Rebecca Quentin suddenly looked up at Chester Robinson, "Broken heart?"
Chester put on a robe and walked out of the bedroom.
Rebecca, sitting on the sofa, hurriedly stood up and asked, "You weren’t joking with earlier, right? You don’t even have a girlfriend, so how could you be heartbroken?"
Chester walked over to his wine cabinet, poured two glasses of red wine, and handed one to Rebecca. "Have a drink with first before we talk."
Rebecca quickly refused, "You know I don’t drink."
"Just for today."
Rebecca looked at the red wine, hesitating, and asked, "Are you really heartbroken?"
Chester smirked, "Absolutely."
Rebecca frowned, "But you don’t have a girlfriend?"
Chester raised an eyebrow, "When did I ever say I didn’t have a girlfriend?"
"Uh, didn’t you say you were single..." Rebecca mumbled quietly.
Chester chuckled softly, took a sip of his wine, and finally said, "Of course I’m ’single’, because my girlfriend has never been by my side."
Rebecca asked puzzled, "If you’re a couple, why not be together?"
"She fell in love with soone else."
"Are you serious?" Rebecca was skeptical, "You don’t look sad at all."
Chester looked at Rebecca calmly, "I’ve never seen you sad, but isn’t your heart just as wounded?"
Rebecca’s body instantly froze.
Chester picked up the other glass of wine again and asked, "Are you willing to have a drink with now?"
After a few seconds of hesitation, Rebecca accepted it and said, "I’ll just have a sip with you."
"Cheers!"
Rebecca clinked glasses with Chester and then took a tiny sip.
Chester didn’t mind, took a sip himself, and then walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room.
Rebecca hurriedly put her glass aside and ca beside Chester, asking with concern, "Are you okay?"
Chester didn’t answer.
Rebecca asked again, "Have you two been together for many years?"
Chester gazed at the brilliant city nightscape below the glass curtain, and responded lightly, "Hmm."
"Then with her falling for soone else, you must be very disappointed."
Chester shook his head with a smile, still not saying anything.
Rebecca sighed at this mont, "I didn’t expect even Doctor Robinson to have emotional troubles."
"No, emotions have never been my trouble."
"Then you..."
Chester turned his face, deeply gazing at Rebecca, smiling at the corners of his mouth, "I just wanted to convince you to have a drink with ."
Rebecca imdiately felt ashad and annoyed, hitting Chester on the shoulder, "Hey, how dare you trick ..."
Chester didn’t dodge, letting her hit him.
Noticing Chester’s gaze on her, different from usual, Rebecca quickly stopped and stepped back, "I don’t want to talk to you anymore, even doctors are deceivers now, so unkind... I’m leaving."
Watching Rebecca leave, Chester didn’t stop her, only redirected his gaze to the glass curtain, watching her frail figure reflected in it. He spoke softly, "Since you ca back from Y City, your spirits haven’t been great."
Hearing what Chester said, Rebecca stopped in her tracks at the door.
Chester continued to gaze at her, still speaking in a gentle and slow tone, "Drinking a little can help you sleep better tonight."
Back in her own room, Rebecca leaned against the door and let out a heavy sigh.

Walking into the bathroom, Rebecca washed her face with water, then stared blankly at her reflection in the mirror.
Ever since she started working at "QCS", she wore light makeup every day. Now, with her makeup washed away, her face appeared pale and colorless.
Turns out, once a person becos disheartened, they can’t disguise it.
She’s really useless; it’s been over ten days since she returned from Y City, and she still hasn’t gotten back on track...

Rebecca had just finished her shower and lay down on the bed when her phone rang.
She picked up the phone, glanced at the screen, and after a long while, pressed the answer button, "Hello..."
"Rebecca, it’s Auntie, am I bothering you this late?"
"No, I’m not asleep yet."
"How have you been lately?"
Rebecca sat up, leaned against the headboard, and smiled softly, "Pretty good."
"Don’t work too hard and get so rest."
"I know."
"I’ve got so happy news to tell you..."
"Hmm?"
"Andrew recently started saying ’mummy, mummy.’ Not sure if he learned it while in Y City, but he says it very clearly!!"
Rebecca lowered her gaze and chuckled softly, "He’s really smart."
"Rebecca..."
"Hmm?" Rebecca wiped away the sting in her nose.
"When will you co to New York to see Andrew?"
"I... I don’t have much free ti, the company is very busy lately!"
Mrs. Geoffrey sighed, "Sigh, they all say when adults’ relationships break, the kids suffer most. It’s true for Howard, and for Andrew too..."
Rebecca was silent.
Mrs. Geoffrey added, "If you miss the child, co to New York when you have ti. Don’t worry about running into Howard; he rarely cos back now. He’s either working in New York City or in France. Even I have difficulty seeing him."

Before Rebecca could reach her desk, a female colleague from the PR departnt, just like Nicolette Hols, crossed her arms and walked towards her.
