"We worked well together today. I think you have a talent for clerical work. Would you be willing to let hire you permanently?"
"Um, Mr. Jones, you’re giving too much credit. I don’t have that kind of ability. I can pour tea, fetch water, and organize files, but I really don’t know anything about business. People even used to call stupid..."
"The person who said that was your ex-husband, right?"
Rebecca Quentin suddenly felt a bit embarrassed. She gave an awkward laugh and changed the topic, "How long will you be staying here, Mr. Jones?"
After just one day of working with Skyler Jones, Rebecca Quentin was already sure that he was a kind, considerate, and extrely ticulous man.
"One more week!"
"If you really don’t mind, Mr. Jones, I can continue to fill in for you while you’re in T City this week."
Skyler Jones said in English, "My honor."
Rebecca Quentin playfully responded, "Mine too."
「Half an hour later.」
Upon returning ho, Rebecca Quentin called out while changing her shoes, "Aunt Clare."
Aunt Clare replied and soon brought over a bowl of soup, approaching Rebecca Quentin with a smile. "Did you have a tiring day?"
Rebecca Quentin took the soup from Aunt Clare and, after taking a sip, answered, "It was pretty relaxing, and the commission they offered was really high."
Aunt Clare suddenly asked, "You didn’t have a gig with the modeling agency today, did you?"
Rebecca Quentin nodded, then suddenly looked up and asked, "How did you know?"
Aunt Clare answered, her mind clearly racing, "I was waiting by the window for you to co back and saw a very gentlemanly man drop you off. Judging by his attire, he must be wealthy. He even got out of the car to open the door for you."
Rebecca Quentin replied truthfully, "Yes, he’s the CEO of "Oversky." He’s also involved in that governnt project that was recently announced..."
Aunt Clare’s eyes instantly lit up. "How old is he?"
Rebecca Quentin thought for a mont. "I think he’s thirty-seven!" She had only chanced upon his brief profile earlier that day while going through so docunts, which was why it stuck in her mind.
Aunt Clare grew increasingly interested. "That’s a good age! Not impulsive like younger n—he’s mature and considerate, and his career is going so well."
Hearing Aunt Clare’s stream of praises, Rebecca Quentin, who was drinking her soup, slowly looked up at her and said with so uncertainty, "Are you trying to say..."
Aunt Clare took Rebecca Quentin’s arm as they walked into the living room. With a laugh, she said, "You’re not getting any younger, dear. It’s ti you found soone who will cherish you. I think that man from earlier was quite nice. Though he’s a bit older, he seems like a good match for you in many ways. Do you think he’s interested? Why not see if sothing could develop between you two..."
「The next day.」
Rebecca Quentin turned down a job offered by the modeling agency. She got up early to review the docunts Skyler Jones had given her the previous day, taking note of the key points he wanted her to pay attention to. As expected, at 8:30 AM, Skyler Jones called her on ti.
Rebecca Quentin, holding the docunts, had planned to go downstairs early to wait for Skyler Jones, only to find his car was already parked below her building.
Once in the car, Rebecca Quentin said apologetically, "Sorry to have kept you waiting."
Skyler Jones smiled warmly. "No, I arrived early."
"Alright. I’ve taken good note of the instructions you gave yesterday, so I should be able to complete today’s tasks smoothly."
Skyler Jones started the engine. "Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I’m not a difficult boss."
Rebecca Quentin laughed, feeling quite cheerful.
「In the evening.」
Working with Skyler Jones felt very harmonious, as if they had a natural rapport. Sotis, he would just give her a look, and she would imdiately know what he wanted and cooperate accordingly.
As a result, even after a busy day with Skyler Jones where they didn’t even have ti for lunch, she didn’t feel tired or drained at all. Instead, she felt a strong sense of accomplishnt. It was the first ti she had felt that life could be so fulfilling and satisfying.

Leaning against the seatback, Rebecca Quentin replied, full of energy, "I don’t feel overworked at all. I actually find watching you conduct business to be a kind of enjoynt."
Skyler Jones gave a faint smile. "You’re quite the sweet-talker... To avoid being accused of starving my employee, you must do the honor of letting treat you to dinner tonight."
"Alright, it would be my pleasure." It was still early, and dinner wouldn’t take much ti.
"Let’s go. I’ll take you to a different kind of restaurant."
In the elegant and quiet restaurant, Rebecca Quentin looked at Skyler Jones across the table and whispered, "This seems to be the most expensive restaurant in T City. Isn’t it a bit too extravagant to treat an employee like this?"
