At the end of the day, if you’re not proud, little else matters.
But to feel proud, you have to take matters in your hand.

Milo didn’t wake up when Coin shook her and called her.
He was about to do sothing about that but Zane suggested that if he called her, then she would wake up.
The Emberlord agreed but he warned the brother.
If Milo didn’t wake up after Zane called her then he would take matters in his own hands. And when the Emberlord takes matters in his own hands...
"The matter resolves itself."
Zane nodded. Slowly.
The Emberlord had called his scythe to his hand again and Zane didn’t know what he would do with it for Milo’s case.
Nevertheless, Zane didn’t want to know that.
The Emberlord shifted to the side and Zane had a clear view of Milo now.
He was standing twenty steps away from her and he didn’t move forward. He had promised that he would call Milo from his spot.
So he did just that.
He had only one shot and he would pour everything he had inside himself.
He placed his hands around his mouth, leaned forward towards Milo and hollered:
"Milo! Wake up! It’s , Zane! You have to wake up! Everything is safe! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Milo! Wake up! Milo! Wake up! It’s Zane! Wake up! Wake up for ! Everything is okay! Wake up! Wake up! Wake the hell uppp!! Wake up—"
"Enough!" The Emberlord erupted.
"No. She will wake up. Let call her more!"
"I don’t have all day. You are making too much noise. She will not wake up like this."
"Milo! Wake up!"
Zane shouted once more and the Emberlord held the side of his head.
The people in the Cathedral watched the scene with anticipation as they didn’t know what the Emberlord would do.
"Wake up! Milo!"

The Emberlord jolted his head at Zane but then he frowned.
Zane wasn’t the one who shouted this ti.
Both Coin and Zane turned around and they found the culprit.
Zane shook his head.
The Emberlord sighed and ignored it.
Tesla smacked his head as it was none other than Xavier who shouted.
The man was not fearing anything anymore.
The Emberlord had especially demanded silence and Xavier broke just that and called for the little girl as well. All because she was related to Zane.
Zane valued the loyalty of Xaivier but the loyalty wasn’t helping him right now.
His sister was in danger.
After all those shouts, Milo didn’t wake up, she didn’t even move a finger. She simply laid on the red carpet, her face hidden, her leg bleeding and her chest heaving up and down.
Zane wanted to shout more but he was afraid of the Emberlord snapping and doing sothing he couldn’t handle.
The Emberlord had shown great patience with everything that went on in the Cathedral in the last few minutes and Zane knew everyone had a breaking point.
If Coin was defied for long enough, he would show why was he obeyed in the first place.
Tesla also had the sa notion as Zane so he wrapped his hand around Xavier’s mouth.
"How are you even able to fight with your current health? What kind of monster are you?"
Xavier had an upset stomach and yet the way he shouted and fought with Varikh, no one would be able to guess the man had an illness like that.
anwhile, after all the shouts, the Emberlord again ca in front of Milo.
He blocked Milo from Zane’s vision but the gutterborn shifted to the side to see what Coin would do.
The Emberlord didn’t mind Zane seeing as he never intended to block his vision. In fact, Zane Atlas should see what Coin was about to do.
Firstly, the Emberlord let go of his scythe and that simple act caused murmurs in the Cathedral.
Not because Coin let go of his scythe, but because the scythe didn’t fall.
It remained standing upright with nothing to rest on.
Zane also saw it and seeing it, he thought if the scythe could stand on its own, why did the Emberlord use the podium earlier?
"It’s because I wasn’t using my powers earlier. But now I have to."
Zane’s brows shot up.
The Emberlord answered the question Zane had in mind.
Coin was smart enough to know what the gutterborn would be thinking.
As the scythe stood on its own, the Emberlord reached out his left hand again towards Milo.
Zane focused and he was ready to pounce on the Emberlord if Milo suffered sothing life threatening. If Milo died, he would also die but not without harming the Emberlord.
Coin rested his hand on Milo’s head once more, caressing her wet hair.
Zane believed he would use so kind of skill to make Milo awake but he underestimated the human touch.

Grabbed Milo’s hair in his fist.
Zane flinched.
His eyes widened.
His fist clenched.
"Calm down, Zane Atlas." The Emberlord spoke.
Silence reigned in the Cathedral.
"I haven’t even begun."
The Emberlord wasted no ti and with his clenched fist, he pulled Milo’s hair.
The little girl’s face raised above from the floor and for the first ti, everyone saw her face.
But when Zane saw her face, his heart dropped to the pits of his stomach.
Milo’s pupils were missing.
Her eyes were blank.
Only whiteness existed behind them.
The Emberlord and everyone else frowned but Zane, Zane knew what it was.
"Get away!" He yelled.
"What is wrong with this girl, Zane Atlas?" The Emberlord asked, his voice grim.
Zane’s back drenched in sweat.
The Emberlord didn’t know what Zane knew.
When Milo’s eyes went like that...
"Answer , Zane Atl—"
"Aughhh!"
DRIP!
GASP!
Milo vomited blood on the Emberlord.
Right inside the Cathedral, Milo covered the godman with her blood.
The audience didn’t know what they witnessed.
The Emberlord dripped with thick red blood from head to toe.
He remained holding Milo’s hairs, his face hidden by his drenched hair.
Tesla couldn’t believe his eyes.
Xavier had a frown on his face.
Kairon’s mouth went agape.
And Zane...
Zane was terrified of the next words that would co out of the Emberlord’s mouth.
"Hah."
The Emberlord let out a sigh.
He turned his head around and with his blood soaked face, he stared at Zane.
And for the love of everything holy, the next words did co. And Zane was right to be terrified of them.
"Your sister is a demon, Zane Atlas. For the sake of light to not perish..."
Coin clenched Milo’s hair harder.
"She shall be purged right now."
