"I..."
Manager Smith chuckled, "You little girl, you actually want to keep secrets from ? Tell honestly, did a male friend ask you out last night, and then you both went to a hotel... and then you spent the night in the hotel with him?"
Rebecca Quentin was embarrassed, "Manager, your imagination is really sothing!"
Manager Smith snorted, "You didn’t change your clothes last night, and there’s a hint of a man’s scent on you..."
Rebecca hurriedly sniffed her clothes, "Is there?"
Manager Smith’s smile was bright, "Judging by your reaction, I knew I was right... Haha, Becca, have you already reached that point with him?"
"There’s no ’him’..."
"Alright, alright, I know you’re shy, so let’s not talk about this anymore..."
At the sa ti.
Lisa Cecily walked in with a cup of coffee.
Howard Geoffrey ca out of the office lounge and instructed Lisa, "Arrange my schedule for the coming days, I’m going away for a while."
"Going away?"
Lisa put the coffee on Howard’s desk and asked, "Where are you going, President?"
"Vacation."
"Oh, you work year-round without breaks; it’s indeed ti for you to relax a bit."
Howard nodded slightly, "Bring the important docunts for the next few days!"
"Okay."
Lisa then returned to her office.
Howard habitually picked up the coffee Lisa made and took a sip, then froze.
Soon after, Lisa ca back in with a stack of docunts, seeing Howard looking slightly distracted at the coffee, she smiled and said, "President, is the coffee good?"
Howard placed the coffee on the desk.
Lisa giggled and added, "Miss Quentin taught how to brew this last ti, isn’t it good?"
Howard didn’t look at the coffee again, and said flatly, "Don’t make this flavor anymore, go back to the one you used to make."
"Huh?" Lisa opened her mouth in surprise.
"Bring the docunts!"
Everything seed to return to calm.
"QCS" had beco famous after receiving the "Skytop" order, and the number of signed contracts in the past month kept increasing, making Rebecca Quentin busy as ever...
Days like this passed quickly, and Rebecca felt her life was fulfilling.
One day, Rebecca was discussing a design draft with so colleagues when Nicolette Hols suddenly appeared beside her, very curiously saying, "Becca, there’s a wealthy-looking old lady outside looking for you."
Rebecca paused, "An old lady?"
"Yeah, she looks very elegant, you know?"
Rebecca looked toward the door and, indeed, there she saw old Mrs. Geoffrey!
At a tea restaurant downstairs at "QCS".
Mrs. Geoffrey was intently observing Rebecca Quentin.
Dressed in a professional outfit, with a "QCS" badge hanging on her neck, she looked sharp and spirited.
Mrs. Geoffrey spoke first, "Have you been working here for the past six months?"
"Yes, I’ve been working for four or five months."
"Is it hard work?"
"It’s alright, it’s just that I’m new to this field and still have a lot to learn."
Mrs. Geoffrey nodded lightly.
Toward Mrs. Geoffrey, Rebecca Quentin remained respectful as always, "Did you co to see for sothing, old Mrs. Geoffrey?"
Mrs. Geoffrey smiled lightly, "No need to be so formal, you don’t have to call ... uh, just call Aunt."
"Okay, Aunt."
"I know when you see , you probably want to ask about Andrew’s well-being. Rest assured, he’s doing well, and he can call ’Daddy’ now."
Rebecca’s eyes lit up instantly, "Really?"
"Yes, he’s very naughty, but he’s also very afraid of Howard... Yet this little clever boy, whenever he sees Howard, he clings to him, making it impossible for Howard to be mad at him."
Imagining Howard being helpless with Andrew, Rebecca couldn’t help but smile.
Mrs. Geoffrey looked deeply at Rebecca’s smiling face, then suddenly sighed, "It would be great if you were by his side."
The topic Mrs. Geoffrey started imdiately created a slightly awkward atmosphere.
The smile on Rebecca’s face turned sowhat unnatural.
Mrs. Geoffrey, having ntally prepared herself, seriously stated, "Becca, I actually ca today to explain to you about the matter that’s been bothering you the most - the cause of your father’s death."
The last ti she talked to Howard, it was obvious that there was more to the story, and now hearing Mrs. Geoffrey bring it up again, she knew she was about to know the whole truth.
"This matter has to start with your father framing Stephen Geoffrey and your mother, Vivian Lindsey!"
Rebecca chose to silently listen.
"Your father, back then, out of love that turned to hatred, bribed soone to tamper with Stephen Geoffrey’s car... At the ti of the accident, your father was not far away; he originally thought he could ignore Vivian Lindsey’s death, but at the last second, he had a change of heart and went to save your mother... At that ti, the car hadn’t exploded yet, both Stephen Geoffrey and your mother were still breathing, if sent to the hospital in ti, they could have been saved, but at that mont, your father only took Vivian Lindsey away..."
