"Yes, on the way back, I saw you entering the hospital." He didn’t hide it, wanting to know why she went to the hospital.
Also, was it alone, or with that ’friend’?
He wanted to get to the bottom of it to see how she was doing, but there was another reason too. He wanted to know who her so-called ’friend’ actually was and why they went to the hospital together.
Or perhaps, that ’friend’ didn’t exist at all.
Whether ’he’ existed or not, he had to know the truth.
Feng Jinglei looked startled.
He actually saw her go to the hospital?
Panic-stricken, she lowered her eyes, thinking she had to find a suitable reason; otherwise, she couldn’t possibly deceive him.
"Yes, we went to the hospital together."
"With your friend?"
"Yes."
"I only saw you alone."
"..." Why did he have to dig so deep?
She stole a glance at the man opposite her; his indifferent gaze made her even more panicked.
"My friend, she—"
"I rember you went with your friend, didn’t you? She specially ca to pick you up, so why did you go to the hospital alone?" Zhuang Yanyan was also sowhat surprised upon hearing her grandson’s words.
She rembered her friend coming specifically to pick her up. Could it be that Jinglei was indeed hiding sothing from them?
Thinking of this, Zhuang Yanyan’s gaze carried a hint of probing.

Feng Jinglei originally intended to say her friend waited for her at the hospital, but Zhuang Yanyan’s ntion reminded her, nearly exposing her lie.

Though her reason was plausible, the guilt on her face told Qin Feimo she was hiding sothing.

Seeing the probing from his wife and grandson, Qin Guozhong couldn’t help but speak up, "I say, can’t you both stop questioning her like you’re interrogating a criminal?"
Zhuang Yanyan turned her head, looking innocent at her husband, "I was worried sothing might be wrong with her health, and she didn’t want us to worry, thus hiding it from us!"
Hearing Zhuang Yanyan’s words, Feng Jinglei couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty.
"Grandma, I’m fine. The reason I went to the hospital... is because my friend wasn’t feeling well and wanted to accompany her."
Zhuang Yanyan imdiately turned her head, "Really?"
"Yes." She nodded.
Though still sowhat worried, Zhuang Yanyan felt a bit relieved hearing her say that.
Just as Feng Jinglei thought the topic was over and things had cald down, a low, cold voice rang out again.
"Which friend?"
Her eating paused, surprised that Qin Feimo would continue to ask.
The reason she originally ca up with was casual, but his question made Feng Jinglei begin to panic again.
After thinking for a mont, she boldly raised her head to look at Qin Feimo, "My friend, you don’t know her!"
"Don’t you not have friends?"
"Who said that? I have friends too."
"Xiang Jinnan?"
She was taken aback. She couldn’t help but notice that when this na was ntioned, Qin Feimo’s voice was more solemn, and a hint of gloom appeared on his face.
