"Aunt, I want to see, I want to see the little sister too..." Andrew jumped up and down at Christine Quinn’s heel.
"Okay, grandma will lift you up to see..." Mrs. Geoffrey lovingly picked up Andrew.
Andrew’s innocent eyes widened, seemingly confused, and after a while, he said, "Mommy, the little sister is all wrinkled, not pretty at all."
Andrew’s words made everyone present laugh.
Howard Geoffrey teased as he looked at Rebecca Quentin, "Honey, it seems mom just said our daughter takes after you..."
Rebecca Quentin snorted, and Howard Geoffrey quickly kissed her to appease his wife.
The loving couple of Howard Geoffrey and Rebecca Quentin once again drew envious tsks from so of the nurses in the hospital room.
Christine Quinn cradled the little princess and smiled as she explained to her little nephew, "Andrew, newborns are always like this, you weren’t as pretty as your little sister when you were born!"
Andrew blinked his pure black-and-white eyes, "Really?"
"Of course, you were all wrinkly and looked like a little old man back then, but your mommy and auntie didn’t dislike you!"
Andrew pouted and said, "I don’t dislike the little sister... I promised mommy to be a big brother and protect my little sister in the future."
"Andrew is so good." Christine Quinn praised.
At this mont, Mrs. Geoffrey turned to Skyler Jones, whose handso face was gentle but had not yet spoken or joined the delightful family atmosphere, "Oversky, since you’re here, why not stay in New York for a few more days..."
"You can ask Christine what she thinks."
"Alright, alright, I’ll go talk to Christine." Mrs. Geoffrey said excitedly. It’s tough to convince Skyler Jones, but she’s quite confident she can sway Christine Quinn.
"Christine..." Mrs. Geoffrey approached Christine Quinn.
"Hmm?"
"You and Oversky should stay in New York for a few more days..."
"Sure, I want to spend ti with Becca too."
From afar, as Christine Quinn bead with a radiant smile, looking as if everything was perfectly fine, a trace of sadness crossed Rebecca Quentin’s clear eyes, the smile slowly faded, and bitterness and discomfort welled up in Rebecca Quentin’s chest.
Howard Geoffrey, with his exceptionally keen perception, noticed this subtle change on Rebecca Quentin’s face and asked softly, "What’s wrong?"
Rebecca Quentin shook her head and nestled into Howard Geoffrey’s embrace, whispering, "I’m just a little tired."
Howard Geoffrey leaned down to kiss Rebecca Quentin, "Then sleep... I’ll stay at the hospital with you tonight."
"Hmm."
Nightti, Jones’ Mansion.
Christine Quinn ca out of the bathroom after her shower and saw Skyler Jones by the window, talking on the phone.
Christine Quinn put down the towel she was using to dry her hair and quietly walked over, suddenly embracing him from behind.
Skyler Jones was discussing business matters with his secretary from Y City, but upon being embraced by his wife, he ended the call imdiately, turned around, and hugged her, "Done with your shower?"
"Hmm."
He leaned close to her neck, his voice magnetic, "You sll wonderful."
Christine Quinn pushed Skyler Jones away, muttering, "Stop being naughty... let’s discuss business."
"Business?"
Christine Quinn linked arms with Skyler Jones and led him to the bed, "Why are you like this?"
Seated on the bed’s edge, Skyler Jones couldn’t resist encircling Christine Quinn’s slender waist possessively, gazing deeply at her, "Hmm?"
Christine Quinn quickly turned her face away, "Hey, don’t look at like that..."
Whenever there’s a hint of intensity in his eyes, she can’t handle it.
He smiled at her shy deanor, hugged her tighter, "Alright, say it."
Christine Quinn pinched his handso cheek, seriously saying, "Look at you, whenever you see mom and Howard, your face goes expressionless... why aren’t you willing to get closer to them? They are your family."
"Being close to you is good enough for ..."
"Why are you like this? You know mom and Howard really want you to put aside past misunderstandings and get along with them."
Skyler Jones released Christine Quinn and lay back on the bed.
Christine Quinn joined him, slipping the tie around his neck, "Hey, no avoiding, you need to learn to get along with your family."
Skyler Jones pecked his sweet wife, "I’m trying."
"Trying isn’t enough, you need to love!! ’Love’ do you understand? It’s about loving them the way you love ."
"If you want to do that, I’m afraid I can’t..."
"Why?"
In this mont, Skyler Jones gazed intently at Christine Quinn, speaking deeply with affection, "Because I’ll never be able to love them more than I love you..."
"You rascal, always saying things that make want to cry..." Though Christine Quinn playfully swung her fist to scold Skyler Jones, tears of emotion shimred in her eyes.
"Christine, shall we get married in Italy?"
ntioning this topic again, Christine Quinn montarily felt at a loss for how to respond.
Skyler Jones assud Christine Quinn’s hesitation was due to him not yet providing her with enough security, so he asked, "Do you still have concerns?"
Christine Quinn shook her head, eventually smiling at him, "Alright, you go and arrange it."
Skyler Jones contentedly gave her a kiss.
Christine Quinn smiled sweetly, but no one knew how her heart was aching at that mont.
"You should go shower, I’ll go see your mom, she said earlier she wanted to discuss sothing with ."
"Hmm, co back soon, I want to hold you to sleep..."
"I know, hurry and go."
Skyler Jones snuck in another kiss to Christine Quinn before leisurely walking to the bathroom, loosening his tie.
Christine Quinn donned a silk robe and ca to Mrs. Geoffrey’s room door.
She reached out and lightly knocked, "Aunt..."
Mrs. Geoffrey seed to have been awaiting Christine Quinn, smiling as she opened the door, "Christine."
"Aunt, did you want to speak with ?"
"Co in, we’ll talk inside."
"Okay."
Christine Quinn followed Mrs. Geoffrey into the room.
The mother-in-law and daughter-in-law sat on the living room sofa, and Mrs. Geoffrey smiled affectionately at Christine Quinn, "No need to be formal, call ’mom’ like before!"
Christine Quinn smiled gently, "Okay, mom."
Mrs. Geoffrey held Christine Quinn’s hand and sighed softly, "I feel the heavens are kind to , not only giving two outstanding sons but also two excellent daughters-in-law... In the past, I wasn’t kind towards you, but luckily, you were broad-minded and didn’t hold grudges against ."
"Mom, haven’t I ntioned that you shouldn’t speak like this anymore? Everyone had misunderstandings back then, so it was naturally hard to be harmonious like now."
