[FROLO]

When Sergei stepped forward, and Svetlana’s eyes t Sergei’s, she tightened her chokehold on Yaroslav’s neck.

As if to tell the man that he was next.

As if to communicate that this was just the beginning.

As if to warn Sergei against hurting her friends.

That was a dangerous stance she was taking, not that she was about to let go.

Because this was long overdue.

Svetlana had seen Katya suffer more than once because of the man, and honestly, if she were to kill him, she would.

"Let go, you darn woman!" Yaroslav struggled, his breath slowing.

He looked helpless even right before his father, whom he had co to see. It was like this was just one of those nightmares that Yaro found himself in, which was a pity because for Svet, Katya was already living the nightmare.

Svet smirked at Sergei, like this was what she had been waiting for. A confrontation with the bastard who had ruined her friend’s life. Maybe because she was done playing nice with anyone over Katya.

"If you wanna be let go of, so badly, then sure," Svet said, her gaze still holding Sergei’s bored eyes.

The most dangerous man was watching his son be handled by a woman so unhinged, and he wasn’t even saying anything.

It was easy to assu that Svet had won, but those who had interacted with Sergei knew the predator never let things be like that.

Only the question that lingered was why he was letting this happen.

Yaroslav was his dearest son.

Sergei had committed worse cris to make his son happy, so what was so hard about ordering his n to shoot Svet and secure Yaroslav?

"What are you doing?" a tired Yaroslav asks when he feels the pressure against his neck. It was insane and sothing he had most definitely not expected when he left ho.

Hell, he was stronger than most, but clearly, there was soone stronger than him. Or was it the fuel that was different this ti?

The pure, unfiltered hatred that Svet had for him... Perhaps?

"Letting you go," Svet said calmly.

Then...

She snapped Yaroslav’s neck.

Not once. Twice. As if for good asure.

She didn’t flinch, even as his limp body fell to her feet, the weight of it a reminder of just what Svetlana had done in front of the whole world.

But she wasn’t done, because if that wasn’t enough, she kicked Yaroslav’s unconscious body to the side, and stepped forward to where Sergei was, the challenge obvious in her eyes.

Anyone in their right mind would have already run away, because Sergei was associated with fear. With insanity. Yet the woman just snapped the neck of the Moskowsky group heir like it was nothing.

Like that was just another good day for her, and fuck if it didn’t make Sergei’s mouth twitch slightly before he went back to being blank.

Everyone around them was terrified of the man, even as the guards rushed to get Yaroslav away from there in case the unhinged woman ca back for more.

"Svetlana Vasilieva," Sergei said coldly, like he was about to ruin Svet’s life.

Everyone gasped around them.

"Oh, he knows her na."

"She is going to be another dead or missing body in a few weeks."

"She shouldn’t have ssed with that man."

"What if he goes after her family?"

"Does she even know who she is up against?"

Everyone was pissing their pants in dread for Svetlana and the fate that awaited her.

They were scared for her life and wished that she could run. But even if she ran, there was nowhere she would ever be safe for Sergei Moskowsky.

But Svet didn’t even seem bothered.

She stood her ground.

Her head held high, her gaze never once wavering from Sergei’s cold eyes, as if she knew this was a fated eting.

Whether she was oblivious to the terror around her, or to her, or she just didn’t give a shit, was sothing that many would probably keep talking about for days.

"Before you threaten with what you know about , let make it simpler for you," Svet began, and Sergei raised a brow.

Svet continued either way.

"Svetlana Vasileiva, research scientist at El Nueva Industries. Fourth of seven children, all of whom live in Frolo. Daughter of a bio scientist mother and a truck driver father.

"I live in the sa house with all of them daily, just in case you decide your ego was too bruised by your whore of a son being bested and want to take out the entire family... I invite you to try," Svetlana said, giving her entire family line up like it was nothing.

There was sothing fundantally wrong with this woman.

There was no denying it.

Everyone was scared out of their minds for her with every word that ca from her mouth, and she was just listing her family to the man known for shalessly bringing down hos, doing whatever the fuck he wanted, and ruining lives like it was breakfast for him.

"Now that you know , let’s get to the reason why I am here. Romanov," Svet said casually as she smirked at the guards who were hurrying away with Yaroslav as if to save him from the mad woman in their presence.

"Who?" one of the dia personnel asked, as if they hadn’t been following the entire thing. But Svet knew what they were doing. Trying to get nas instead of alleging, and maybe they were smart for that, but she didn’t quite give a fuck about anyone right now.

"Romanov," she added calmly, and Sergei flinched at the na, as if soone had stabbed him.

Svet noticed it and smirked evilly at the man like she had more in store for the bastard who had ruined Katya’s life.

And again, like he was used to, the alpha masked his reaction fast, but Svet didn’t give a shit about this man.

She hated this man.

She wanted to kill this man.

She would kill this man, even if it was the last thing she would do. That was her promise to Katya because no one was allowed to hurt her friends, and she kept walking around the city like things were normal.

"Romanov?" Sergei asked, the last na sounding so bitter on his lips.

"Yes, my best friend. Katya Romanov. I know that you, Moskowskys, are deluded enough to think that he still is Katya Gamov, or Katya Moskowsky, as you want to brand him.

"But he is always going to be Katya Romanov, the kind soul your bastard son cheated on and your fuckass company dragged here barely a week after..." Svet sighed, breathing in and out like she couldn’t even bring herself to say it.

She couldn’t.

It hurt too much.

And for the first ti since she had so bravely stood right in front of Sergei, Sergei saw her lips tremble.

Maybe in rage.

Maybe in pain.

But he could tell it was because of Katya.

"Where is he? Where is Romanov? What did you do to him?" Svet asked, her head held high again, her focus back like she had just managed to shove her pain down and focused her attention back where it mattered.

"I only just ca back," Sergei said, like that was supposed to explain the absence.

"Well then, I suppose you wouldn’t mind taking your useless son with Vitya away for interrogation, would you?" Svet asked loudly, an angry smirk on her face as she stressed the Vitya na.

The entire gathering went silent.

Even the caras stopped moving.

Because no one said that na out loud anymore.

No one alive anyway.
