The young man walking down the corridor looked very young, around twenty-four or twenty-five years old.
The overly white lighting from the hospital’s ceiling reflected on his white lab coat, seemingly enveloping him in a layer of cold light. It highlighted his handso features, sculpted as if from jade—beautiful yet chilling, like a jade figurine.
When the young nurse saw him approaching, she couldn’t contain her excitent and exclaid, "Dr. Ou, are you on duty tonight?"
"No, I’m with Professor Tang. Dr. Su is on duty tonight," said Ou Yanan.
One of his hands was casually tucked into the pocket of his lab coat, while the other rested on the side door to the operating room. If it weren’t for the nurse suddenly blocking his way, he would have pushed the door open and entered.
However, it seed fortunate that the nurse was standing there, perhaps intentionally to block him, clearly fond of him, subtly hinting to him.
"Right, so—" the nurse said, obviously knowing what he was about to say, and crinkling the corners of her eyes, "Professor Tang indeed works hard, doesn’t he? Every ti Dr. Su can’t handle a patient—is it the dean who calls Professor Tang back?"
Regarding her words, Ou Yanan did not just express agreent, but a cold mockery briefly flashed through his eyes because of his youthfulness, "Professor Tang is incredibly busy. During the day, aside from performing surgeries, he also needs to attend etings and give lectures. His daily schedule is packed. Professor Tang doesn’t really want to co back, but he can’t decline the dean’s enthusiasm."
The nurse understood his aning, saying, "Professor Tang was only recently promoted to associate professor, but many in the hospital are already recomnding him for the head of surgery."
Ou Yanan rely pursed his lips mysteriously and said, "You shouldn’t let Dr. Su hear you say that."
"Yes—" the nurse, grasping the underlying aning of his words, said with a laugh, "Actually, we all guess that Dr. Su has mixed feelings about Professor Tang. Dr. Ou, you might not know, but when Professor Tang was on duty before, Dr. Su wouldn’t go ho but would secretly watch Professor Tang’s office—"
Ou Yanan nearly let out a laugh, his eyes narrowing obviously at the nurse’s words.
Just as he was about to push the door open again, the nurse quietly reminded him, "Dr. Ou, I know you want to prepare everything before Professor Tang arrives. But, inside, the situation is not good. Dr. Su is already losing his bearings. Only Professor Tang can control the situation. If you go in, Dr. Su will watch you—"
"Thinking I’m just an intern easy to bully, I know," Ou Yanan said coldly. "Actually, the professor instructed to change my clothes first and to wait for him before entering the operating room."
The nurse, clearly afraid of hurting his pride, said, "Dr. Ou, you are the only disciple Professor Tang has taken, and everyone knows he’s a genius and extrely selective. I think, not just , many people believe that within a couple of years, you might surpass Dr. Su—"
To this, Ou Yanan seed as dismissive as his ntor Tang Sili, bluntly stating, "Don’t compare to Dr. Su."
Dr. Su Yide was not worthy of comparison!
After hearing his extrely confident tone, the nurse could only look at his fair and handso face with even greater admiration.
The corridor was so quiet that it seed they were the only two standing at the operating room door talking, so much so that when Tang Sili appeared, for a mont, his attention was on only the two of them.
"Professor." Upon seeing his ntor, Ou Yanan imdiately adopted a very serious and strict expression.
