[FROLO]

Svetlana didn’t wait.

Not even when she could hear her friends trying to tell her out of it. She had seen Katya hurt one too many tis, but this...

This was different.

Different in the kind of way that hurts to the core.

Seeing Katya so defeated, so unsure of what to do for three whole weeks, was sothing that the friends hadn’t imagined possible.

Especially for an oga who just dared to dream of happiness.

She and Andre had tried to talk Katya out of the contract marriage, to find contingencies in between, to even reach out to soone who could help him really.

But there was no standard fix.

Not this ti.

The only option that could have worked for Katya, even if just for a mont, was Yaroslav Gamov.

He alone could challenge the contract and demand to know why his husband signed another marriage contract when they hadn’t even gotten the chance to talk.

But in over two weeks, Yaroslav had not done anything that could show he truly cared for Katya. Granted, he had co during Katya’s inauguration, but everyone had watched him leave eventually. He didn’t fight harder for his oga, and that was sothing that everyone in Frolo saw.

And the young Romanovs’ friends were not pleased at all.

"Why is he just leaving?" Andre had asked, not understanding how a man who had been used to defending Katya in public had chosen to let him go like that.

"Probably to cheat with Milan again," Svet had sighed exasperatedly. She knew how hard things had been for Katya. They both did.

And the fact that it never got any better was just sothing else.

"He was just angry, Svet, it’s nothing to worry about," Katya had defended the day after Yaroslav had been shot in the hospital for trying to hurt Katya.

It was such a thing that still haunted the best friends, especially given the fact that at the ti, Katya had truly been weak.

He had just had a miscarriage because of Yaroslav, and instead of the man being emotionally present, he had beco the asshole who made it all harder for Katya still.

"No one is allowed to leave, Miss," a guard at the gates said to Svet.

They had seen her coming.

Her fury was unmatched this ti.

Honestly, the security at Katya’s new residence had heard the rumors of Svetlana Vasilieva, the woman who broke bones first and asked questions later. She was well-trained and could handle them well.

Now, as she insisted on leaving, they knew she would try to break a few bones. They couldn’t put it past her, and the fact that they didn’t know if their orders demanded restraint for Svet made their lives a tad hectic.

Because Sergei had brought the woman and her friend here.

If they got hurt...

It would be a lot of trouble for everyone.

"Listen... I know you’re just doing your job and you’re trying to be reasonable with . But I have places to be. Necks to snap, bosses’ lives to make miserable. I don’t want to fight you, but you and I need to understand that I will leave these gates.

"Co hell or high water," Svet said in the calst tone she could muster.

She could see the way they were anxious around her, but right now she wasn’t in the mood for anything other than putting one of the Moskowsky bastards to sleep.

Hopefully forever, if not for a while.

"The gates stay closed, miss," the guard said, and Svet sighed.

She had expected this, and honestly, she would have been too suspicious if they were brought in from work and no one was challenging their movent in a place that was so secure.

"The only way I’m not leaving this place... If you shoot . And make sure it’s a kill shot because otherwise, when I’m healed, I will co after you just like your bosses live terrorizing people.

"Mud doesn’t discriminate between those who get dirty and those who don’t. So careful," Svetlana said as she prepared herself to fight these n. It wasn’t her finest mont, but she had places to be and Moskowskys to hunt down.

"Miss, you can’t," the guard tried.

But Svet was not listening.

She was not a prisoner here.

And if they tried to leverage her fiend, she would definitely put them to a few hours’ sleep by snapping their necks. After all, even in their human form, they were still supernaturals.

"Let her pass," Anya’s voice ca from behind, and Svet glared at her.

This woman.

The woman who had processed everything that mad Moskowsky wanted with Katya. Maybe it wasn’t too far a stretch to start with her, right?

"Yes, ma’am," the guards responded respectfully.

And Svet walked toward it proudly.

However, before she could walk through the gates, she heard Anya talk.

"She and her friend can co and leave as they please."

Another round of yes, ma’am hit Svet’s ears, and for a mont, she wondered why Anya wasn’t doing anything about her defiance.

Svet knew they had caras with audio recording all across this huge ass mansion, and they must have seen and heard her swear and promise a few tis today that she was going to kill Yaroslav or Sergei.

And she was being allowed??

"Why? Think you can use us to convince Romanov to lean into whatever madness you already set him up for?" Svet asked, like Anya, allowing them freedom was the most suspicious thing she had ever seen.

Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t.

But frankly, there was no telling with the Moskowskys. These people could ruin lives without thinking twice, and they were the kind of people that Svet loathed seeing around Katya.

"What do you think, Svetlana? He already signed the contract, didn’t he? It’s a lifeti contract, with more benefits than anyone can ever give him, no?

"You need to take them in and stop fighting the system," Anya said coldly, watching Svet with calculating eyes like she too was trying to understand the group of friends that Katya had.

Svet was erratic, and as Anya had noticed earlier, she refused to accept the fact that Katya was married.

Worse, she refused to call Katya by his first na or even his married na.

And Anya knew she would be a problem...

To Sergei.

"Of course. Take the hurt oga at his weakest, when he’s high on sedatives, and shove a contract right in front of him, when that heating lying bastard is the reason he ended up in that shit hole anyways, no?" Svet said as she turned to walk toward where Anya was standing.

So close to the front door of the cursed mansion.

The hell hole that they had forced her friend into.

And Svet was furious with everything that was happening because a part of her knew Katya would never fight them.

Even if he wanted to sotis.

That Katya would accept his fate since they did help him, even if he had to give himself up and all.

And it hurt so much, because this right here was the first crisis that Svetlana and Andre couldn’t solve for Katya.

It made her feel like she was a terrible friend, and gods did it make her feel worse. Maybe that was what fueled Svet in her walk back to Anya.

"But hey, bravo to you Moskowskys for swooping in and saving the day, right? The great saviors who always do their best to make sure Frolo knows who runs the city. Did it ever occur to you, mighty Moskowskys, that Romanov was dealing with a cheating husband?

"Or was that just a consequence of getting married into the family of killers and vagrants?" Svet asked.

And Anya clenched her fists this ti.

She looked like she was about to do sothing about Svet, but what was she to do when the woman was right about everything?

And worse, if Svet was this pressed about the contract... What if she found out about Sergei’s obsession and how they got to this point in the fiesta place?

Oh, Anya was sure Sergei would make her bald before her ti, damn.

"Those vagrants... saved the life of your friend’s mother. Maybe you should practice more gratitude than rage while you still can. Who knows, we might just be done with your performance and take the heart back.

"You know we can do that, right?" Anya said coldly, and a whimper was heard behind her.

"I knew I wasn’t wrong," Katya laughed in defeat, his eyes red from crying too much already, his face still wet from the tears.

"Romanov..." Svet breathed as she looked at Katya, then at Andre, who looked defeated behind Katya.

Then she turned to Anya one more ti.

Then she left.

Wasn’t that hard to know where she was headed?

Moskowsky Holdings.
