Christine Quinn responded indifferently, "Being prettier than you is enough."
Jennifer nodded in agreent, "That’s true, n do like pretty won. I suppose that’s why Oversky only noticed you among so many people."
"Back to the main topic... you haven’t told why you’re looking for him."
Jennifer finally answered directly, "It’s easy to guess... I saw in the news that he’s planning to sell ’Oversky,’ which worried . Recalling how he’d previously given most of the profits from the TSOL project to Nonta to distance himself from , causing cash flow issues for the company, I feared that might be why he’s selling ’Oversky.’ So I asked my daddy to co to Y City with funds to find him... My daddy wants to use the money to force Oversky to marry , but I no longer have those desires. I simply wanted to help him. Yet when I saw you by his side, I suddenly changed my mind and didn’t want to help him anymore because seeing you with him makes unhappy."

Christine breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "So, when you said you’re pregnant, was that a lie?"
"If I said it was true, would you believe ?"
"I don’t know."
"You probably can’t be sure whether Oversky and I ever had a relationship, can you?"
"I have no doubt about that... he clearly explained to that he’s never had a relationship with you while sober."

Christine chose silence for a mont.

Admittedly, hearing Jennifer’s words brought joy to Christine’s heart, even though she felt Jennifer might be hiding sothing.

Jennifer stood up from the chair and put on her sunglasses.

Watching Jennifer’s departing figure, Christine breathed a sigh of relief, suddenly feeling much lighter.
Christine had only been out for a little over an hour before she returned.
When she got ho, Skyler Jones was in the study, on a phone call.
Christine didn’t intentionally eavesdrop, but as she pushed open the study door, she accidentally heard him ntion the word "ring."
Seeing her enter, he ended the call and smiled at her, "You’re back?"
"Yeah."
"What did you go out and buy?"
Christine walked over to him and said gently, "I told you earlier, I went to buy so personal items."
Skyler reached out his long arm, pulling Christine onto his lap. With their faces close, he murmured softly, "You’ve only been gone a little over an hour, but it felt like a century to ."
In that mont, Christine turned her face, gazed at Skyler for a second, and then took the initiative to give his cheek a quick kiss.
Skyler was quite surprised, "This..."
