The shadow that sneaked into Xiao Jianming’s hospital room was obviously well aware of this, as it edged in and saw Uncle Tang’s face subrged in dreams, the faintest hint of a smile curled the corner of their mouth, as if they had expected this all along.
The person approached the hand that Xiao Jianming was receiving an IV drip from and started to examine the IV fluid that was being administered.

With that in mind, Su Yide returned the syringe, after drawing the liquid, to his left pocket and took another syringe from the right pocket. While doing this, he kept his back to the cara in the corner of the room, then aid the syringe at the IV port, prepared to insert it and inject when—
Suddenly a voice appeared at the door of the room:
"What are you doing?"
Su Yide spun around, his fingers trembling, and the unsecured syringe dropped into the palm of his hand, the exposed needle pricking him. Su Yide didn’t even have ti to cry out in pain before hurriedly pocketing the syringe, ready to leave the room. As he brushed past the person who had questioned him at the door, he said, "What are you doing here? Doctor Ou, is this a place where you should be?"
Ou Yanan’s gaze first fixed on the patient monitor connected to the bedridden figure, and upon seeing no variations in the lines, turned to pursue Su Yide.
Su Yide picked up his pace, oblivious to the fact that the other party was determinedly following right behind him. Reaching the corridor entrance, Su Yide pushed through the fire door and into the stairwell, turned around, and faced Ou Yanan, who had caught up to him.
Ou Yanan, upon reaching the stairwell and seeing that he had not run away, lifted the corners of her mouth and said, "You can’t run away, Su Yide. You’re not fit to be a doctor!"
Su Yide seed to pay no heed to her words, his expression instead taking on a hint of composure as he simply asked, "Who put you on my tail?
Tang Sili?"
"No," Ou Yanan denied, "I’m on duty tonight. According to procedure, I have to check on all the wards. When I got here, I just happened to see you lurking about, not sure what you were up to."
In charge of the hospital already? So soon? This kid made it to in charge of the hospital already? He had only just entered clinical practice not long before. Su Yide thought about his own experience; it wasn’t until his third year of clinical work that he barely managed to beco an acting chief resident.
Comparing oneself to others will only make one frustrated, that’s precisely what they say. It’s not that Su Yide didn’t work hard, in college or during his clinical training—he spent every day in the library researching, doing his utmost, and studying hard. But sohow, so people are just born with a great mind, they learn fast, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t compare to them.
