In the hospital room, Skyler Jones stood quietly by the bedside.
The high-end and spacious hospital room hosted a bouquet of her favorite white lilies, filling the room with a faint lily fragrance.
Yet, he could still sll her scent...
It was the unique scent that belonged to her, a scent he had never forgotten over the years.
The indentation on the pillow seed to suggest that she had been lying here an hour or perhaps just minutes ago, the quilt still looked as if it had just been lifted...
How coincidental, he arrived just as she left...
Why did she leave in such a hurry? Did she have a premonition of his arrival?
Suddenly, a red phone barely visible from under the pillow caught his attention.
He reached out and picked up the phone from under the pillow, recognizing at a glance that it was hers.
He turned on her phone only to find it was turned off due to a dead battery.
He frowned slightly, put the phone away, and then inadvertently noticed the chair by the window.
In his mind, she seed to be sitting on the chair looking out the window, causing him to lose focus.
It was unclear how much ti had passed when he heard hurried footsteps behind him.
He turned around to see Jonathon Gibson rushing in...
Before he could react, his abdon was t with a fierce punch...
Jonathon was clearly still furious; seeing him bend over, he imdiately punched him again in the face.
Instantly, blood flowed from his nose, and the corner of his mouth was also bruised...
Yet Jonathon’s fury had not subsided, he swung his fist again, but at that mont, Skyler Jones countered with a fierce punch...
This punch from Skyler was not light either, leaving a mark on Jonathon’s face...
When Jonathon was about to rush in again, Skyler’s returning n blocked Jonathon’s assault.
The pain seared like a fiery burn, as Skyler wiped the blood from his nose and glared angrily at Jonathon.
"Skyler Jones, you bastard... If you had ever truly cherished Christine, her health wouldn’t be so poor... She’s about to die, do you know that?"
The word "die" made Skyler Jones’s sharp gaze turn instantly into one of shock.
The next second, Skyler grabbed Jonathon’s shirt collar, his breath of rage fanned across Jonathon’s face, "What are you saying? Tell clearly!!"
"I promised Christine, I wouldn’t tell you!" Jonathon stubbornly replied.
"Fine, it seems you need a bit of motivation." Saying this, he punched and caused Jonathon’s nose to bleed, "Will you talk or not? If you feel the motivation is still lacking, I’m happy to continue." Skyler growled these words with gritted teeth.
"Skyler Jones, you heartless, shaless scoundrel, Christine was unlucky to know you for eight lifetis... Now you want to know what’s wrong with her? I won’t tell you, I also want you to know how it feels to be tornted by soone else..."
Before Jonathon could finish speaking, Skyler swung another punch, and blood flowed from Jonathon’s mouth.
"Will you talk or not?" Skyler said, raising his fist again.
"Please, don’t do this..." A few doctors and nurses rushed in from outside, hurriedly pulling Jonathon away.
Seeing the doctor, Skyler suddenly grabbed one by the collar, "What happened to Christine Quinn exactly?"
The doctor faced Skyler’s fierce gaze, feeling instinctively terrified yet found him sowhat familiar, suddenly realizing, "You’re... Skyler..."
Skyler had lost his patience, his eyes burning as he stared at the doctor, gritting his teeth, saying word by word, "I asked you, what happened to Christine Quinn exactly?"
The doctor finally responded to Skyler’s question, "You... you’re Miss Quinn’s..."
"Damn it, I’m her husband!!"
The doctor’s mouth ford a circle as he finally realized that Christine Quinn was indeed the president’s wife of the "Oversky" Group.
"Speak!!!"
Terrified by Skyler’s enraged appearance, the doctor blurts out all of Christine Quinn’s situation, "Miss Quinn is suffering from heart failure due to bodily rejection..."
Skyler finally slowly let go of the doctor, staring incredulously at the doctor’s frightened face, "What did you say? Heart failure?"
The doctor tried to maintain composure, "Yes, yes... heart failure, she doesn’t have much ti left."
Grabbing the doctor again, Skyler gritted his teeth, "Damn it, what do you an, doesn’t have much ti left?"
