nodded pensively, "Right… Those sensors could've picked them up. And there are better places to put them in aside from train stations. There are other places where the chest logo is present but most of them are placed here."

"How many are there in total?"

"There are five here in LRT Line 1, three around the area, and two further out where one is out of our territory."

"What are the other logos?"

"This one looks like a house, no?"

"Sure."

"So I'm guessing his safe houses and this might be his bug-out vehicles. But if you'd look here, there are areas he crossed out as not safe for travel while there's this singular logo here close to the one out of our territory with this wheel-looking thing."

Then Quinn suddenly popped out from behind, "Wheel? Isn't that a logo for a latch?"
