He halted his steps and casually glanced at her.
Alice Robinson spoke, "You said... you can help , right?"
Chester Robinson nodded.
Alice was very excited, habitually reaching out to hold his arm, "Just right, I have to go to the law firm. You accompany !"
Chester said nothing.
Alice didn’t realize her action until she finished speaking. She froze for a mont and slowly let go of Chester.
Chester began walking forward again, calmly saying, "My help cos with conditions."
Alice stood confused in place.
What conditions?
He seed not to lack anything; even money, she knew he had as much as Howard Geoffrey and Skyler Jones.
Then, what was he lacking?
Chester put on his watch, his thin lips eased, "If you can do it, I promise the Robinson inheritance will wholly and entirely be under your na."
Alice stepped forward and asked, "What do you want to do?"
Chester glanced at Alice, "Give up Rachel’s custody."
"What did you say?" Alice’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Chester repeated in his pleasant male voice, "Give up Rachel’s custody."
Alice’s slender body suddenly stepped back a bit, her eyes widened further, murmuring, "You want to give up Rachel’s custody?"
"Yes."
"Impossible!!" Alice reacted fiercely, rejecting outright, "No one can take Rachel’s custody from ; she is my daughter."
Chester calmly stated, "Maybe I should remind you—I am the child’s father."
Alice shouted, "But you don’t even like children!!" She still rembered their argunt in T City... how he detested her and the child.
"I told you long ago, whether I like it or not, my daughter will eventually co back to ."
"Impossible..." Alice shook her head vigorously, "I gave birth to the child, and the custody is with . No one can take her away from ."
Indeed, when Alice gave birth to Rachel, Rachel’s father’s column was blank, so except for those who knew the true relationship between Chester and Alice, no one would know Chester was Rachel’s father. Chester naturally wouldn’t have legal custody of Rachel unless he was willing to reveal his relationship with Alice.
Chester calmly expressed, "I hope you consider carefully... between your daughter and the vast Robinson inheritance, you are destined to choose only one."
His aning was clear: if she were willing to relinquish Rachel’s custody, he would help her preserve the Robinson inheritance.
"I don’t need to consider. Even if I have nothing, I will not give up Rachel’s custody."
Alice’s answer slightly surprised Chester. He squinted his eyes, scrutinizing her, "Are you sure?"
"A thousand tis a million tis sure!!" Alice’s voice was hoarse with emotion, "From the day I chose to give birth to Rachel, she has been my everything, no matter what, I will never choose to give her up."
"If you have nothing, how can you support her?"
"I have hands and feet. I will find work. Even if I starve myself, I will not let Rachel starve."
