His tone at this mont carried a gentle sorrow she had never heard from him. She thought soone like him, devoid of emotion, would never feel such sadness in his lifeti.

"When do you want to leave?" Howard Geoffrey suddenly asked, his tone reverting to his usual cold indifference.
The sadness felt like a vortex pulling her deeper, but hearing his unemotional voice suddenly released her, bringing her back to reality.
Rebecca Quentin looked at Howard Geoffrey calmly and replied, "Right now."
Howard Geoffrey asked again, "Have you thought about where you want to go?"
Rebecca Quentin answered honestly, "Back to Alderton."
Howard Geoffrey suddenly said, "Go back to T City!"
Rebecca Quentin hesitated on the spot.
Howard Geoffrey added, "After all, Alderton is a foreign country; T City is where you grew up."
Rebecca Quentin fell silent.
Didn’t she want to go back to T City?
But she had nothing in T City...
In Alderton, at least her sister’s house was there, and the tranquility of that small town was the living environnt she yearned for.

Howard Geoffrey furrowed his brow, "Why do you insist so much on this matter?"
Rebecca Quentin replied in a polite, mocking tone, "That’s because you can never understand how important dignity is to a person."
Howard Geoffrey did not argue with Rebecca Quentin and said imdiately, "If you don’t want to owe anything, then do it as a debt. You can use my money to go back to T City and arrange the life you want now. When you have money, you can repay ."
His change of words indeed moved her.
In T City, whether finding a job or living, it’s better than in a foreign country. She certainly hoped to return to T City.
After hesitating for a few seconds, Rebecca Quentin finally nodded, "Okay, I’ll return to T City, and I’ll repay the money to you slowly."
