Skyler Jones just smiled without saying much.
At this mont, Christine Quinn’s phone rang.
"Sorry, I have to take this call."
Feeling a bit embarrassed for interrupting the dining atmosphere, Christine took her phone and went to the villa’s hallway.
On the phone was Jonathon Gibson’s slightly anxious voice, "Christine, why aren’t you here yet?"
Christine stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window in the hallway, her dim eyes gazing at the view of the garden outside as her pale lips parted slightly, "Skyler Jones is back."
"What? Didn’t you say he’d be back in a few days?"
"Apparently, I couldn’t estimate his schedule accurately."
"That’s alright... I’ll co over to pick you up now."
"No need, Jonathon..."
Jonathon paused for a mont on the other end, then said, "Did seeing him change your mind?"
Christine quickly explained, "No, I will go to the airport at the agreed ti, et there at nine o’clock."
"Why don’t you let pick you up? Are you afraid he’ll see us together?"
"I just don’t want to complicate things."
"I believe if I pick you up, leaving with will go more smoothly, and there won’t be any complications at all... the only reason you’re hesitating is that you haven’t let go of Skyler Jones."
"I haven’t."
"If not, then let pick you up... I won’t feel at ease if you go to the airport alone."
After calmly thinking for a few seconds, Christine finally nodded, "Alright, pick up at eight o’clock."
"Okay."
"By the way, did you finalize the divorce?"
Jonathon answered, "I’ve already had the lawyer draw up the divorce agreent. Later I’ll bring it to you, you just need to sign it and leave it for him to sign."
Christine nodded, "Alright, thank you."
"Don’t forget to take your dication when you’re packing, but leave the luggage behind."
"I know."
"I’ll pick you up at eight..."
"Okay."
Ending the call, Christine took a deep breath and returned to the dining room.
As soon as Christine sat down at the dining table, Marie curiously asked, "Mommy, was it Uncle Gibson who called you?"
Christine glanced at Marie, her gaze inadvertently sweeping over Skyler Jones’s unchanged face, and lightly nodded.
"Mommy, Uncle Gibson is so nice. Last ti he visited our ho, he bought a lot of gifts."
Skyler Jones raised an eyebrow and said in an unhappy tone, "Since when did we allow outsiders to co and go in our ho as they please?"
"Ah?" Marie was stunned.
"He just ca to see , and he left after having so tea," Christine explained.
"In the future, without my permission, it’s best not to casually bring unrelated outsiders into the house!" Skyler Jones said coldly and left the room.
Marie finally snapped out of it and asked, "Mommy, what’s wrong with Daddy? Why is he angry?"
Christine shook her head, "Who knows!"
After finishing dinner, it was already past six in the evening.
There were less than two hours left before she would leave Skyler Jones and Marie...
She didn’t expect him to co back today, she thought she wouldn’t see him again...
The letter she wrote for Marie was ready, but she had no intention of leaving anything for him... She knew clearly that he wouldn’t want her to leave anything behind.
Becca said Jennifer Douglas’s father helped him with the TSOL project, so he and Jennifer Douglas must have developed quite well and already gained the approval of his future father-in-law...
Although she didn’t have a good impression of Jennifer Douglas, it was evident from Jennifer’s agreent not to cause her any more trouble that she was soone who kept her promises, and soone who keeps promises likely wouldn’t have bad character.
If Jennifer Douglas truly is his destined one, she sincerely hoped they would have a happy future together.
Christine put the photo into her pocket and walked to the room.
Christine reached out to knock on the door, only to inadvertently discover that the lock was broken.
Inside the room, Skyler Jones’s cold and indifferent voice ca through, "Co in."
Christine walked in and saw Skyler Jones standing conflicted in front of the wardrobe.
Christine asked, "Having trouble with sothing?"
Skyler Jones, with his hands on his waist, said in frustration, "There’s an important business event in Y City tomorrow night, and I don’t know what to wear."
Christine walked to his side, glanced at the large wardrobe, and promptly picked out a complete set including a suit, shirt, and tie...
