"Bang—"
As he focused intently on the scene outside the window, suddenly the sound of shattering glass jerked his thoughts back.
"What’s the matter with you, waiter? Are you blind!?"
Turning his head, he saw a young man in his twenties furiously pointing at the waiter in front of him, cursing! Judging from his attire and deanor, he seed like a spoiled heir of a wealthy family.
"I’m sorry, sir!" Ling Xi, dressed in the restaurant’s uniform, apologized ekly to the man.
"Is an apology supposed to be enough?"
Ling Xi was at a loss; indeed, she had bumped into this man when she turned around suddenly.
"What would you like to do then?"
The mont she looked up, the man caught a glimpse of her beautiful face, and his gaze imdiately turned lecherous.
Touching his chin, "The little girl is quite pretty, how about going out for a drive with Young Master here?"
After saying this, he couldn’t help but reach out and touch Ling Xi’s face.
Ling Xi dodged and said, "I’m sorry, sir, I’m working!"
She hadn’t failed to notice the man’s lecherous gaze, but she didn’t know what to do at the mont.
At Dijue, she was still on an internship salary, which wasn’t very high, so she would work in this restaurant on weekends.
"Working? Look, you spilled this juice all over my clothes, do you know how expensive this outfit is?"
Ling Xi shook her head, indicating she didn’t know.
However, she was aware that most of the custors who could afford to dine here were wealthy.
"I guess a humble waitress like you couldn’t afford to compensate, so why don’t you go for a drive with Young Master here, I might get happy and forget about the compensation!" Saying this, he nonchalantly took hold of Ling Xi’s arm.
This was a high-end restaurant, and Ling Xi could never have imagined that this man would pull her like this in a public space.
"Let go of !" She tried to shake off the man’s grip but couldn’t break free.
Strangely enough, as she was dragged toward the restaurant’s door, no one among the diners or other waitstaff seed to care.
"Don’t worry, my family owns this restaurant, taking you away for a few hours, nobody will say a thing!"
The man said arrogantly while pulling her along.
Only then did Ling Xi realize why no one ca to her aid.
Qin Sijue remained motionless at his window-side seat, his disposition unflinching, displaying no emotion up until he saw Ling Xi being dragged away unattended; then he cast his eyes down, fixating on a crystal ashtray on the coffee table.
The next second, he picked up the ashtray, seemingly playing with it in his hand.
"What are you doing, let go of !"
As she was about to be dragged out of the restaurant, Ling Xi started to panic.
And at that mont, she caught a glimpse of a blur in the peripheral vision, swiftly flying towards them.
Then, the only sound was a scream.
"Ah!"
Due to the intense pain in his wrist, the man instinctively let go of Ling Xi’s arm.
No one knew what that suddenly hurled object was, but the man felt as if his bone had shattered instantaneously.
"Who is it? Co out!"
A fierce shout, but nobody in the quiet restaurant stood up.
"Who’s the coward who did this, stand up for your deed! What, got the gall but can’t own up—"
Before he could finish, a fork flew straight at him, piercing through his cheek right beside his mouth—
