"It’s nothing..." Becca turned around, "I’m going to take a shower too."
After speaking, Becca walked into the bathroom.
After Howard Geoffrey got dressed, he looked up unintentionally and saw a very faint line of writing on the window, so he walked over.
Howard, I love you!
Howard’s body stiffened, recalling how Becca had nervously tried to block the glass curtain just now, and her slightly pale face.
"Becca..." Howard walked to the bathroom door uneasily and knocked, "Are you okay?"
Becca did not answer.
"Then I’m coming in."
"No." Becca turned off the faucet and shouted.
"Becca..." Howard opened the door and was stunned.
Becca looked at him with tears in her eyes, her body trembling slightly.
"Baby, what’s wrong?" Howard was shocked and couldn’t help using such a nickna for her. He walked over and took her hand.
"Nothing."
With her eyes lowered, Becca tried to pull her hand back, but Howard wouldn’t let go.
Why couldn’t she control herself? The story between her and him was gone forever...
He would leave M City soon, and no one knew if they would have another encounter.

He had let their relationship fall into such a situation, making the woman he loved the most endure such sadness...

He wanted to tell her the sa thing out loud, knowing that this was what she needed most right now.
But now was not the right ti, their future might only need a few more days of waiting. Yet, how could he bear to leave her like this at this mont?
Howard scrutinized Becca for a long while; her eyes were still red and swollen. He felt a tightness in his chest, struggling for a mont, he finally said to her, "Becca, I should have known I still care about you."
"Howard!!" Becca stood on tiptoe and hugged him tightly, "Actually, I didn’t co just to thank you tonight, I..."
Choking with sobs, Becca couldn’t continue.
"Don’t say anything, take a shower, and get a good night’s sleep here tonight." He understood what she wanted to say.
Howard reached out and gently stroked her hair.
Becca closed her mouth, allowing him to bend down and kiss her.
"Why are you shaking?"
"I’m afraid." Even though he was holding her, she still felt fear and unease because she knew he might leave the next second.
"Afraid of what?"
"Afraid of being alone... unable to take care of Aunt Clare." That was what she really wanted to say, but she lacked the courage to tell him so plainly.
"Silly, I’ve said, I’ll leave Roye here. If you need anything, just tell him. When I return to T City, I’ll have Roye arrange for soone to take care of you and Aunt Clare..." Howard gently wiped the tears from Becca’s face with his thumb, "Stop crying, give a smile, and then go get so good sleep." If she kept crying, he might really not be able to leave tonight.
"Mm."
Becca smiled, but it was a smile uglier than crying.
Howard would eventually leave.
Outside the door, Howard embraced Becca while Roye stood a short distance away at the elevator, helping him press the button and holding his briefcase.
Becca looked at Howard with wide eyes.
Howard placed a kiss on Becca’s smooth, fair forehead and softly said, "Take good care of yourself."
Becca’s throat was so bitter that she couldn’t speak, she could only nod.
Howard then lowered his head and kissed Becca’s lips again before turning to leave.
Becca watched the tall figure of Howard walk into the elevator, trying to keep from crying or sobbing at such a mont.
The elevator sounded with a "ding," and Howard’s figure faded from her view. At that mont, tears blurred her vision.
In the quiet car, Roye kept secretly watching his boss’s expression through the rearview mirror.
Even in the dim light inside the car, Roye could still see the heaviness between Howard’s brows.
Perhaps only Miss Quentin could evoke emotions in the boss’s usually expressionless face.
"Boss, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of Miss Quentin, and she’s strong. She’ll get through this."
"Don’t let her worry about Aunt Clare’s matters."
"I understand."
Howard closed his eyes tiredly against the seat back. At this mont, all he could think about was her every expression and smile.
Lying on her side in bed, Becca clung tightly to the blanket.
