With just one sentence, it ca crashing down on her without warning. Even though she’d already suspected it in her heart, hearing the Doctor say it out loud, Feng Jinglei was still completely stunned.
It was just that one ti, how could she have gotten pregnant?
"I..." Facing sothing like this for the first ti, aside from panic and confusion, Feng Jinglei also felt at a complete loss, not knowing how to deal with it.
She looked at the Doctor. "Dr. Lin, for now, don’t tell anyone about this."
"So you really are pregnant!?"
Dr. Lin also knew about the relationship between Feng Jinglei and the Qin Family. Not to ntion she wasn’t married yet, as far as she knew, Jinglei didn’t even have a boyfriend. Then where did the child in her belly co from?
Thinking of this, the Doctor’s eyes widened in shock.
Looking at the Doctor, Feng Jinglei’s gaze was sowhat vacant and dazed.
"From what you say, I guess I am."
Dr. Lin was startled. Judging from her expression, it seed she’d been suspecting it all along, and only when he spoke just now did she finally confirm she was really pregnant?
Dr. Lin had never been a talkative person, but this ti, whether out of curiosity or concern, he cautiously opened his mouth. "Miss Feng, then this child is..."
Hearing this, Feng Jinglei froze, as if she’d been struck by lightning.
In outsiders’ eyes, she and Qin Feimo were as cold and distant as ice. If she said the child was his, people would probably be scared out of their wits.
Besides, no one knew what happened that night. She genuinely had no idea how to handle a situation like this.
In her panic, both her hands clenched tightly together.
"Anyway, don’t tell anyone about this. I’ll figure out a way to deal with it myself." Perhaps because she was nervous, Feng Jinglei didn’t express herself clearly.
What she ant by "deal with it" was that she’d find a way to make the pregnancy public. But in the Doctor’s ears, it sounded like she was planning to have an abortion, and his face changed at once!
"Miss Feng, you absolutely mustn’t do anything foolish. No matter what, this child is innocent!"
Feng Jinglei paused, then lifted her eyes to the Doctor’s anxious expression. Her gaze dropped, and she finally realized he had probably misunderstood her.
"No, you misunderstood what I ant."
The Doctor halted, but in the end he relaxed a bit at her words.
As for whose child it was, since she didn’t want to say, he couldn’t very well ask.
"I understand. You don’t want a third party to know about this."
Feng Jinglei nodded. "Mm."
She herself didn’t know why she wanted to hide it. Clearly she could have said it openly and aboveboard. Maybe after she got pregnant, she could even use this to marry Qin Feimo—she’d not only beco his wife, but also fulfill Grandpa Qin’s wish.
But if she really married Qin Feimo because of this, she would never feel at ease. It would be like using the child to threaten him into marrying her.
She sighed. She hadn’t even thought about how to bring it up yet—at the very least, not in a situation like this. How exactly she should say it, she needed to think it through carefully.
And if Qin Feimo found out, would he want this child?
Maybe, because he didn’t want to marry her, he’d make her get rid of the baby?
At that thought, a cold sweat broke out all over her. The idea was simply too terrifying.
Seeing her lowered face, the Doctor could tell she seed to have so concerns.
"Then, if the old madam asks, what will you say?"
Feng Jinglei lifted her eyes and looked at Dr. Lin. "In a bit, just say I have irregular periods, that’s why I asked you to co up and talk to in private."
