Howard Geoffrey paused and asked with his usual cool deanor, even towards his current girlfriend.
The car interior was silent and enclosed, so Alice Robinson’s voice wasn’t low, and Rebecca Quentin could hear it clearly.
"What have you been busy with lately? I haven’t seen you for a while... I’m at your place now, co ho and keep company!"
"I’ve been busy with work."
"But Jason Wood told that you’re not at the company, you’re not even in New York."
"Is there sothing you need?"
"I just miss you a lot, and I want to see you!"
Howard Geoffrey was silent for a mont. Rebecca Quentin sat quietly beside him, outwardly calm, but holding her breath.

"When will you be free? I’ll wait for you at your place..."

"No need, drop off by the roadside. There’s not much distance left; I’ll go back myself... You should return to New York early to accompany your girlfriend!" Rebecca Quentin said with an unchanged calm tone.
Howard Geoffrey didn’t say another word along the way. When the car reached outside the house, Howard Geoffrey stopped the car and turned to look at Rebecca Quentin, "Take care of yourself."
Rebecca Quentin’s previously calm expression stiffened, "I don’t need you to say that." She replied as she opened the car door and got out.
She no longer feels jealousy now.
She had promised herself, and had resolved that she would let go of her six years of feelings for Howard Geoffrey little by little, and would never cling to them again.
Howard Geoffrey got out of the car, took out the things they bought from the car.
Rebecca Quentin took the purchased items from Howard Geoffrey and turned to leave.
Howard Geoffrey gazed at her slender back for a long ti and then suddenly got back into the car.
Rebecca Quentin dazedly stepped onto the steps, and from behind ca the sound of the car leaving.
When no sound of the car could be heard in her ears anymore, Rebecca Quentin turned around and looked in the direction where the car disappeared.
A sharp pain crossed her heart, and she bit her lip tightly.
