Suddenly saying they should have a al together, Feng Jinglei was a bit stunned, and by the ti she snapped out of it, Qin Feimo had already hung up the phone.
Looking at the screen showing the call had ended, Feng Jinglei stood there dazedly, unsure whether to leave or stay.
The hesitation lasted only a minute or two, and when she looked up, Qin Feimo had already arrived at the office door of the finance departnt.
"Let’s go."
She was startled; how did he co down from the top floor so quickly? Did he call her from inside the elevator?
Watching the man as he walked away without a glance back, Feng Jinglei belatedly followed him.
Leaving the M Group, Qin Feimo seed to have already reserved a private room, as they were led directly into it by a waiter upon entering the restaurant.
Throughout the al, neither of them spoke, simply eating quietly with their heads down.
Feng Jinglei occasionally looked up, watching the man’s leisurely movents as he ate, wondering why he suddenly wanted to have a al with her today.
If he didn’t speak, she naturally had no reason to initiate a conversation.
Until the lunch ended, neither of them exchanged any words. It was only when Qin Feimo wiped his hands with a napkin and finished the al that he suddenly looked at her across the table, saying, "If you’re too tired, take so ti off."
His words were abrupt to Feng Jinglei, causing her a mont of surprise. She t his deep, dark eyes.
"No, I don’t need it."
"Is your health still not good?" He could see her sowhat haggard face, wanting to ask many tis but ultimately refraining from doing so.
The unexpected question left Feng Jinglei stunned again, only reacting after a few seconds.
The last ti she invited the Doctor was over a month ago, and there was nothing wrong with her body, so there was no issue of whether she was well or not.
She lowered her face, "I’m well."
"Then why do you look so unwell?"
She raised her eyes, eting his narrow black gaze, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
She wanted to tell him she was pregnant, carrying his child, but thinking of his recent cold deanor, if he knew the child would bind this marriage, would he take her to the surgery table and abort the child?
Every ti she thought of this, her words were swallowed back into her throat.
"Maybe I haven’t been sleeping well lately." She looked down, finding a random excuse to dodge the question.
He, however, narrowed his eyes slightly.
Not sleeping well? Wasn’t she obviously getting up later than before?
"I have work to do, I’ll head back to the company first."
Not knowing how to be alone with him, she stood up first.
An hour had passed during lunch; she indeed needed to return to the company.
Lunchti was an hour and a half, and she was used to returning early.
Seeing her ready to leave, Qin Feimo quickly paid the bill and followed her.
From the restaurant to the M Group, it was a six-to-seven-minute walk, both strolling down the street, each preoccupied with their own thoughts.
Early spring’s weather was still quite chilly, Feng Jinglei rubbed her hands for warmth, as she intended to eat lunch at the employee cafeteria without a coat, leading her to feel cold in the wind.
Qin Feimo, walking beside her, took in all of her actions, a strange sentint flashed across his heart but disappeared quickly.
Feng Jinglei, walking ahead, suddenly felt a weight on her shoulders.
She paused, stopping her steps.
With a slight turn of her head, she saw a black coat draped over her shoulders.
She gazed up, noticing Qin Feimo who had placed the coat on her, a slight warmth crossing her heart.
With his coat removed, he now only wore a white shirt on the outside, with the buttons ticulously fastened to the top.
