He shared with the four an experience from his past.
It was many years ago, just as he had started working, he was temporarily reassigned to join a project in Jilin. At that ti, he found it quite strange; although the country had unified planning, back then it was the Northeast, as the elder son, exporting talent and industry to the mainland, when did it require the mainland to send engineering teams there?
The location was in the mountains, but not isolated, close to Ji’an.
After he arrived there, he was given the corresponding part of the task: not planning or construction, but re-examining an existing underground building.
This was supposed to be a secret project, most likely a civil defense engineering, quite large, but for so unknown reason, it had severe water seepage.
They were divided into many teams to inspect various nodes, and so key areas that were marked at that ti were not allowed to be approached by them and would be handled by others.
One day during the work, Luo Tingrui and a colleague found a dried-up water outlet, big enough to allow a cow to pass through.
Logically, with the construction quality at that ti, even natural damage shouldn’t have made such a big hole, and most importantly, when they inspected this section yesterday, this hole didn’t exist.

Then, it seed the people on the other end also heard soone approaching, as clearly, a series of footsteps ran towards them, and dimly visible was the light from torches they were carrying.
Although the two weren’t afraid, thinking of the need to relay the ssage, Luo Tingrui had his colleague run ahead first, while he jogged slowly while keeping an eye on the rear, ready to block the way. The passage was so narrow that even if he left a corpse there, it would block the path.
At that ti, the two young n still tended to believe it was the work of enemy agents sabotaging the place.
But gradually, the voices and footsteps from the other end disappeared without a trace.
Anyway, his colleague had run far away by then, maybe even already out of the outlet to report, knowing that backup would soon arrive, Luo Tingrui simply stopped going out and boldly advanced inward.
