David and Dr Parkins remained silent. It was the sa thought that had been troubling them since the discovery.

If this creature existed, it raised a troubling question.

Was it the only one?

Or were there more of these sealed sowhere around the world?

Finally, David spoke. "Dr Parkins, continue studying it."

"I refuse to believe sothing exists without a weakness. If we can’t find one, then we’ll develop a thod to counter it."

Dr Parkins nodded. "I’ll do my best."

Luis remained silent for a mont while looking at the drifting white substance.

This discovery clearly wasn’t sothing that existed in the original ga storyline he rembered. That ant the future might hold unknown dangers like this one that the ga had never revealed.

After thinking for a mont, Luis spoke again.

"Dr Parkins, I’d like a small sample of this thing."

Dr Parkins frowned imdiately and glanced at Ronald and David.

"Are you sure?" she asked. "If even a fragnt escapes, it could beco a serious problem."

Luis answered calmly. "Don’t worry. I won’t let it escape from my lab."

Ronald thought about Luis’ laboratory inside his pocket space and nodded slightly.

"That place should be secure enough," he said. "Give him a small sample. I’ll supervise it personally."

With Ronald’s assurance, Dr Parkins’ hesitation eased.

"Fine," she said while preparing the extraction equipnt.

"I’ll trust you on this.

Selvas City.

This city was not particularly famous on the global stage.

However, within the eastern region of the Aiverson Empire, it was well known as a major hub for trade. Even superior to Tuxel City.

Countless ships passed through its harbours every month, carrying goods from distant lands and exporting them across the empire. The massive import and export industry surrounding Selvas had brought prosperity to the region and made the city an important comrcial centre.

But that prosperity was only the surface.

Behind the clean ledgers and legal transactions, there existed another world entirely—one far darker and far more dangerous.

At the heart of that hidden world stood the Norowa Trading Company.

Officially, it was one of the largest trading corporations operating in Selvas City. Its warehouses dominated the harbour district, and its cargo fleets moved continuously between ports. To outsiders, it appeared to be a legitimate business empire.

In truth, the entire company was nothing more than a front.

Behind the respectable na of Norowa Trading Company stood the Norwish Mafia.

Through this organisation, a vast network of illegal activities operated under the cover of legitimate trade.

Human trafficking, organ harvesting, slave transportation, arms smuggling, narcotics distribution, illegal mineral trading, money laundering, counterfeit goods, usury, and countless other criminal enterprises all flowed through the sa channels.

For years, this system had operated smoothly.

The Norwish Mafia had entrenched itself deeply within Selvas City and gradually grew into one of the four most powerful gangs controlling the region.

Their influence was imnse. For a long ti, nothing seed capable of shaking their position.

But eight months ago, sothing changed.

A stranger arrived in Selvas City.

No one knew his background. No one knew where he ca from.

He only introduced himself with a single title.

The Dark Magician.

Since his arrival, the already murky waters of Selvas City had beco even more chaotic.

And soon, those waters would stir even more.

---

At the port base controlled by the Norwish Mafia, the night was unusually quiet.

Under the cover of darkness, two shadows moved silently across the compound.

Their movents were swift and careful, slipping through the blind spots of surveillance caras and avoiding the patrol routes of guards with practised precision. They leapt across rooftops and passed over narrow ledges between buildings, navigating the base as if they were already familiar with its layout.

Clearly, this was not their first ti here.

Soon, the two figures approached one of the buildings deeper inside the compound.

Unlike the surrounding structures, this building had a noticeably more luxurious appearance. The windows were frad with polished tal, and faint lights illuminated the elegant interior design within.

It was obvious that whoever stayed here held a higher status than the ordinary mbers stationed around the base.

The two shadows, however, did not spare the lavish surroundings a second glance.

"Just about there," one of them whispered, gesturing ahead.

The other gave a small nod.

Monts later, they arrived near a large reinforced door.

The door was locked from the outside.

Two guards were stationed there, sitting casually beside it.

"Do it," one of the shadows gestured. "I’ll keep watch."

The other nodded and began preparing sothing.

---

The two guards sitting outside the door were chatting idly.

"Hey... don’t you find it strange?" one of them asked.

"Strange?" the other replied lazily. "What are you talking about?"

"The miss inside."

The guard nodded toward the locked door behind them.

"For the past few days, she hasn’t caused any trouble."

The other guard frowned slightly.

"What do you an?"

"Normally, she’d be trying to escape every other day," the first guard explained. "Or at least shouting curses at the boss all night."

He scratched his head.

"But recently... nothing. I haven’t even heard her voice at night."

The second guard considered this for a mont before nodding slowly.

"Now that you ntion it... Yeah, she does seem different."

Then his expression turned serious.

"But it’s none of our business. And watch your mouth."

He lowered his voice.

"If the boss finds out you’ve been talking about him behind his back, you won’t end well."

The first guard let out a sigh.

"Does the boss even care anymore?"

The other guard imdiately looked uneasy.

"What do you an by that?"

"Ever since that mysterious person showed up," the first guard said quietly, "the boss has practically stopped paying attention to the business."

He leaned closer and continued. "Everyone in the organisation is more worried about being branded by those Curse Marks now."

The second guard fell silent upon hearing this.

Clearly, he understood exactly what the other ant.
