A mont later, Christine Quinn ca out of the bathroom with a damp towel. She sat on the edge of the bed and placed it on Skyler Jones’ forehead. "This should help reduce the fever..."
The housekeeper said, "Right, I almost forgot..."
Christine Quinn said to the housekeeper, "Since he refuses to take dicine or injections, stay here and help him change the towel, every ten minutes..."
The housekeeper looked conflicted, "Well... Madam... It’s not appropriate for , right? How about you stay here to take care of Mr. Jones, since you don’t have anything planned today..."

"Please, I’m counting on you." The housekeeper gave a deep bow.

Christine Quinn reached out again to touch Skyler Jones’ forehead and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
His fever had finally gone down...
The housekeeper ca in at so point, and spoke softly to Christine Quinn, "Madam, would you like to have dinner at ho tonight? We’ve already prepared your al."
"No need, housekeeper, I have plans with friends tonight..."
Knowing the current relationship between Skyler Jones and Christine Quinn, the housekeeper couldn’t insist, so he nodded in agreent, saying "Alright."
Christine Quinn stood up and said to the housekeeper, "His fever is gone... when he wakes up, make sure he eats sothing!"
The housekeeper looked at Skyler Jones lying on the bed and suddenly said, "Mr. Jones is already awake."

Skyler Jones slowly opened his eyes, glancing blankly around before finally noticing Christine Quinn standing beside the bed.
Christine Quinn was taken aback, intending to call the housekeeper to ease the awkwardness, only to find the housekeeper had quietly left at so point.
Skyler Jones supported himself on his elbow and slowly sat up against the headboard. "When did you get here?"
His very soft voice revealed his physical weakness.
"I ca in the morning to see Marie and found out you were sick."
"What ti is it now?"
"It’s already past six in the evening..."
"I slept the entire day?"
Christine Quinn nodded.
Skyler Jones noticed the towel placed nearby, and his pale lips parted slightly, "Did you help change the towel for ?"
"Yes."
"All afternoon?"
"Not just ; the housekeeper and others helped too."
"Anyway, thank you."
Christine Quinn lowered her eyelashes, "The important thing is that your fever is down. Marie was really worried about you."
"Where is she?"
"In her room doing her howork. She asked to let her know as soon as you woke up."
"Ha..." Skyler Jones chuckled weakly, leaning against the headboard.
Christine Quinn advised, "You should try taking the dicine the doctor prescribed... For soone like you who’s never been sick before, the reaction can be more severe."
"Alright." He responded softly.
"I have to go now." Christine Quinn picked up her bag, ready to leave.
However, just as Christine Quinn was turning away, Skyler Jones suddenly spoke, "Wait a mont."
Christine Quinn paused her steps.
Skyler Jones pulled off the covers and got out of bed.
Christine Quinn turned around, not expecting him to be right behind her, and at that instant, she collided with his chest.
Realizing he was still sick and physically weak, Christine Quinn repeatedly apologized, "Sorry."
Skyler Jones was still wearing last night’s clothes, his shirt wrinkled from the rain, looking sowhat disheveled...
Skyler Jones got close to Christine Quinn, making her almost think he was about to do sothing, but as Christine Quinn prepared to stop him, she found Skyler Jones gently tucking a strand of stray hair behind her shoulder.
Christine Quinn was dazed for a second.
Perhaps because he’s ill, she couldn’t bring herself to say any distancing words.
Thankfully, he had no other intentions...
His eyes, looking tired from illness, gazed at her. "Did the doctor say your condition is related to your mood?"
Christine Quinn nodded.
"Staying away from makes you feel better?" he asked again.
Even while ill, his gaze was so deep it made her feel uncertain.
She turned her head away, avoiding his gaze, and honestly replied, "I just want a normal life."
"Fine... I’ll keep the promise I made to you yesterday."
His promise sent a tremor through her heart, but it was indeed what she wanted.
"Thank you."
She turned back to face him, her eyes free from affectation or hesitation.
"From now on, I won’t interfere with your freedom, but I’d like to maintain a friendship with you, is that okay?"
Last night’s events had resolved her to not remain friends with him, but inexplicably, at this mont, she couldn’t bring herself to say those harsh words.
Christine Quinn finally nodded, "Alright. We are Marie’s parents; it’s not proper to be strangers or enemies."
