"It turns out you’re alive and well."
"I an if..."
After so many years, Christine Quinn raised her eyes for the first ti, eting Skyler Jones’s dark eyes, and asked seriously, "Would you just watch die?"
He chose to be cruel to her.
"That’s right."
Christine Quinn took a deep breath to suppress the pain in her heart, nodding to herself, but his answer stung her eyes.
She lowered her head, not wanting him to see her vulnerable side, and asked again, "What about now? If my heart has problems now, would you still choose to just watch die, right?"
Skyler Jones chose cruelty once again.
He squinted, scrutinizing her pale face, and curled his lips into a smile, "All these years, every ti I worked for M, I had the thought to tear you to shreds... So, what do you think I would choose?"
Christine Quinn bit her pale lips tightly, turned her head to the side as if enduring, and after several seconds, she nodded again, "Thank you for telling your answer."
Skyler Jones suddenly grasped Christine Quinn’s thin shoulders, turning her to face him, gritting his teeth as he spat out, "You better stop asking these silly questions in the future, because I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold back... You should know, I never lay a hand on won."
"I won’t ask... I won’t ask you again in the future." Never again...
Skyler Jones nodded and rcilessly pushed Christine Quinn away, walking out of the room.
Christine Quinn collapsed onto the edge of the bed, mist quickly covering her eyes, but she didn’t allow the tears to fall from her eyes...
In the end, she laughed bitterly.
"Mommy!!"
Marie, playing in the garden with her little brother, saw her mother coming over and imdiately ran over happily.
Christine Quinn reached out to embrace her daughter, gently scolding, "Look at you, so big now, yet still playing like a child, all sweaty." As she spoke, she tenderly wiped the sweat from her daughter’s forehead.
"Mommy, I’m not even twelve yet, to be exact, I’m still a child."
Christine Quinn chuckled lightly, "I don’t know who you take after, so sharp-tongued."
Marilyn Quinn pulled her mother to sit on the garden’s wicker chair, leaned on her mommy’s shoulder, and said contentedly, "Mommy, I feel so happy now, with you and daddy taking care of , I’m the happiest kid in the world."
"Marie, do you rember what mommy tells you the most?"
Marilyn Quinn nodded, "I rember. Mommy, you told that I need to learn to be strong, that I must never be defeated by difficulties."
"Hmm, good girl, even if mommy is not by your side, you must continue to inspire yourself like this."
Marilyn Quinn tilted her head and asked, "Why wouldn’t mommy be by my side?"
Christine Quinn replied with a smile, "People always face birth, aging, sickness, and death; mommy will leave you one day..."
Marilyn Quinn reached out and wrapped her arms around Christine Quinn, "I want to stay with mommy and daddy as you both grow old slowly."
"Hmm."
PS: Next is attending a banquet, exciting.
Christine Quinn’s beauty is well acknowledged, so when she applied a touch of makeup and donned a noble and elegant dress, she imdiately drew a wave of admiration from those around her. Even Howard Geoffrey, upon seeing her, couldn’t help but nod approvingly.
Christine Quinn, however, was sowhat uncomfortable, especially with the dress’s low-cut design, which she found hard to handle.
After all, she wasn’t soone with a well-endowed chest...
Reluctantly, she had to resist the urge to pull up her low-cut dress and continuously took deep breaths, stood up straight to prevent the pearl-colored satin dress from revealing too much due to lack of "support."
Skyler Jones returned at so unknown ti...
Upon entering, he already saw Christine Quinn waiting in the villa’s hall.
Christine Quinn, awkwardly adjusting her dress, suddenly saw Skyler Jones and, thinking how this dress highlighted her not-so-curvy figure, couldn’t help but blush in front of him.
Skyler Jones rely glanced at Christine Quinn indifferently, evidently not noticing her curvaceous figure or being captivated by her enchanting beauty, his tone as usual, "Have you changed clothes?"
Christine Quinn initially intended to ntion the low-cut issue of the dress to Skyler Jones but seeing the slightly impatient look on his face, she had to nod in the end.
Skyler Jones nodded back, turned around, and walked away, "Then let’s go!"
There was not a hint of comntary on her outfit tonight, nor any different emotions than usual, as he regarded her just like soone he wasn’t interested in, always so cold and indifferent.
