Another week has passed.
In a small company in the Flowery Kingdom, a female employee exclaid, "Wow, wow... The president of the ’Oversky’ Group, Skyler Jones, has bought the British Tis, the New York Tis, the E Weekly Magazine of the Flowery Kingdom, Alpha Weekly in Italy... more than sixty of the best-selling newspapers and magazines in the world for a whole week..."
Another young female employee emotionally said, "Yes, so affectionate... He is asking for his wife’s forgiveness."
"Is he that rich? To have the newspapers report for a whole week?"
"Of course he’s rich, he’s the president of ’Oversky’... Besides, for soone as wealthy as him, he probably has connections with the newspaper owners."
"That’s true..."
"But he is truly sincere; not every man can put down his pride and say ’sorry’ to his wife in the newspaper."
"Mm, mm, if I were his wife, I would imdiately run to his side, throwing caution to the wind..."
"Hope his wife sees it!"
"I think Christine Quinn is so lucky to have such a wealthy and loving husband..."
The gray sky, in the early winter season, was gently falling its first snow of the winter.
Christine Quinn stood silently on the porch of the villa, gazing up at the sky, letting the white snow gently fall on her cheeks and clothes.
Her thin, pale face revealed a rare, exquisite smile during these days.
She carefully stretched out her delicate hand, allowing snowflakes to fall into her palm.
She focused on the scene before her, as if it were the only thing in the world worth caring about.
Having grown up in T City, if not deliberately climbing a mountain, she might never see such beautiful snow in her lifeti.
Therefore, when the caretaker, Ernie, told her that it was snowing outside, she couldn’t wait to drag her frail body out to the villa she had moved into.
She stood, eyes closed in rapture, in an open space filled with swirling snow, enjoying the rare beautiful sight.
"Miss Quinn, co inside, you can admire the snow from inside too!" Ernie said worriedly.
"Ernie, just let stay for a while, just a while." Christine Quinn didn’t even open her eyes, continuing to stand in the sa position.
"Then I’ll get you a coat." With that, Ernie quickly dashed inside.
She knew well that her weak body was not suited for standing long in the snow, but her unstoppable curiosity made her refuse Ernie’s concern.
Perhaps... perhaps this was the first and last ti she would see such a snowy scene, how could she miss it? Christine couldn’t help but think sadly.
"Are you admiring the snow dressed like that in the snow?" A sudden deep male voice made Christine Quinn open her closed eyes.
She slowly turned her head and saw the person she had expected.
"Howard Geoffrey."
"Long ti no see, Christine."
"I knew it was you... No one else could get so many top cardiothoracic specialists to treat ."
"Co inside, let’s talk inside."
"Mm."
Inside the villa, Ernie served Christine Quinn and Howard Geoffrey each a steaming cup of coffee.
Howard Geoffrey looked at Christine Quinn’s pale face, devoid of color, and sighed lightly, "You should have let everyone know about this earlier."
Christine Quinn smiled and shook her head, "There is no cure, so why make everyone worry about ?"
"But at this ti, you can’t possibly handle this alone."
"I can handle it, haven’t you forgotten? I’ve never been defeated by anything." At this mont, Christine Quinn still forced a smile, pretending to be relaxed as she answered.
"You are too strong-willed."
Christine Quinn still smiled and asked, "By the way, how has Becca been these days?"
"This is when you should be more concerned about yourself."
"Am I not sitting safely in front of you right now?"
"Becca’s not doing well... She hasn’t found you, she’s very worried, hasn’t had much of an appetite these days, and has gotten thinner."
"That can’t do... She is pregnant now, if she doesn’t eat well or sleep well, it will affect the baby in her belly."
"You don’t need to worry too much... She’s not starving the baby, just very worried about you."
Christine Quinn lowered her head apologetically, "Take good care of her now."
"Of course I will, I am her husband."
Christine Quinn nodded, smiling at Howard Geoffrey, "Actually, I really envy your love. Even at your lowest points, you never gave up on each other, always loving each other deeply."
