"I rember soone said she would bring a gift when she went to Y City, but I waited with eager anticipation, only to receive nothing. I had to enforce soone’s promise before going to Y City."
"Did I ever say if I didn’t bring you a gift, I’d treat you to a al?"
"Don’t deny it!"
"Uh, I..."
Helplessly, Rebecca Quentin took the money from her wallet out of her bag and counted it, then nodded to Chester Robinson, "Luckily, I brought my card today."
Chester said nothing and started eating the pasta that the waiter brought without any hesitation.
Rebecca Quentin was also famished and began to eat heartily.
Chester’s dining posture clearly showed he was nurtured in a high society family, and Rebecca Quentin, having lived in a wealthy family from a young age, naturally exuded the grace and poise of a debutante. Therefore, when the two dined, it was extraordinarily quiet and harmonious.
After the al, Chester drove Rebecca Quentin back to the company.
Chester kept watching Rebecca Quentin as she walked into "QCS," his gaze deep and complex.
Suddenly, his phone started ringing.
Chester glanced at the number displayed on the screen and pressed the answer button, "What is it?"
The voice on the other end was respectful, "Mr. Robinson, Miss Robinson is here; she’s now at your suburban villa, urgently wanting to see you."
The car drove into the villa.
The servants quickly opened the gate and promptly opened the car door for the passengers.
Chester got out of the car and casually tossed the keys to the servant.
"Where is she?"
"Miss Robinson is inside; she seems very angry and is throwing things around."
Chester frowned slightly and walked towards the villa.
The villa’s living room was already in a ss, with Alice Robinson sitting on the sofa, sulking.
Chester gestured for the servants in the villa to leave, then walked towards Alice.
Out of the corner of her eye, Alice saw Chester, but she turned her back to him.
Chester sat down next to Alice, pulling her into his arms, "Why are you throwing such a big tantrum as soon as you arrive?"
Alice tried hard to break free from Chester, but he held her tighter.
Alice was furious, "Don’t touch ! If you want to touch soone, go touch Rebecca Quentin, your new sweetheart!"
"What nonsense are you talking?" Chester released Alice, displeased.
Alice broke free from Chester’s arms and angrily spat out, "I’m talking nonsense? Isn’t it true that you slept with her?"
Chester lazily leaned back on the sofa, "When will you change your unreasonable ways?"
"I’m unreasonable?" Alice’s face showed even deeper anger, "Chester, there’s already a video of you two being intimate, and you’re still arguing?"
Chester glanced at Alice, "What video?"
"Stop pretending... The past few days, I accidentally found a video you saved in your email when I logged into it. You’re really shaless, recording such filthy footage, keeping in the dark, and making believe you approached Rebecca Quentin for my sake!"
Chester instructed the servants outside the door, "Bring the computer here."
Alice passionately retorted, "Stop pretending. I’ve already deleted the video inside; I don’t want to see that dirty footage for even a second!"
Chester stood up, walked in front of Alice, and his usual gentle face was now cold and stern, "Are you sure what you saw was a video of and Rebecca Quentin?"
Alice was furious, "Do you want to describe your lovemaking positions?"
"Videos can be faked."
Alice scread hysterically, "But the email can’t be faked. Only you and I know the password, and you told that no hacker in this world could get into that email! You never thought I’d open it, so you stored your most precious video there!"
Chester was silent, but his face was as cold as frost.
Alice continued, "Actually, I don’t care who you sleep with, I ca today just to tell you that I’ll soon be marrying Howard Geoffrey, so from now on, don’t ever ntion our past relationship. If you try to use this to blackmail , I will definitely expose your fake identity to Daddy and Uncle!"
"This is the design render for the ’Oversky’ PL project, with black bricks as the main feature of the exterior walls, complented by Italian-imported gray diamond-dot bricks for the edges. The rest is made with tea-coloured citrine glass manufactured by the French company Delaney. This tea-coloured citrine glass is renowned internationally; it can withstand three tis the pressure of ordinary bulletproof glass, and it’s also attractive, easy to clean, and easy to replace..."
Dressed in office attire, Rebecca Quentin stood for the first ti in front of the projector in the "QCS" conference room, describing the design concept and effect for the "Oversky" PL project to her superiors and subordinates.
Not long after, Manager Smith led the applause, and colleagues soon followed suit...
After the eting, Rebecca Quentin sorted through the thick drafts in the conference room.
Beside her, Nicolette Hols chirped, "Becca, I have to admit I’m impressed by you! In just a few months, you’ve beco so knowledgeable in design, handling such a big project like ’Oversky’ with ease, truly displaying the deanor of an excellent designer!"
Rebecca Quentin continued organizing the drafts as she replied, "I don’t have that kind of ability. These are the results of discussions with other designers. I rely spoke about them... I’m still far from being a designer!"
"But everyone has witnessed your hard work..."
Rebecca Quentin smiled slightly, "Everyone is working hard. Once the ’Oversky’ order is successfully completed, I’ll treat everyone to a al."
"I think you shouldn’t bother; these people have always mocked you for securing the ’Oversky’ deal. Now that you’ve perford so well, it shows your efforts are paying off and has nothing to do with them... Let them continue being envious and jealous. Why lower yourself to accommodate them?"
"I’m not accommodating anyone. I just want to improve colleague relationships... Had Manager Smith not taken the lead in applauding just now, I don’t think the others would have followed. This shows I still have significant issues in handling interpersonal relationships."
Nicolette Hols snorted, "Ever since they knew you might have a connection with the big boss, they haven’t shown you any respect. This has nothing to do with your interpersonal skills... But honestly, Becca, Manager Smith’s favoritism towards you is quite obvious. If I weren’t so close to you, even I would doubt it."
