Alice Robinson gave Aunt PA a slight smile, "Don’t worry, Aunt PA, I don’t feel tired. Instead, I think my life is just beginning to have aning."
Alice discovered sothing very strange. Every night when she played the piano, the handso and composed man would always sit on the sofa opposite.
Having seen many wealthy people from a young age, she knew from their first eting that this man had deep qualities and was not lacking in wealth. However, he must be extrely low-key, because a man with such exceptional looks, if truly wealthy, wouldn’t be so anonymous in the business world.
Harboring such thoughts, Alice completed her final performance of the day.
As she was clocking out of the card room, her gaze inadvertently glanced over at the man who had been sitting there listening to her play from seven to ten o’clock.
What could be this man’s purpose? Why did he co to listen to her play piano every night? She didn’t believe a wealthy, entrepreneurial man would maintain such a casual flirtation thod.
Like the past week, Alice didn’t go over to speak a word to the man, and the man always just sat on the sofa; she couldn’t see what kind of expression he had.
After Alice entered the card room, the assistant walked over to Claud Laurence’s side and spoke softly, "General Laurence, I’ve looked into her records..."
Claud Laurence waved his hand.
The assistant stopped talking.
Claud Laurence softly opened his thin lips, "Not important."
The assistant imdiately nodded and said, "General Laurence, if you don’t act soon you’ll be leaving Paris tonight, wouldn’t it be..."
Claud Laurence said no more, quietly watching a slender figure exit the card room and walk straight out of the hotel.
Seeing Alice already leaving, the assistant was anxious, "Boss, should I go and ask Miss Robinson to co over..."
"No need."
At that mont, Claud Laurence took a pen from his suit pocket, pulled out a piece of note paper from the hotel’s table, and wrote a few words on it.
Just as Alice was about to leave the hotel, Claud Laurence handed the note to the assistant.
The assistant imdiately understood, received the note, and then ran to chase after Alice.
Suddenly being stopped, Alice was startled.
"Hello, Miss Robinson." The man was out of breath, greeting her respectfully.
Alice rembered this man, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
The man cald his breath and seriously said to Alice, "Miss Robinson, this is from my boss."
Seeing the note the man was handing over, Alice was stunned for a mont.
The man slipped the note into Alice’s palm, not forgetting to add, "Our boss is popular with many won."
The man didn’t dare reveal much, bowed one last ti to Alice, and then left.
Alice stared blankly at the note in her hand, driven by instinctive curiosity, she opened it.
She never expected the note to have only three words – Claud Laurence.
Claud Laurence?
Seeing those words, Alice felt an inexplicable stirring in her heart.
So this man’s na is Claud Laurence, it really matches his deanor.
But isn’t this man a bit too arrogant? Even if it was a flirtation, leaving only a na isn’t typical.
Alice looked up towards where the man was, discovering he had already left. She searched around and found his figure at the hotel’s VVIP elevator.
His back was tall and erect, a dark suit accentuating his extraordinary bearing. What did it an for him to leave this note for her?
Alice had to admit, this man disturbed her mind, causing her to mistakenly tell the taxi driver the wrong location, ending up arriving ho only at eleven thirty.
Aunt PA was already waiting at the door for her, only relaxing once she saw her enter the house.
"Miss, why are you back so late today?"
"Oh, I told the driver the wrong address."
"You seem preoccupied... what’s wrong, trouble at work?"
Alice shook her head, changed into slippers, and said, "It’s nothing, has Rachel slept?"
Aunt PA said, "Not yet, she insisted you tell her a story, even so sleepy she couldn’t keep her eyes open, she refused to sleep..."
Alice handed her bag to Aunt PA and walked into the room with a smile.
Rachel was indeed not asleep yet, and the mont she saw Alice, she stretched out her arms for a hug.
Her heart felt an inexplicable pang, Alice picked Rachel up, kissed her, and said, "Why aren’t you asleep again? Didn’t Mommy tell you to listen to Aunt PA?"
