Alice Robinson held Rachel and imdiately went downstairs.
While Rachel was indulging herself in the dining room under the servant’s care, Alice leaned against the sofa in the hall, looking despondent.
Aunt PA walked over at so point, interrupting her thoughts, "Miss."
Alice snapped back, "Huh?"
Aunt PA said, "You didn’t eat anything at noon either, do you want sothing to eat?"
Alice shook her head, "I’m not hungry."
Aunt PA bit her lip, "Mr. Robinson treating you like this is really too much..."
Alice didn’t answer. After a long pause, she calmly said to Aunt PA, "Aunt PA, I want to move out of here."
"Ah?"
"This ho is no longer my forr ho..."
"But..."
"Aunt PA..." Alice reached out and held Aunt PA’s hand, "I don’t want to stay here anymore; I don’t want to run into him again..."
"But if you leave here, where can you go? Besides, all the Robinson family’s money is now controlled by Mr. Robinson. How will you live after leaving?"
"I can rent a place in Paris and then find a job..."
"But..." Aunt PA hesitated, "Miss, you seem to have never worked outside before. How about we ask Mr. Robinson to give you the thirty percent assets you own, and then we can move out, okay?"
"I don’t want to wait anymore..." Tears welled up in Alice’s reddening eyes as she choked, "Sooner or later, I have to learn to stand on my own in this society, without relying on my family... I hope this will be the last ti I cry."
That night, Alice moved out of the Robinson mansion.
Before leaving, Alice didn’t fantasize that he would care, and facts proved he indeed did not care.
A few days after she moved out of the Robinson family ho, she got news from the Robinson’s servant that he left Paris the next day and went to New York.
Obviously, her departure had no effect on him whatsoever.
She wasn’t sad, nor was she upset, because she had long known it would end this way.
Fortunately, she didn’t let herself sink unfettered.
Two months later.
She took a taxi from the hotel where she worked back to her apartnt.
After leaving the Robinson ho, she found this apartnt from a rental ad in the newspaper.
The apartnt naturally couldn’t compare to the luxury of the Robinson ho, but it was peaceful and elegant, so she paid two years’ rent to live here.
During the day, she stayed ho with Rachel; at night, she would go to the five-star hotel where she had been working for over half a month to play the piano.
Talking about this job, it’s truly not easy.
At the ti when she just moved out of the Robinson ho, she was at a loss, not knowing how she could stand on her own in this society. The only thing she knew was that she had to find a job to truly beco independent and strong and not be a parasite of society.
For more than a month, she tried applying for various jobs.
Because she had no work experience, even though she had a degree, companies rejected her.
Later, she considered the service industry. Although this industry had so threshold to get in, unfortunately, it was too exhausting and left almost no ti for her to be with Rachel, so she started looking for work that only required evening hours.
Eventually, she found a job she is currently very satisfied with. The work isn’t very tiring, and it leaves plenty of ti at ho — a pianist.
She had been practicing piano since childhood, so she was confident when applying as a pianist. As expected, the manager of this five-star hotel accepted her, allowing her to beco a capable employee of the hotel.
Her job was to play the piano every night in the lobby for hotel guests entering and exiting.
The hotel created this position to foster an elegant environnt.
She was very grateful to have landed this job because, at least for now, she is quite satisfied with her work.
"Rachel, co hug mommy, mommy has to go to work now. You have to be good and listen to Aunt PA at ho, okay!"
At six thirty in the evening, Alice kissed Rachel, reluctantly saying goodbye to her daughter.
Rachel obediently nodded, the little girl, whose speech was growing more fluent, seriously commanded, "Mommy, you have to co back early..."
"Mm, co, give mommy a kiss."
After Rachel gave her a smacking kiss on the cheek, Alice happily waved goodbye to Rachel, turned away from ho, and left Rachel with Aunt PA, who had moved out with her from the Robinson ho.
At seven o’clock in the evening, wearing a white evening gown, Alice sat on ti in front of the piano in the lobby.
She really liked the environnt here, so working until ten did not feel tiring. Sotis, while playing the piano, she felt her heart could calm down.
