"Can eldest sister handle it?"
When Xiao Shuzhu asked this question, Xiao Shuju really couldn’t answer.
The point where Xiao Shui was even more formidable than Xiao Yebai was that she was far more distant from them all, hardly consulting with them about anything.
In other words, they understood Xiao Shui even less.
What they knew about Xiao Shui was the sa as what outsiders understood about her.
"Now that the company has beco like this, you can’t count on my husband," Xiao Shuju said, "Fourth sister, you said your husband is unreliable too. I think the situation with my brother-in-law’s family is also quite dire, leaving only eldest sister’s in-laws."
The relationship with the Zhao Family was quite close to the Xiao Family. Xiao Jianming had always seen his eldest son-in-law in a special light. Moreover, Xiao Shui had been impressive, giving birth to two heirs for the Zhao family, and her daughter had been cultivated into a well-known diplomat and society darling, so the Zhao Family had not a single complaint about Xiao Shui, their daughter-in-law, only full admiration.
What the two sisters hadn’t expected was that the root of the disaster had been planted by Xiao Shui herself.
Xiao Shuzhu’s cell phone suddenly rang. She answered and, surprised, said, "Eldest sister? — Eldest sister, what are you saying, asking to go to the company now? What do you want to do at the company?"
Xiao Shuju was just as shocked when the eldest suddenly called the fourth, sensing vaguely that sothing was amiss. Could it be that there were problems on the eldest sister’s side as well?
After hanging up the phone, Xiao Shuzhu told her third sister, "Third sister, eldest sister has asked to co to the company, she couldn’t explain everything over the phone."
"When you get there, rember to get in touch if anything cos up," said Xiao Shuju and suddenly sighed, "We have no n at ho to rely on."
How good it would have been if their brother were here. Even though Xiao Yebai often seed to squander their wealth, now it occurred to her that in his presence, perhaps he could have taken control of the situation. Maybe Xiao Yebai wasn’t smart, but his wife, Gu Nuan, was an outstanding graduate. Perhaps Gu Nuan could have found a way to help their family.
Unwittingly, was she actually missing those two people who were driven away by them?
"That ti, when I went to the village to find them, they knew I was faking it, purposely getting close to them, but they let stay anyway, not letting end up on the streets. And, indeed, my sister-in-law is very smart; she had never t my husband but could still know about my husband’s financial situation. Isn’t that incredible?"
Xiao Shuju’s words might have been thoughtless, but they seed to resonate with Xiao Shuzhu. Xiao Shuzhu missed those two people too, asking, "But, they left, and we have no idea where they have gone."
"Let’s not talk about it. Even if we want to bring them back, would eldest sister and second sister, or grandma agree? Would our dad lying in the hospital bed agree?" Considering this practical issue, Xiao Shuju was discouraged again.
However, Xiao Shuzhu didn’t think so. Without discussing it further with her third sister, she picked up her bag, instructed her daughter to stay and keep Xiao Shuju company, and then took off to Changda alone.
Having heard that the eldest sister was in their father’s office, Xiao Shuzhu went straight there, knocked on the door, and called out, "Eldest sister, it’s ."
"Co in." After confirming it was her voice, Xiao Shui consented for her to open the door.
Only then did Xiao Shuzhu realize the door wasn’t locked; she turned the handle and walked in.
She had imagined Xiao Shui sitting on their father’s swivel chair as if she had beco the reigning monarch of the company, commanding the front lines. But when she looked over and saw no one, Xiao Shuzhu turned her head and then saw Xiao Shui sitting silently on the sofa behind the door.
The scene was entirely different from what she had expected, and it startled her. Xiao Shuzhu anxiously said, "Eldest sister, what’s wrong with you?"
