Howard Geoffrey continued to fasten his shirt cufflink, impatiently uttering, "Speak."

Jason Wood glanced at Roye, who then mustered the courage to say, "Uh, we were watching the news from yesterday... It was about you and Miss Quentin."

Howard Geoffrey’s hand paused for a mont. "Go on."

Roye swallowed nervously before slowly saying, "Well... Miss Quentin attended a charity dinner yesterday. She reportedly used your card to spend thirty million on several pieces of jewelry, all of which she then donated to the organizers. The organizers later interviewed Miss Quentin and asked her, ’Why does Mr. Geoffrey indulge you by letting you spend money so freely?’ Miss Quentin’s reply to them was, ’If a woman isn’t satisfied in certain aspects, a man naturally has to satisfy her with money.’"

Rebecca Quentin leaned against the headboard, leisurely browsing a baby-care guide.

Suddenly, her cell phone rang.

Rebecca Quentin answered the call while still looking at the guide, "Hello..."

"Honey, I saw today’s paper! You were absolutely amazing at the BASA banquet last night..."

Rebecca Quentin replied modestly, "It’s such a trivial sum; he probably won’t make a fuss about it!"

Isabella Joanna burst into laughter. "You call that trivial? You’re burning money! You burned thirty million of our Mr. Geoffrey’s money!"

Rebecca Quentin chuckled.

Isabella Joanna continued, "Uh, there’s a little question I wanted to ask you..."

"Hmm, what is it?"

Isabella Joanna then read Rebecca Quentin the explosive news she’d seen in the paper and carefully asked for confirmation, "So, um... is it that your ’appetite’ is too big, or is Howard... really not up to par in that departnt?"

For a second, Rebecca Quentin’s face flushed with embarrassnt. She initially wanted to explain things to her friend, but on second thought... Instead, she gave an answer that only made things sound worse: "Actually, he was fine during the first year of our marriage, but this past year..."

Isabella Joanna, apparently unwilling to accept this, asked in return, "But you’re pregnant?!"

"My dear, being pregnant only proves he has male reproductive function; it doesn’t an he has male staying power."

"Oh my God..." Isabella Joanna sounded like she was collapsing. "The most perfect man in my mind... Rebecca Quentin, I hate you!"

"Uh..."

BEEP, BEEP—

Before Rebecca Quentin could finish, Isabella Joanna had already hung up.

Tossing her phone to the other side of the bed, Rebecca Quentin lay down contentedly. Perhaps it was because she was in a good mood, but she had no trouble with insomnia that night. Soon, she drifted off to sleep.

「The next day.」

In the Quentin family hall, Isabella Joanna slouched despondently on the couch, her eyes lacking their usual sparkle.

Rebecca Quentin, head lowered, flipped through her pregnancy guide and asked, "Isabella, where do you think I should give birth?"

"Whatever..."

"Abroad or in T City?"

"Whatever..."

Listening to her friend’s dismissive answers, Rebecca Quentin lifted her head to look at her and said, irritated, "Is it really worth being so dispirited just because your illusions about Howard Geoffrey have been shattered?"

"AHH!" Isabella Joanna scread, clutching her head in frustration. "Rebecca Quentin, you’d better shut up, or I’ll kill you!"

"Alright, alright, I’ll stop. You go on and lick your wounds."

Just as Rebecca Quentin leaned back against the sofa, ready to continue reading, a maid with a beaming smile hurried over to her. "Miss..."

Without lifting her head, Rebecca Quentin responded, "Hmm?"

"Mr. Geoffrey is here..."

"Huh?" Rebecca Quentin’s head snapped up. Turning, she saw Howard Geoffrey walking in.

Isabella Joanna shot up, her body stiffening, as she stared in disbelief at the distinguished figure she had only ever seen on TV and in magazines.

The next second, Howard Geoffrey swiftly grabbed Rebecca Quentin, who was trying to flee, and without a word, swept her into his arms.

Isabella Joanna covered her mouth in shock, watching as Howard Geoffrey carried Rebecca Quentin straight upstairs.

The entire way, Rebecca Quentin struggled and cursed, "Howard Geoffrey, put down! You lunatic! Bastard!"

Then, with a SLAM, the door shut, drowning out all of Rebecca Quentin’s furious curses. SLAM! The door was closed...

Rebecca Quentin hamred at him with all her strength, but it didn’t seem to cause Howard Geoffrey any pain at all. The next mont, Howard Geoffrey tumbled onto the large bed in the room, still holding her in his arms...
