Nahua kept trailing her fingers over her forearm. The rounded tips of her digits glided over the smooth, hairless, glistening skin. “Everything is a bit… tingly now. What would it feel like if you touched ?” the axolotl woman wondered.
“Warm,” Momo answered for the Gar. “A little bit more tingly, but overall not that much different compared to before.”
Stretching out her hand, it seed as if Nahua was going to grab John’s arm and test it. Instead, she inspected her fingers. “I could love now… but I am infertile? Do I understand that correctly?”
“Your new body is an approximation of your old, but Artificial Spirits mimic humans in form, not in function. The only internal organs you possess are those necessary to speak and those ‘necessary’ to have a fun ti. Both are because of how I use the Skill,” the Gar gave her a wordy answer. Hesitantly, he added, “I’m sorry.”
“It’s a strange interplay of emotions,” Nahua answered, her tone distant and thoughtful. “I denied myself romance. I knew my heart was- is capable of attachnts. I love my father and I love my people. I t n before that I found interesting enough to enjoy their company, god-warriors and farrs alike. I never took it further. I knew I could not offer them all that they would have desired. John got the feeling she was deliberately not looking at him as she said that. Perhaps that was just him wanting to see a growing attachnt to him growing in her. Fact was that her eyes were glued to the corner of the table. A smile grew on her face, taking on a sharp and yet lancholic character as it stretched.
“If I stuck to you, I suppose you could fix that issue too?”

“I get the gist of it.” The Gar repressed the urge to ruffle her hair. He had done enough damage to their platonic relationship for the day. Instead, his steps took him to his privileged spot on the other end of the table, right between Aclysia and Ehtra. One maid leaned onto him with all of the love of a dragon maid, the other crossed her arms and harumphed, even as she wiggled her butt as close as it could get.
John looked around the table. In addition to those two, Momo, Nahua, Gno, Sylph, Salamander, Undine, Siena, Hailey, Scarlett, Rave and tra were present. Stirwin, Copernicus, and Velka co-existed around a small mountain of at. Nia was gone. John had no idea when, but she was gone now.
“Alright, there’s good and bad news,” John addressed the crowd. “As you are well aware of, we have been making wonderful progress on going down the checklist of extra enemies we were supposed to beat. We are only missing Xipe-Totec now. However, we are in a bad situation regarding the seals. We have broken one first, while Norahnon has broken two first. If he gets one more, it’ll be impossible for us to clear the condition and get the Mythical Ichor.”
Scarlett impatiently drumd a steady staccato on the table. “So, what’s the plan?”
“Honestly?” John drew out the answer on purpose. “Overwhelming firepower.”
“Nah.” Rave laughed, dismissively shaking her hand all the while. “That’s too simple for ya, what’s the actual plan?”
“That is the actual plan,” John elaborated. “We don’t know what the remaining two trials are, so we can hardly prepare for them. With tra with us, we are now by far the strongest force in this field. We can muscle our way around. From now on our only goal is getting the remaining two seals and, if Xipe-Totec shows, beat him to a pulp. We’ll all move together to the seal next ti it activates. The superior defensible position is now a secondary priority.”
“Not like the skeleton attacks have been of much concern anyway,” Momo weighed in.
“They’re of no concern.” Ehtra pulled her shoulders back, pushing up her tits with her crossed arms in the process. “Creatures unliving, barely worth the effort of cutting them down. They will burn in my presence.”
“Do they actually?” John asked.
Ehtra gave him the ‘idiot’ stare and he gave her a boob squeeze in return. “It is a stupid question,” she doubled down, while doing nothing to keep his palm from circling on her round breast. “My aura does not burn things.”
“It would be very gay if it did. Presence of an angel burning the undead and all of that… anyway!” The Gar cleared his throat. “That’s my plan for the next two days. I anticipate so competition for the next seal, but very little after that.”
“Why’s that?” Rave asked.
“Xipe-Totec said at the beginning that whoever breaks the most seals gets to et Huitzilopochtli first. The current score is 2 for Norahnon, 1 for us, and 0 for everyone else. 2 seals remain. If no other faction manages to break the seal first on the next segnt, it will be impossible for them to even tie for first place, so their motivation to do so will likely drop.”
“I don’t see that working for Glory,” Scarlett drily remarked. “Liakan, however, will probably spare herself the resources.”
“One down already makes this much easier.” John leaned back and Sylph took that as her cue to zap across and land on his lap. “I didn’t close the eting yet,” he softly reprimanded her.

Ehtra wore a sour expression of the utmost forced variety. The smile broke through despite her quivering eyebrows, and when he kissed the knit of her brow, she just lted away. “Whatever!” she exclaid, and reciprocated his hug.
That was the initiation of the proper cuddle pile. The Gar found himself swaying left to right with the angel in his arms, then with an angel and a wolf woman in his arms. The problem in John’s life was that he did not have enough arms to hold all of his loves. He was far from done hugging the two tracanas, but he could not let the others wait either. John got two good blows in before Rave turned the tables on him. From there any sort of sense was lost. ‘And I missed out on the mobile CD player era,’ he thought to himself. “Ti sure marches on.”
“Thankfully.” Rave stretched sowhere else on the soft surface. John couldn’t see her, but he did hear her squeaking as she moved the muscles in her body. “Wouldn’t do if we got stuck in this mont. Half of us are missing.”
“That ain’t how we do eternity,” Hailey agreed.
“I’m cuddling everyone else,” John inford them.
Scarlett shook her head. “It’s not the sa if it’s not all of us all at once.”
To that, John could only agree.
“Master, a question.” Aclysia poked her head into his field of view. Silver-white hair fell, the curve of her horns parting many of the strands. They caught the artificial light in the room. She was gorgeous. “Do you plan to make Nahua one of us?”
The Gar groaned at the question. He had planned to bring it up himself, that was the reason why he had even sealed up the exit. Now that it was ti for it, he sat up. John did actually try his best not to flirt with her, much as he failed at that. Almost went a bit too far earlier, but I was there to prevent that. I’m not totally displeased with the developnt so far.” White eyes moved from one face to another. “We all agree on the core problem, right?”
“Master’s attention is limited,” Aclysia spoke it out loud. That it was her added an extra layer to it all. A warning that could not go unheard. “I believe you deserve all you wish for, Master. I also believe that I deserve your ti.”
A reminder to keep his ambition in check.
John nodded. He had all of this bouncing around at the back of his mind at all tis. It was still good to hear it from their mouths again. It kept it all fresh and urgent.
