Arpita was moving this conversation with a delicate touch having gained a basic understanding of the way Reyansh operates or at least what she had seen.
Her main goal in this eting was to gain Reyansh’s interest and make working with Nisapal tempting or challenging enough for him.
She was succeeding in her goal when a slam on the table disrupted her rhythm. She was angry that soone interrupted her conversation despite early notification about staying silent.
However, she was furious that soone had tried to throw a wrench into her carefully laid plans.
Luna jumped from her lap to the table, Reyansh sent his thought ntally, ’Hey, Luna.’
’Hey kiddo, how’s your sister?’
’She’s fine, thank you for asking.’
Reyansh focused back on the situation, the whole café was silent enough that he could almost hear their thoughts aloud.
Arpita slowly stood up, the man who had slamd the table was frozen completely, sweating despite running AC in the café.
The man watched with terror filled eyes as Arpita walked towards him with slow steps, like she wanted him to be completely terrified even before she reached him.
Reyansh watched everything with enthusiasm as he had never seen this side of Arpita.
Arpita stood before the man wearing a mandarin collar red colored jacket. Her cold, furious eyes looking straight at him, but he didn’t dare to look into her eyes.
"What was the notification before this eting?" she asked, but her voice was not just aid at him but the entire café.
"To remain silent and not disturb the eting in any way possible." A unison response ca from all the agents seated in the café, except for the man standing there.
’Damn! This much command,’ Reyansh exclaid internally.
’She is bossy, I like her already,’ Lyrielle gave her thumbs up.
"What is the punishnt for insubordination?" she asked again, her voice sharp. This ti no one answered imdiately.
A few seconds later, a ek sounding voice ca from the responsible, "At the leisure of imdiate superior officer."
SMACK!
The man fell backward just as he finished. The sound of Arpita’s backhanded slap echoed in the café.
’You got to learn this, this is content worthy,’ Lyrielle remarked.
’Damn! Just Damn! And here I thought I had swag,’ Reyansh thought.
"Good, you are on White gate watch for a month with resources cut for a week." Arpita declared the punishnt imdiately.
She turned back and quickly got back to the sofa.
"OUT, EVERYONE!" she ordered as she sat back.
Reyansh watched in amazent at the man stood up and left followed by everyone seated in the room within seconds, even the barista left without a fuss.
"I guess I have much to learn," Reyansh made a comnt to lighten the empty yet heavy atmosphere.
The next second, Luna waved her tail, an energy originated from her body, covering the entire room.
Reyansh sense a thin barrier forming inside the room, he felt a familiarity with barrier.
’It’s almost similar to Sonus Block.’
Arpita saw Reyansh’s eyes darting around, "It’s a sound blocking barrier." She clarified.
"I thought so," he responded.
Reyansh saw the distant face he saw earlier, peeling down.
"Before we get back to our discussion, I have a question. Your stream na is Black_Nails09 but you have white nails."
"When you approached him, I thought I may get to see it but your nails remain white. What’s the reason behind the Black Nails?" he questioned before Arpita could say anything.
Arpita chuckled at the question, like she had heard the sa question before.
She raised her hand slightly above the table, slowly her nails extended and started turning black.
"I only use them for killing, not punishnt," she stated.
Reyansh watched as her nails turned pitch black, he could feel the danger radiating from it. He imdiately knew, he would get hurt if he was scratched by these nails.
Even the air around the nails seed to lt away as Reyansh watched them for a second longer.
"Corruption?" he spoke as he looked at Arpita. She nodded in response as she retracted her nails back.
’Cool, is this her talent?’ he wondered but didn’t think it was appropriate to ask about her talent.
"Nice, I get it now. It was my first ti seeing you angry, you control your anger well," Reyansh complinted.
"Says you, soone capable of playing a cruel ga with his enemy wearing a casual face," Arpita shot back with a smile.
"Well, I hope I won’t get to know how those nails work," Reyansh stated jokingly.
"If you remain good boy, you won’t."
"That’s so much a principal like line," Reyansh chuckled as the tense atmosphere lted away.
"Now back to your question before this distraction, though I have to thank that idiot. Because of him, I could send everyone out." Arpita spoke.
"You talked about benefits, I know you don’t have money problems. So the best thing I can think of is access. If you work with Nisapal, you will have access to many things, you won’t be able to get it usually." She stated.
"Such as?" Reyansh asked.
"Hmm...higher rank gate access, availability to resources like mana crystals, access to authority." She answered.
"Hmm..." Reyansh nodded his head, "these are the gains. What will I lose?"
Arpita had a glint in her eyes like she was preparing herself for this question.
"Secrecy, that goes without saying. No abuse of authority for personal gain and no streaming." She laid out the important principles on which Nisapal functioned.
"I could understand about secrecy. I can even get behind the no abuse policy, though I am thinking about how strictly this is applicable, seeing you blocking the movent of governnt officials for ." Reyansh comnted.
"Why do you think I had to do this extra work and setup the eting like this? I justified it by saying that it was to recruit a promising talent." Arpita interrupted, sharing her reasoning.
"Ohh...okay, thanks I guess. But the third point about not streaming, that is sothing which is hard to abide for ."
"Streaming is the unique advantage I have, even though if it is available to everyone. So, I don’t want to give up my special privilege." Reyansh shared.
"I ntioned secrecy first for a reason, if you livestream your videos, there won’t be any secrecy. And that is equally threatening to you as it is a problem for the organization." Arpita countered.
"What do you think the enemies that are against the Nisapal and working actively to harm or control India will do when they found a link to the organization?" She presented a question.
Reyansh nodded his head in understanding, as he started thinking.
’Are you thinking of joining this organization too?’ Lyrielle asked.
’Yes, if I can solve this streaming issue,’ he responded.
’Why?’
’My decision to join BloodNight was for access to higher dinsions and I am thinking of joining this organization to increase my reach here.’
’I get your thoughts about BloodNight but what’s the need to join this organization?’ Lyrielle questioned again.
’Mainly for availability of higher rank gates. I probably wouldn’t need their resources, maybe authority soti but that’s it. However, dungeon access is sothing I can’t gain easily.’ Reyansh explained.
However Lyrielle didn’t look convinced and kept looking at him like she was questioning his choice. While Arpita thought Reyansh was in deep thought about this.
’White and few Violet-rank gate are easily available that are owned by governnt. But higher rank gate and dangerous gates are owned by guilds, corporations or organizations like this.’ He added.
’You already saw the example with Violet-rank we just cleared. As we move higher, if we don’t have access to quality gates, don’t you think it will affect our stream?’ Reyansh asked.
’Hmm...okay, I get your reasoning but I still don’t like that rule about no livestream,’ Lyrielle finally relented as Reyansh explained.
Reyansh thought for few more seconds then finally looked up, ’Let’s if this idea works.’
"How about we co at a compromise, Miss Arpita?" Reyansh spoke.
"I am listening," Arpita nodded.
