Ou Yanan stood behind the white curtain. Due to the patient being a high-level VIP client and the professor’s boss, there were no nurses around, and they, as master and apprentice, were responsible for all the preparations themselves.
Through the white curtain, his ntor was conversing with the boss.
"I’m grateful for Director Xiao’s strong support. The dean talked to the other day, and I received news that I might take over the surgical departnt." Tang Sili spoke to his boss with an uncharacteristic respect, a departure from his usual arrogance in front of others.
Xiao Yebai sat on the sofa in his office, slightly nodding his head, his expression cold, saying, "I heard that after your visit to the dean’s office that day, my wife had an incident in the hospital."
Knowing that the ultimate boss would ask about this, Tang Sili seriously replied, "Yes. It seems there was a small issue in orthopedics."
"Is orthopedics part of surgery?"
"No, it’s part of general surgery."
Surgery is divided into many departnts, such as orthopedics, hepatobiliary surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecology, and so on, all of which fall under the category of general surgery. Therefore, what laypeople think of as orthopedics is referred to as general surgery within the hospital.
Of course, now each surgical departnt, in order to compete for its own profits, would generally take on any surgery that falls under the ambit of surgery, without making distinctions too fine within surgical specialties.
For a genius like Tang Sili, needless to say, there was no surgical procedure that could stump him.
Xiao Yebai raised his eyes, glancing across his face, "If you want to beco the head of general surgery, what obstacles need to be removed?"
Tang Sili, as if speaking the absolute truth, said, "If Director Xiao rises through the ranks smoothly, things on my side should progress quickly, achieving Director Xiao’s goals."
"So, it’s because of , not you, right?"
"Of course not—"
Ou Yanan realized that his ntor seed to be in an embarrassing situation for the first ti. Just what kind of man was this? Why did soone as outstanding as his ntor seem to have a side of fear when facing this man?
Knock knock.
There was a double knock on the door panel.
Ou Yanan went to open the door.
After unlocking the deadbolt and opening the door, Gu Nuan stood in front of him, caught off guard as they ca face to face.
Ou Yanan felt a tug at his heart and imdiately stepped back half a step.
Gu Nuan looked at him, her sharp gaze sweeping across his face, and then she walked into the office.
Xiao Yebai, sitting on the sofa, changed his entire expression upon seeing her. The face that seed to be wearing a mask the mont before instantly turned into that of a Husky, whooshing eagerly towards her.
As Gu Nuan was nuzzled by the large white dog, she felt him almost pressing onto her and couldn’t help but comnt, "I’m a bit sweaty."
"No problem, it slls nice."
"You’re sweaty."
"Am I?" The big white dog hastily sniffed himself.
Gu Nuan took the opportunity to sit down in the chair to prevent him from sticking to her again.
Tang Sili straightened his white coat and sat down in front of her at the doctor’s position. If he looked up, he could see clearly the pair of deep, black-hole-like eyes of Xiao Yebai behind her, emitting a faint glimr.
Intimidating.
Clearing his throat, Tang Sili said, "Mrs. Xiao, the results of your last blood test are out. The anti-inflammatory drugs aren’t showing very apparent effects at the mont. According to Dr. Ou, you’ve noticed a decline in your hearing, haven’t you?"
Xiao Yebai, likely unaware of this, furrowed his brows and gave Ou a couple of sweeps: You actually know more about my wife than I do?
Ou Yanan acted as if he hadn’t seen or heard anything, simply standing behind Tang Sili, assisting him with the dical records.
