“But what about the Ruan Family’s engagent? How do you plan to call it off? Just now, when your grandma and I were coming back from the Presidential Residence, I heard your dad say he’s planning to hold your engagent ceremony in the coming days.”
Upon hearing this, Li Yuan’s black eyes deepened a little more.
After a few seconds of contemplation, he spoke, “I’ll go back.”
Xia Xing was also silent for half a second, “Alright, are you coming back now?”
“Hmm.”
“What about Yishan?”
“She’s still asleep. I’ll go back after preparing breakfast.”
Xia Xing was taken aback.
Still sleeping?
She glanced at the clock on the wall; it was already eight o’clock.
Having been there herself, thinking about the possible ‘reasons’ why Huo Yishan might sleep so late, Xia Xing couldn’t help but smile.
“Then let her sleep a bit more. Are you going out to buy breakfast or ordering takeout?” Knowing that her son had never been in the kitchen, she guessed he was planning to buy or order takeout.
“Buy.”
“I’ll co over to cook for her anyway since she’s still asleep and will probably wake up late.”
Li Yuan lightly furrowed his brows, “Is Grandma okay now?”
“She’s fine. After having a good night’s sleep, she was very spirited when she got up this morning.”
“Alright, then please co over, and I won’t go out to buy breakfast.”
“Okay.”
To prepare breakfast for Huo Yishan, Xia Xing hung up the phone and headed out.
On his side, entering the master bedroom, Li Yuan saw the person on the bed still sleeping soundly. He couldn’t help but place a gentle kiss on her forehead, then softly closed the door and left the private villa.
Not long after, Xia Xing indeed arrived with groceries.
Knowing that she was staying here, definitely having three als a day here, the thoughtful Xia Xing naturally wanted to have plenty of ingredients prepared to cook a few als for her son and daughter-in-law during the available ti.
She really feared that before her son and Yishan could walk down the aisle, she might not be around anymore.
Whenever she thought of this, Xia Xing couldn’t help but feel a deep lancholy.
After putting so ingredients in the fridge, Xia Xing started preparing breakfast.
She first cooked so porridge, then hand-made a few dumplings, fried two eggs, and by the ti the simple breakfast was ready, it was already 9:35 in the morning.
She went up to the second floor and headed straight to the master bedroom.
Sure enough, upon pushing the door open, she saw a small mound on the wide double bed. The smile on her lips beca even more pronounced.
Having slept for almost five hours, Huo Yishan finally woke up slowly.
Perhaps because of staying up late, she felt particularly heavy-headed and had droopy eyelids when she opened her eyes.
“Yishan.”
Seeing her awake, Xia Xing smiled gently and softly called to her, “It’s ti to get up and have breakfast.”
Suddenly hearing Xia Xing’s voice, Huo Yishan woke up imdiately from her drowsiness. She turned her head abruptly and saw Li Yuan’s mother standing by the bed, smiling at her warmly.
She sat up all at once, looking slightly dazed at Xia Xing, “Auntie? How co you…”
Xia Xing smiled gently, “Yuanyuan had sothing to do, so I ca over to keep you company. Breakfast is ready!”
Staring at Xia Xing for three seconds, Huo Yishan instantly felt like a clumsy daughter-in-law eting her in-laws. She flipped out of bed like a whirlwind, stood straight in front of Xia Xing, and awkwardly said, “Uh, well, I… I slept a bit late last night, so, haha… You didn’t need to specially co over to prepare breakfast for .”
Her incoherent and nervous deanor amused Xia Xing.
“Why are you so nervous? This isn’t our first ti eting.”
