Christine Quinn sat quietly in the hotel apartnt, waiting for Skyler Jones to arrive.
At ten o’clock, her phone suddenly rang.
Thinking it was Skyler, she imdiately answered, only to hear Jonathon Gibson’s voice on the other end.
"Christine."
Christine Quinn’s face showed a hint of disappointnt, but she still responded politely, "Jonathon."
"I went to Geoffrey’s, and they said you’re not in New York."
"Yeah, I’m in France."
"Did you leave suddenly because you had a dispute with Skyler?"
Christine leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window, answering lightly, "I had no dispute with him." It was a silent indifference.

"No need, Jonathon." Christine quickly interjected, "We’re just having a little tiff, nothing serious... Go to South Africa with peace of mind. I promise you, I’ll be fine."

Christine nodded slightly, "I will."

After finishing the call with Jonathon Gibson, a wave of sadness welled up in Christine Quinn’s heart.
Watching TV yesterday, she learned that Jonathon had requested the U.S. governnt to allow him to work in South Africa...

Skyler stepped in from outside, his tall and broad figure appearing even more striking than usual.
Christine closed the door, calmly following behind him.
Suddenly, he turned around, his deep, unreadable eyes staring straight at her.
Christine still didn’t look into Skyler’s eyes and just said, "Do you want anything to drink? I’ll get it for you."
Skyler replied lightly, "No need."
