Jason Wood walked in from outside.
"Boss, I’ve already seen Miss Quinn off to the airport."
Howard Geoffrey, who was reviewing a report from headquarters, nodded slightly.
Jason hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "I can tell Miss Quinn really wanted you to accompany her."
Geoffrey raised his eyes, glanced at Jason, and asked, "What are you trying to say?"
Thinking of Christine Quinn’s longing gaze as she departed, Jason mustered his courage and said, "Actually, Miss Quinn hoped you could spare more ti for her, especially now that her health has improved..."
Yes, after giving birth to Marilyn Quinn, the doctor had declared Christine infertile. For years, Christine Quinn actively sought treatnt in the United States, ticulously following her doctor’s advice, even when it ant abstaining from intercourse. Finally, two days ago, her doctor delivered the good news regarding her treatnt results. She had then eagerly flown from the United States to T City, anxious to share this wonderful news with Geoffrey. They subsequently visited T City’s most renowned gynecological hospital for another examination. The doctor there confird the positive prognosis, stating Christine could conceive within six months. Furthermore, if all went well, the child she conceived could potentially save Marilyn Quinn’s life.
Geoffrey lowered his gaze back to the report and said quietly, "I know what I’m doing."
Jason didn’t dare say more. After all, offering such counsel had already made him extrely apprehensive.
Just as Jason was about to take his leave, Geoffrey suddenly asked, "Have you found out about Skyler Jones’s background?"
Jason drew a sharp breath. "Forgive my incompetence. The information I’ve found is largely consistent with what’s publicly available online. However, the suspicious part is that regardless of the channels used, I’ve been unable to find any information about Skyler Jones’s childhood."
Geoffrey said calmly, "Hmm. Continue investigating."
"Yes." Speaking of Skyler Jones, Jason seed to suddenly recall sothing and quickly added, "Boss, it seems Skyler Jones and Miss Quentin are dating."
Upon hearing this, Geoffrey’s body visibly stiffened, though his expression remained impassive. "Really?"
Jason spoke truthfully, "Soone saw Skyler Jones dining with a beautiful woman at the Hansen Hotel last night. He was even seen holding her as they entered the hotel elevator. It’s speculated they spent the night there. Based on the witness’s description, I believe the beautiful woman in question is Miss Quentin."
"Leave!" Geoffrey commanded icily. He clearly didn’t want to hear anything further about Rebecca Quentin right now.
"Yes."
「Downstairs from her apartnt.」
Becca smiled as she waved goodbye to Skyler Jones.
Skyler Jones rolled up the car window, and the car drove away under Becca’s watchful gaze.
Just as Becca turned to leave, a sharp screech of tires sounded from behind her. She instinctively turned and her eyes fell upon Howard Geoffrey alighting from a car.
Becca was slightly taken aback.
"Surprised to see ?" Geoffrey halted, a re three paces from Becca.
Becca quickly averted her gaze, offering a faint smile as if addressing a re business associate of Skyler’s. "Mr. Geoffrey, just passing through?"
Geoffrey’s gaze was glacial. "Did you not hear what I said?"
Becca maintained a polite smile, feigning ignorance. "I’m not sure what you’re referring to, Mr. Geoffrey?"
"Skyler Jones is not soone you should get involved with."
"That seems to be my personal affair, Mr. Geoffrey." She deliberately emphasized his formal address, as if to underscore the lack of any personal connection between them.
Becca, of course, lacked the power to truly infuriate Howard Geoffrey. However, the genuine indifference she displayed now, juxtaposed with the mory of her graceful wave to Skyler monts before, created a jarring contrast in Geoffrey’s mind. And so, in that instant, Geoffrey closed the distance to Becca, his expression turning grim and nacing. "You’ve only known him a few days, and you’re already so eager to jump into bed with him?"

Becca’s face turned ashen. Each of Geoffrey’s words struck her like a lash upon her vulnerable heart. It took every ounce of her strength to suppress the searing pain and keep her expression from crumbling.
She looked at him; his expression was as cold as stone.
"Yes, that’s right..." Becca turned away. "If Mr. Jones and I do beco sothing more, I hope you’ll put in a good word for with him, Mr. Geoffrey."
