Before ending the call, she gave him a kiss goodnight through the phone.
He smiled as he put down the phone, the shadow on his face vanished, as if all problems had been resolved.
Suddenly, Skyler Jones picked up the phone again and dialed another string of numbers.
His voice turned serious as usual, "How’s the investigation going?"
