Upon reaching the door of the room, Howard paused for a mont before turning the doorknob.
Rebecca Quentin had just returned not long ago and was drawing the curtains when she heard the sudden sound of the doorknob turning. She was startled but didn’t turn around.
His strong arms encircled her from behind, and his presence enveloped her.
Rebecca Quentin let him hold her, her chest filled with a bitter sense of grievance.
Howard kissed Rebecca Quentin on her cheek, his deep, magnetic voice full of self-reproach and apology, "I’m sorry, baby... I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that so loudly earlier."
Rebecca Quentin lowered her eyelids, her eyes misty.

Rebecca Quentin slowly lifted her eyelids, her clear eyes glistening with tears as she gazed at him.

Because of his comforting words, Rebecca Quentin’s tears fell even more fiercely, yet she didn’t let him wipe her tears away anymore. She used her elbow like a child to wipe the tears at the corners of her eyes, letting out a soft laugh, "Heh... I never used to cry so easily."
Before the age of twenty, in her mory, being cherished by her father, she rarely faced any grievances, which made her soone who could easily shed tears when feeling wronged throughout her life.
Howard was full of heartache, "I made you cry again..."
