Mrs. Geoffrey quickly cooed, "Be good, Andrew. Your daddy needs his phone. Grandma will get another phone for you to play with soon."
The little fellow didn’t seem to be appeased, reaching out his hands towards Howard Geoffrey. His bright, grape-like eyes were fixated on the phone in Geoffrey’s hand, longing for it.
Mrs. Geoffrey chuckled, "Look, your son wants you to hold him..."
Geoffrey gazed at Andrew for a few seconds and suddenly handed the phone back to Andrew, letting him hold it, before taking Andrew from Mrs. Geoffrey’s arms.
The little guy stayed quietly in his father’s arms, fiddling with the phone that he didn’t quite hold steadily, being very obedient.
Geoffrey nuzzled into the little guy’s neck, which made him burst into laughter.
Geoffrey continued to nuzzle, and the little guy suddenly forgot even about the exciting phone, laughing happily in his father’s arms...
Mrs. Geoffrey watched contentedly, smiling fondly, "Father and son are just that. Even though I’m with him every day, he’s still closest to you."
Geoffrey gently kissed Andrew’s tender little face, his typically calm and cold eyes now softened, glowing with a father’s affection.
Seeing that Andrew was no longer interested in the phone, Mrs. Geoffrey feared Andrew would drop Geoffrey’s phone, so she took the phone from Andrew’s hands, only then noticing the call was still active.
Though the phone displayed a long string of numbers, Mrs. Geoffrey imdiately recognized the owner of the number.
Mrs. Geoffrey paused for a second, showing Geoffrey the phone screen, "Your son accidentally dialed out."
Geoffrey glanced at the phone screen, his expression unchanged.
Mrs. Geoffrey didn’t hang up; she just handed the phone to the servant beside her, then took Andrew back from Geoffrey’s arms.
As expected, Geoffrey didn’t hesitate to hang up the call when he took back the phone.
He grabbed his suit jacket, gave Andrew one last kiss, and left.
Mrs. Geoffrey stood in the room, watching Geoffrey’s departing figure for a long ti, letting out a deep sigh.
The servant asked with concern, "Madam, are you worried that Mr. Geoffrey is too busy with work to notice young master Andrew?"
Mrs. Geoffrey shook her head, "It’s not that he’s busy with work..."
The servant suddenly rembered, "Oh yes, the news ntioned Mr. Geoffrey was recently very close with Miss Robinson..."
"His personal affairs are not my concern..."
"But Madam, you..."
Mrs. Geoffrey looked down at Andrew in her arms, her voice slightly hoarse, "I just feel sorry for my grandson."
The servant sighed, "Yes, it would be wonderful if Miss Quentin and Mr. Geoffrey were both by the young master’s side."
Mrs. Geoffrey said sadly, "That’s almost impossible now..."
"It’s such a pity about Mr. Geoffrey and Miss Quentin... Now that Mr. Geoffrey is with Miss Robinson, I guess he isn’t considering reconciling with Miss Quentin."
Mrs. Geoffrey said nothing more, only sighed again.
In a classy and elegant French restaurant.
Alice Robinson suddenly paused her dining, gazing intently at the handso man, "Hey, why aren’t you eating?"
The man leaned leisurely against the back of the chair, his shirt unbuttoned by two buttons, "I’m not hungry."
"You don’t have work tonight?"
"No."
"What about these days? Will you be busy?"
"No."
Alice’s face showed delight, "My uncle’s sixtieth birthday is the day after tomorrow in France, can you accompany ?"
The man nodded.
Alice excitedly said, "Then we’ll fly to France tomorrow. My uncle will be so happy to see you."
"You arrange it."
After dinner, Alice linked arms with the man and walked out of the restaurant.
As they walked towards the car, Alice noticed the occasional flashes around them.
Evidently, they were being photographed by reporters again.
But they had gotten used to this; feeling the reporters’ presence, Alice even tightened her hold on the man beside her.
On the way back, neither of them spoke. Alice was a bit nervous, her hand twisting the seat’s fabric.
Until the car stopped under Alice’s apartnt building...
Every ti he sent her ho, he never stayed at her apartnt, and she was sensible enough never to complain...
But tonight...
As she sat in the closed car, inhaling his pleasant scent, her cheeks inexplicably burned, a deep craving stirring inside her.
"Shall I walk you up?"
He asked considerately.
Alice shook her head, then suddenly, she mustered courage, reaching out to embrace the man’s neck, "Geoffrey, stay with tonight?"
